I actually look forward to eating these as opposed to the somewhat bland other delivery services I've tried. I don't understand the bad reviews-- the app is much more user-friendly so try that. I have had no problems with availability, adding or changing items to my order, and the freshness. For people saying "unclear billing" they have a Charges tab that shows exactly what you're being billed for delineated by item... Other than the plastic waste (comes with the territory) I honestly have no qualms, I will be continuing with them for awhile! My new fav delivery service.

I signed up for Thistle accidentally while comparing meal plans. I loved Daily Harvest back when…read morethey offered more than smoothies and was hoping for something similar. The food was decent, but the packaging was a dealbreaker. Every single item comes in a non-reusable plastic container. Even setting aside environmental concerns, the sheer volume of waste was unmanageable: my garbage goes out every other week and was already full. The cost also didn't pencil out. Even with the discount, Thistle ran more than what I currently spend eating out for the same number of meals, and it didn't reduce my grocery bill either.

There was a SHARD OF PLASTIC IN THIS one! Hard to see but it was sharp and would have been so bad if swallowed.

This was a $10 meal. It barely fills this small plate.

All now expired garbage! unethical bc they don't even help you. God forbid you have an issue. Good luck with the worst customer service.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

This is slightly more upscale Chinese/dumplings/dim sum than I'm used to (I usually go to Chinatown.) I like their - Steamed Sweet Red Bean Bao, Steamed Sweet Egg Custard Bao, (very Instagrammable and not overly-sweet.) - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. Pretty good - Sichuan Xiao Long Bao and Shanghai Xiao Long Bao: must-get! - shiu mai and har gow: my must-gets at any dumpling/dim sum place. Interior is polished and clean. Nice to bike to or go to before or after Dolores Park. Service is fine. I keep coming back!

Having this in the fridge has saved me from food craze on some days. Very convenient to have food ready to eat. Some things like breakfast are better heated in the stove but the other dishes are microwaved in minutes. I've had a few chicken dishes and they've had some nice seasoning and included dipping sauce. The chicken has been tender and seems like maybe marinated. I've picked up their brownies and considering they're made of protein ingredients, they're tasty. The parking situation is kinda weird so better to park around the corner. Looking forward to trying new dishes!

Seems like they post their weekly menus on their website, so you can kind of get a sense of what type of meals you might get. So if you're looking to get a better sense of what may be in your 'bag', then I recommend looking there first! Pickup was quick. Someone noticed me standing by the door and after letting them know I was there to pick up a Too Good to Go order, he got my boxes really quickly. The meal I ended up getting was a turkley bolognese pasta with some steamed broccoli. Very simplistic dish that tasty alright. For this specific meal, I'm not sure I would so inclined to pay full price for the meal prep since it is cheaper and very easy to make this at home. That said, I can see the appeal for those who are just too busy overall and want fast, healthy meals without having to cook. Overall, glad to have tried another local establishment. Would recommend trying this on 2G2G first if you're not sure you'll like the food.

A few months ago I was hosting a baby shower for my friend and she's very health conscious in general but has had some funny allergIes/aversions come up in her pregnancy so I knew the Cuoboard would be a good fit. Well Rachael completely knocked it out of the park and exceeded not only my expectations but also those of the momma to be. The spread she prepared was of course healthy and delicious but the food itself was so beautiful as was the packaging that it essentially acted as decor! The menu was beautifully designed and the food became the highlight of the shower. I wish I still lived in SF, I'd have Rachael catering my life if possible!!

Highly recommend for busy families that are looking for high quality, healthy food but don't have time to cook.

When I came back to them a couple years later, the price point had gone up & I was priced out.) The portion sizes were large. I think it was like $12-13/meal. 99% of the dishes were delicious. I was REALLY pleasantly surprised at the flavor & taste. I expected gentrified dishes. It was good! I was also specifically looking for meal delivery that generated less waste. Planter table delivered that. I got cool enough with my driver (and tipped well!) that he brought me a little thank you plant. I loved that I had the same driver each time. They have family style option to get a bigger portion for those who have a family, or for me, to bring to a pot luck. They also have individual desserts and full size pies/cakes. Seriously - they have everything. They no longer offer wine for those who care. There are some additional pick up options, too, but I stick with Jack London Square on Wednesdays from 11:30-2:00.
