Hostess chips with WWF wrestler stickers inside and large glass bottles of Pepsi and Jolt that we could return later for a refund. I am now in my 30's and while I no longer live in the area I still come back every now and then. The family owned and run store is the best, and the people are friendly . When I was 10 I tripped over a curb infront of the store and hit my head splitting it open. The owner came out and took me inside and held a towel on my head until I was taken to the hospital. Generally caring people that have been in the community for a long time. While the area has changed a lot and the people in the area are not the same this store and the owners have not changed.

He was a middle-aged guy with a Scottish accent and was going for broke trying to get me and my friends to buy some Taquitos or Hot Dogs. He was pushy but in a friendly way so we joked with him that maybe he needed the hot dogs. He told us he would eat as many as he could as long as we were buying. Makes me wonder if 7-eleven has a hot dog quota for their employees. I wish all convenience store clerks were this entertaining.

Take a guess how much they charge for the fresh, jumbo-sized sugar donuts...50 cents! Think it's just cheap since it's a sugar donut? Well for the premium price of 75 cents you can get chocolate dipped, jelly-filled and others. Even apple turnovers and chocolate-filled croissants are just 75 cents too. There's a few other items and of course they're cranking out Portuguese buns like they're feeding the entire neighbourhood - which they might just be doing. And don't just think you're only getting inexpensive baked goods. Perhaps they may not be at the level of the highest "Boulangerie" downtown, but the quality is still fantastic. You are still getting quality alongside value. Honestly, the pricing doesn't even make sense, but bless all the staff and ownership of this place for doing what they do. Oh, and they're super-friendly too.
