I enjoyed my meal, but the high cost puts a significant damper on things. $25 for toast and a glass of juice? I know, I know, it's not just "toast." It's locally-sourced, bird-friendly, non-GMO, cage-free craft toast cooked on a bed on Tibetian prayer flags. And the juice! Cold-pressed, organic, baby carrot-free blended in a responsibly-sourced aluminum bicycle-powered blender! Hurrah! Don't get me wrong. This is good food. The toast comes with two thick slices that are chewy, substantial, and have a great buttery crispness. The bread that came with the soup however was hard enough to drive nails. It was a dangerous game trying to devour it without ripping out the roof of my mouth. The soup itself? Healthy and bland. Toast toppings are elegant (sparse) but very flavorful and well-balanced. Juice was very good. Tasted of liquified plant matter and spices. Sorry. I may need to lose weight and eat right but my wallet doesn't need the purge. I gave it a shot because my wife demanded "real food" on her vacation after suffering innumerable pizzas, burgers, and chicken wings. Good on you beautiful wife! I come into corner beet often and really love the food and drinks. However, today I had a horrible interaction with one of the staff members and I was not treated right. I ordered a donut and a cup of soup to go, I asked if she took cash, and she nodded but was doing something else. I proceeded to hand her a $20, my total was 16, she handed me back $16 and said here's your change, I walked away and didn't click with what happened but assumed it was fine. Ten minutes later, she came up to me accusing me that I did not pay, I explained the situation and she continually said she didn't remember me paying (would love to check the cameras) and I said alright and handed her another $20, she then said your all set and didn't even give me back any change on my $16 total. I didn't bother to argue since she seemed like she had no idea what was happening at all during that entire transaction. I am disappointed considering I come in at least once a week to order food and drinks. At that price point, I would rather spend my money with good costumer service some where else. read more

I live mere blocks away, but had never been before today. It is SO cute and the staff is SO nice--you just feel a welcome vibe when you arrive. The coffee was delish. Stopped in after the St. Paddys Parade with my daughter for a snack. I had a black tea with mango. She had the root of love juice (beet, carrot, apple) and a lemon bar. My tea was yummy. The lemon bar was tart and dusted with powdered sugar. My daughter didn't care for the juice. The beet was very overpowering. You couldn't taste the carrot or apple. I went with the farmer which was garlic toast topped with avocado, hard boiled egg and mixed greens. The ingredients were simple and fresh. It was a bit surprising that it took over twenty minutes to assemble my lunch. When I was handed the box to go, there were greasy thumbprints all over the outside which did not make for a good presentation. Once I was back at the office I opened it to find a huge amount of mixed greens on top. It was easily the size of a dinner salad and perfectly dressed with a mustard vinaigrette. I worked my way down to the other ingredients and got to the toast which wasn't toast at all but a thick piece of un toasted bread. It was all super delicious but really an open faced sandwich with a big salad on top. I would come back and try another option as I was impressed by the food. read more

Outstanding vegan friendly spot for breakfast or lunch. Very hippie vibe but higher-end ingredients. Most of the selections are organic and locally produced. They're a mix of a coffee house, smoothie bar, salad, and avocado toast joint which makes a lot of sense when you're there. The portions are ample and the taste quotient is very high. The owner dude is super hippie with all sorts of sprouted things growing but don't worry the restaurant is very clean and there's a decidedly educated hipster vibe to the whole place. Everyone is very casual and they serve breakfast and lunch most days. They're only open late a few nights when they do open mic which is super cool. I had the avocado toast which was next level. Loved the local honey and grateful bread. The seeds salad is popular for a reason. Very ample size and a bevy of bright freeze ingredients with an interesting and not at all overpowering vinaigrette. read more

My buddies and I were on vacation and had an Airbnb in a spot about a block away from here and we decided it would be a quick stop to grab a pastry and coffee before we headed out to hike, as a sit down restaurant would take longer. After about 30 minutes, we received our food, which was, at its best, supremely mediocre. I paid $9.50+ for a cold brew and a "Jane" toast, and was surprised at how simple it was. For $6.50 I expected something more than 2 slices of hard bread with a very tart but sweet jam, but I guess you're paying for the hipster atmosphere. The cafe itself was uncomfortably warm, but the servers were nice and the location was great. All in all, for around $10 you can post a basic picture on your Snapchat of two slices of bread with the caption "hip$ter vibezzzz," but I suggest you steer clear of this place if you want something more filling and not leaving you with immense regret for going on vacation in the first place. read more

