Came out to see a band play and it was a time! In all the years I've been in the area I had never really been to see a band here! The drinks were great. And some were quite a heavy pour... if you're into that kind of thing. And the lines in the bar area out back went pretty quick and the service was lovely. However the food was a different story. We were told a certain amount of time and it ended up being about double that. I heard the same story from others as well. We had to order basically "to go" inside and wait and take it outside to our table. Fine process. But LONG. The food was pretty good tho. Can't rush tasty food. It would just be nice to have a more accurate time. If you say 15 mins I'll just wait there. But when it's nearing 40 mins and now I've missed some of the band - that's a bummer. I would have just gone back out and came back to check in. Idk. There has to be a better process there somewhere. It won't keep me away tho! read more

This is the spot if you want to dine by the water. Amazing views, great service, cute decor, and good food. My dad and I came for an early dinner on the patio and later discovered there's a separate bar area right out on the dock. They don't serve food out there, just drinks, but it's such a cool space. It felt like a little nautical speakeasy. I ordered a Caesar salad with blackened chicken and honestly wasn't too impressed. My dad got the conch club and the flavors were great. The chicken on his sandwich was actually more tender than the chicken on my salad. We also ordered a side of hush puppies, which I usually don't go for since I'm not from the South, but they were surprisingly really good. We went on a slower weeknight, but I was impressed by how massive the parking lot is. It definitely seems like they can handle a big crowd. Great place for a nice dinner. We came here around 6 pm on Saturday. They don't take reservations. We were seated immediately. It was a cold rainy day so we sat inside. They have a nice menu with different options. I had market fish tacos. They were pretty good. Fish was fresh and cooked well. Service was friendly and attentive. They also have some unique drinks. Ambiance is laid back. We also ordered smoothie for our child and that wasn't good at all. Was pure sugar, and seems like was made from some premade stuff and not from fresh fruit. This cool restaurant is accessible by boat and car. There are neat "high rise" dining areas on the outside deck and spacious indoor dining though the indoors can be a bit noisy depending on the parties dining there. Staff is friendly and very efficient. We started with a cup of their World Famous Minorcan Conch Chowder that is spicy, tangy, and delicious! Our Banana Pepper Calamari was a crispy delight. My Fried Shrimp Platter was so good, I ate it all. Normally have to take some home from getting too full. Not today, this was too darned good and I totally stuffed myself. We have been wanting to try The Conch house and there is usually always a wait. We happened to be in town on a weekday and thought we would give it a try. It was a great idea! No matter how busy they are the wait is usually not that long unless you're waiting for a palapa table, and you can always go down to the end of the pier and get a drink and sometimes there's a Caribbean reggae band playing down there. Get a tropical drink and check out the crow's nest. Fabulous views of the marina, and if you have a boat, even better, tie up for lunch. The menu is pretty standard I would say nothing special, but I sort of feel that way about most of the restaurants in town. The clam chowder however was DELICIOUS, and I could've just stopped there and been as happy as a ... We've been here many times and the service is always next level. These servers have a really tough job running up and down those stairs with giant trays and they're always super friendly and attentive. They must do extra service training with their people and it shows. It's really a perfect place to go on a sunny day. read more

We loved the hot sauce that was provided and honestly preferred it to the banana pepper sauce. Worst restaurant experience since relocating to Florida. Maybe an off day because of the weather. I was served fish tacos that sat underneath a heat lamp, wilting the lettuce (slaw) and toasting g the corn (salsa). Supposed to be lime cream sauce was actually tartar sauce. Cilantro rice was just rice pilaf. Husbands Cuban was inedible (taste). Ham was just poor quality. Hard no. No we don't complain. We just paid the bill and left. We won't be back. read more

Our experience was disappointing overall. Our server, Erica, was quite slow throughout the meal and never informed our table that an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. Because of that, everyone in our party tipped on top of the included gratuity, resulting in us being charged double tip without realizing it until afterward. When we requested a printed itemized receipt to review the charges, Erica disappeared and we had to ask another server for assistance. The food was good, but the service and lack of transparency surrounding the gratuity overshadowed the meal. To management's credit, they did follow up afterward to address the issue, which we appreciated. However, customers should be clearly informed when gratuity is automatically added so situations like this do not happen. read more

