Continuum publishes useful and high quality books (both in print and now as an electronic catalog) in immensely varied subject areas, from education primers to general and specialized studies in fields such as philosophy, film, literary studies, media studies, and many many more areas. I have mostly read titles that focus on philosophy and comparative literature or on various "national" literatures (Russian, Iberian and Latin American, British and Irish) etc.
While the methodologies and theoretical approaches of the authors vary a great deal, I feel that the editorial boards (in New York and London) apply high standards and give young scholars an opportunity to publish interesting studies at a time when academic publishing (university presses) is under great financial strains. A look at new and older titles will reveal the breadth of subject matters these studies explore. I always find some new and worthwhile titles.