Line can be long depending on the time of day and service (while friendly) can be on the slower end. Not a super quick grab and go if that's what you're looking for. Great little cafe serving toasts, salads, and acai bowls. I had the Miso Fine salad and my husband had the Banh Mi Toast. Both are vegan and served with a deliciously marinated tofu. We also had hot loose leaf tea with CBD oil which was excellent and I used the same teabag to make a second cup to-go. Corner Beet is an excellent choice for healthy and interesting snack. I say snack because I'm from Texas and I'm used to bigger portions, but that's not necessarily a good thing for my waistline. My husband was still hungry after his toast so he ordered the PB & J which featured a house-made jam which was tasty and not too sweet. I live a block away. I'm really disappointed with the last two visits I had. First, I went in, and it was very busy, and ordered food to take back to my house: a banh mi toast, an açaí bowl, a drip coffee iced, and a hot americano. After 5 min the iced coffee was ready and I sat down on a small chair by the door to wait. 5 min after that the hot coffee came. 35 min after that I finally got the açaí bowl but the server asked me to get up so those who were dining in could sit. She admitted the tickets in the kitchen hadn't printed so my toast had not even been prepared yet. Finally another 10 min later, with watered down iced coffee, the toast was ready: 45 min total. I wasn't thrilled with the timing, though I understand it was busy but don't make me get up if you forgot to make my food! The second visit was Sunday morning. We ordered various items. The food was awesome. The muffin was delicious. But the double espresso, for $6 was teeny tiny. The server gave us a curt reaction when we asked if that was a double. We asked him what a single must have looked like. The amount of espresso in the cup was minuscule. No way would we ever pay that much for that small a portion. The point is it's a neighborhood gem and I really want to continue coming in. The music is always good. The employees are always nice. It's a perfect ambiance in the mornings. I like this place but it's been over 5 times where they get my order wrong, they charge me for avocado and don't put it on my food and I try to call ahead by AN HOUR and when I get there it's been 3 times where "they lost the order" "it's not ready" bs. The guy that wears the beanie EVEN THOUGH ITS SWELTERING IN THERE takes for fucking ever to take an order I shouldn't have to wait in a line of 3 people for 20 minutes to place my order. This is not an exaggeration. I tried to ask them what is going on or if they could somehow work on it and the guy with the beanie was like "idk it's out of my hands" he's the worst. I am just a little annoyed by this place. I have been here many many times and I've given so much money for pretty expensive avocado toast which is phenomenal and I didn't mind doing. This is the second time that I've asked for dressing on the side for my salad (and extra on side of it costed more or not) and then they make me feel really bad about me asking for the dressing on the side when they put it on my salad and I say something . Also I was just there at 3:45 and he made it very clear that they were closing at four when he asked if he if I wanted to sit inside or not so made me feel very uncomfortable and wanted me to just get my food out the door. Only then for me to see that my dressing is all over my salad. So I think that this is a really amazing restaurant but there are a lot of things that need to be changed in order for customers to feel comfortable...also this is my salad... The Corner Beet has been consistently recommended to me by my friends and I had to try it since it's walking distance from my place. I was most excited to try their juices. I went there on a Saturday morning. Since I don't normally eat breakfast, I elected to order a 16oz juice. I forget what it was called, but it had apple, spinach, and a couple of other vegetables in it. It was perfectly balanced and not too "vegetabe-ly". I would have given The Corner Beet 5 stars, except for the price of the 16 oz juice which was ~$10 after tip. Waste of money. I went in looking for a mexican mocha and settled for a mocha with a little cayenne and cinnamon. I was charged 12 dollars rather than 7 for a medium coffee just for the barista to add the spices, and it was nasty. The coffee was watery and way overloaded with cayenne and ginger (which I never asked for). The toast was okay simply because it was good bread but seemed stale, overly crunchy and chewy.
