We put our name down, got coffee and went for a walk. They called us 10 mins later with our table ready. I love it when business places care enough to give you a call back rather than making you wait there at their mercy. I ordered the juice of the day: Orange, lemon, and raspberry. Deliciously refreshing. I tasted a hint of ginger but I don't mind it. We ordered a croissant French toast that comes with lemon or orange mascarpone with a side of crispy bacon and avo dish with bacon. The French toast looked and tasted amazing. Just AMAZING! Avo dish consisted of rye toast with avo and labne, with quinoa tabbouleh and 63 degree egg, and a side of bacon. The rye bread was hard I suspect because it was gluten free. The quinoa tabbouleh was so refreshing, I felt healthy eating this dish, even with bacon. 63 degree egg wasn't really 63 degree. I was too hungry to care but next time I might ask for a real 63 degree. The coffee was good and the place was charming. Service was pretty good. Better than most places in Sydney. I will be back next time in in Canberra.

Yes being a Sydney-sider I was…read moreseriously skeptical about this place, especially as all my Canberra friends swear by this place. But this place is awesome, and I will make sure that I stop by here any time I am back in Canberra. First and foremost is the coffee! Yep, I am a fan. My friend asked for a strongman cappuccino, and waitress quickly replied - all our coffee is strong. Let's just say this raised my expectations. And when the coffee came out, my expectations were meet. But what truly takes this place to greatness is the food. It is seriously good. I had the green eggs, and I wanted to wipe the plate clean. If you are a person who had a sweet tooth then I suggest ordering the French toast. Now this place is generally crowded, but even if you are not willing to wait and sit, get a take away coffee and some muffins. But either way this is a place you need to visit if you are in Canberra.

We get there early, which was lucky, for around 10:30 it got crazy busy, both for dine ins and takeaway. I loved the colourful Nourish Bowl, complete with roasted pumpkin, miso eggplant, kale, beetroot jam, cashew and cauliflower cheese, organic kimchi, house pickles sitting atop brown rice. This is a dairy free vegan dish, but I chose to add on an egg for the protein hit. The bowl was flavoursome and filling and an enjoyable brunch dish (albeit expensive at $19 + 4.50 for an egg). We also had one of their pies - crispy and buttery pastry, filled with slow cooked beef. Kurt thought it was a quality pie. Other dishes available on the current menu include spiced chai porridge, oven baked granola, eggs Benedict, smashed avo, a breakfast burger, hot cakes and toasties to name a few. Milk based coffees, espresso as well as milkshakes, thickshakes, organic tea, cold pressed juices, smoothie bar, The cafe has a homely yet busy atmosphere. It is large, with indoor and outdoor seating and a natural wood cabin style feel to it with its stacked log wall display and hanging greenery, ropes and planter boxes. Service was fast, except my three friends got their meal half an hour before me and I had to remind them. I'm also not fan of single use packaged boxes and plastic cutlery. This was implemented for Covid19 takeaway but they're continuing to use it. I would much prefer proper plates and cutlery.

You'll often see the same bunch of regulars going back - and they're not without good reason. Well, apart from my own taste, it's not uncommon to see owners of other local coffee shops, whose businesses close on weekends, frequenting chatterbox on Saturdays. The food is excellent and very well priced (surprising given Canberra's overpriced brunch market). Friendly staff who remember your face and order round this out. Bonus- some staff also work at Mingle in the city during the week, and as such if you're a city worker, you can check out Chatterbox on the weekend and your coffee will be known!

Why not? Parked in a closish Wilsons, and walked to final destination. First impression was how popular it seemed. Waited in line for just a short time - there is lots of staff & 2 cashiers operating. That was good - hate waiting to order. Plenty of tables available. Used the toilet - clean and comfortable. A good sign. Ordered a fruit toast and a muggaccino. When I returned from the loo my table was set and bottle of water available. Nice touch. Generous portions of a very nice fruit toast with sides of butter & jam also in generous amounts. Coffee very nice. Highly recommend for its friendly staff, it's amenities and of course it's very nice food
