This branch is located in a very busy area (Cubao), which some might think is not an ideal place for a coffee shop. But for me, once you go inside the coffee shop, the noise of the cars and people passing by the area outside becomes barely noticeable. Despite a lack of a restroom and having seats on the busy outside area, a lot of people are still present in CBTL at almost any time of the day, which speaks to the reputation of the place.
That reputation is clearly seen in the quality of the foods and beverages offered, especially the coffee. A typical coffee enthusiast would speak fondly of the lattes and iced coffee. Their pastries, especially the cheesecakes, are definitely above-average in taste, and their non-coffee drinks are just as good. However, the offered consumables tend to be moderately expensive, which makes it difficult for those with small budgets to afford a weekly visit to CBTL. The free WiFi after purchase is moderately fast, especially given the Philippine context, and their promos (i.e. planner) do tend to get the fans hooked. read more