We got there at 2 pm on a Monday, no line, or wait-list. We were told that no one was in front of us, she was just waiting for a hostess to come back to seat us. She took my name and number and I received confirmation of being #2 in line for a table. We waited 20 minutes, 4 groups came and were seated. I checked my wait-list status and received a message that I was no longer on the list. I think they messed up and didn't want to just tell me. I went inside to inquire on how much longer and why I couldn't access my wait-list status (even though I was told there was no one in front of us).... & we were immediately seated, at a table directly in the sun. Our dinners, we did Fish & Chips because it was one of their specials today. The fish was beer battered Flounder, very flaky and excellent taste. Instead of normal fries they do wedges and they were the best I have ever, yes ever, had. Served with a nice cold slaw. Try the key lime pie .... great. Great recommendation from a local! Started with a great rum runner, add the dark rum floater! Fried conch app, then had the conch chowder, entree was the flounder(Salt Run Catch style, amazing!), and finished with the key lime pie. My wife and I split the entree and dessert and we were both very full! Great service by a local waitress that gave great advice. And the vibe was low key and very relaxing! I really liked this on the water seafood spot! The conch fritters were tasty and the tacos were packed with flavor. The coconut rice was my fav part. My only gripe is that when I called to ask about the tiki bungalow tables, I was told that they were first come first serve. But the very next day when we arrive, we were told they were closed?? Plenty of other restaurants were serving outside, so I was bummed I didn't get the chance to have that experience. Service was great. We have been regulars here for several years. The fried shrimp were traditionally Saint Augustine style and they were definitely Mayport. We ate there recently, and the breading was changed to a Panko like breading with little flavor and I'm not sure if they were Mayport. I hope they were. The burger also changed. It was way overcooked it used to be a nice patty, but now it's a double cheeseburger and very thin pieces of meat. The meal wasn't bad just not like what it used to be and not sure how we feel about going back. However, the calamari was so highly spiced, I couldn't eat it. I'm a huge fan of calamari and order it everywhere it's offered. It's not standard for it to be spicy. I understand that a lot of people prefer for everything they eat to be spicy, and if the Conch House wants to serve it that way, it's ok, but there should be a warning on the menu. Just call it spicy calamari. My husband had the "cracked conch." Cracked means it's tenderized with a hammer--this conch was hard and chewy because it wasn't cracked. Again, if you want to serve conch without tenderizing it, you can do that. But don't call it cracked conch, because it isn't. read more

We ended up here after a failed trip to a seafood place across the street because they were closed for vacation, and it was great luck because we had the best meal! The ambience and service were both amazing and our meal was even better. We tried the appetizers conch fritters, gator bites and conch chowder- all were fantastic. For entrees we shared shrimp tacos and buttered rum scallops. If you go here you must try the buttered rum scallops. It was a perfect dish of savory and sweet with perfectly prepared cheesy grits and scallops. I'll forever dream about the flavors of this dish and am inclined to try to replicate it at home. The kids loved the pina colada smoothie. I wish we had saved room to try the key lime pie, but it was impossible after how stuffed we were. I was there for a night-before-the-wedding gathering of everyone from out of town (which was everyone!). Very cute places to sit in little outdoor tiki huts. The food is good for the most part but my flounder was little dry on the Carribean Coconut Catch but it was still good. Man, this place used to be off the hook back in the day with cars parked up and down the street; busy, busy, busy. They've been fairly quiet the last several many times we've been in over the years unless you wanted to wait to be seated in one of their cool unique Jamaican style grass huts over the water; you'll wait for that but it's fun. I'm only ever in these days to run up a tab at their tiki bar on the marina but my brother used to like taking me here to eat. Lots of good times. Lots of good memories. Wasn't too happy with yesterday. Bartender was unnecessarily gruff with us, uninviting, and unfriendly yet behaving obviously quite differently with his local yokel regulars. With two pedestrian drinks priced more than a handle of good rum and hospitality I'd fire someone over, we bailed and went somewhere else. Boo. read more
