Great location but the owner, who works the register, is just nasty to his employees and not very pleasant to customers. He is constantly barking orders to the workers in an unpleasant bossy way. We stopped in while on our 25th wedding anniversary weekend and the gentleman was so friendly and kind. Coffee was very good and we felt so welcomed. He even took a pic of us and talked with us. However the second I went to actually order one of their drinks I was CONFRONTED, not greeted, by the owner of this establishment who's name is Mel. As a small business owner it pained me to go to Starbucks to get my latte but I will never go to The Coffee Mill again. My husband and I ordered a chai latte and a white mocha, what we received was not meant for human consumption. When we brought them back to get a refund the owner was so rude and insulted my husband handing him the money and saying he needs it more than him. WHAT? Off we went to Starbucks and it makes me sad this is a small business that is willing to treat customers this way. Good luck. read more

The iced chai tea latte is much spicier and flavorful than Starbucks'. Tastes more "authentic", not that fake sugary taste. It was sweet but with a little kick. Even most places in Manhattan that aren't Starbucks taste similar to this one. Interior was charming. Lots of wood and felt like a little cabin. Servers were nice and my order along with the 5 other people I was with was prepared quickly. The street kind of reminded me of East Hampton... Visited on a recent Sunday evening. The owner must not have been present when we visited, because we were helped by a friendly young man. Unfortunately they were only making espresso drinks because it was late and they'd stopped making drip coffee (we arrived ~6 p.m.). I ordered a double espresso and then asked the staffer for advice on beans. He was very knowledgable and helpful. The beans were somewhat expensive but we've thoroughly enjoyed them. I'd visit again, though I can't help but think Rehoboth has a better coffee shop than this (though likely not one with such a wide selection of beans). read more

Cute little coffee place! The workers know their stuff and the coffee is pretty delicious. I've been here several times and it's always been a good experience. I like that they have such a huge selection of milks, coffees, and syrups. They could basically make you anything you asked for! I was looking for a local coffee shop that had a tasty cold brew. I stumbled upon this shop along the boardwalk. Despite the overwhelming menu that seems to be scattered all over the cafe, I was able to identify that they did in fact have a cold brew. I added vanilla and cream-it was very tasty! We started coming to this cute, locally owned coffee shop five years ago. The owners are wonderful and greet us warmly every time we come in. Walked in to get two coffees for my wife and I based on a family member who had a good experience there. What seemed like a quaint, local coffee shop turned into a disaster when my order ended up wrong, and I didn't realize this until I got back to my room. The biggest issue I have with them is the efficiency. This place needs an electronic ordering system that tells the customer what drink they received on the side of the cup. This would've been helpful in my case as I wouldn't have received 2 of the same coffees. They only called my name to tell me my drinks were ready. I was only ordering 2 coffees so I assumed they were right. 1 of my coffees was a regular coffee, and the other a latte. I received the coffee right away but 2 people who ordered after me received their latte before me. I only got the 2nd drink after asking them about it, then it was the wrong drink. Service was bad by the owner/manager was at it again barking at customers. The coffee was fine but not good enough to overcome wrong orders, and terrible efficiency. Also, go invest $50 in a self closing door hinge instead of signs on your front door that tell your customers to close it. read more

Drinks are listed on the chalk board and vary . Hot and iced coffees , lattes, frozen drinks and smoothies. They also serve up some interesting bites soups , salads and the like. Since it's resort season I expected there to be a crowd but there wasn't :). I got a frozen Carmel coffee drink I asked for it to be made with skim milk. The girl behind the counter informed me that it was premixed powder substance that gets blended with ice. At 4.50 for a small serving I would have like a little dairy. The drink was good but a tad overpriced ( as was most items on the menu board) the plus is that they use fair trade coffee and espresso beans, you can buy beans in bulk and have them ground there. That also provide free refills on hot coffee when you dine in. This probably wouldn't be my first stop but id return if in the area , my drink did it's job and the dessert case looked promising . read more

One of my favorite things to do in Rehoboth is to visit the Coffee Mill, and I don't even drink coffee! Situated in a pedestrian alley off Rehoboth ave, it is a charming spot with shaded outdoor tables, soothing music, nice people, and a variety of food and beverages. I like to nibble a bagel and people watch. Service is spotty but somehow it's part of the charm. read more

I give them 2 stars for decent coffee. Great location. Cute shop. Service, on the other hand...sigh. Rude. Was in Rehoboth with friends for New Years (at Nalu - but that's another story) (a really good story) (a really good NY eve party) and since I was the first one up NY day, stopped into The Coffee Mill for my first cup of coffee of the New Year. A place I always go to when in town. (BTW: The service was never stellar) I asked the surly young man a couple of what I can only assume were incredibly stupid questions, like what sizes did they have and if they had black tea. I also asked - OMG - the stupidist question of all- could I please buy 3 empty small cups. Again the kid looked at me like I was a zombie with two zombie heads that he wanted to chop off (OK, I'm being a little dramatic) (sorta) and gave me my 3 large coffees and a tea without a word about the empty cups. (or even a thank you) (why would you thank a zombie anyway?) So when the owner appeared I asked him if I could buy 3 small empty cups off him. I guess I still had that zombie appearance the way he looked at me aghast and asked "What for?" I said I might need to split up the 3 large coffees because I wasn't sure who was up...blah, blah blah - he very very annoyed said: "Give me three (3) dollars" I handed over the 3 dollars, then I asked if I was out of line in asking for 3 empty cups and to please forgive me. He then cheered up and said "oh no, no, did you have a great new year? and are you making sauer kraut and pork and .... happy New Year." Yeah. Whatever. They weren't even busy - There were only 2 other people in the shop. AND, by the time I got back to the room 10 min. later the coffee was ice cold. Almost $20, I couldn't even enjoy my coffee, and it was annoying enough of an experience to write this stupid waste of time review. ($20 was for 3 lg. coffees, a sm. tea, and 4 MINI cinnamon rolls) (That were just OK) ($1.50 ea!) (yikes!) Oh yeah, and 3 sm. empty cups. OMG I can't believe I was dumb enuf to throw a buck in the tip jar. Happy New Year everyone. I'll be making that drive to Wawa for now on for my coffee - unless I can find a better, friendlier coffee shop downtown. read more

Very cool coffee shop with all the usual amenities and more. It's nicely tucked away down the quite alley with patio tables out front. But, damn. Reviewers here are not exaggerating about the owner's demeanor. This guy is a perfect candidate for a personality transplant. You'd swear he was pissed at you for coming into his store. He's like a sitcom coffee Nazi. What is it dude? An act? Do you think it adds an eccentric "charm" or is it just how you are? I personally don't care too much about that. I'm not a very social person and only demand civility- not even politeness. But wouldn't you think this guy would get the message his behavior is probably hurting business? Portions may be another downer here- the "double shot" espresso" I always order is much closer to a single shot anywhere else. read more
