This place felt like the dives back home with retro signage all over the walls, a pool table, and even benches out front if you wanna take in the sunny weather. The burger was nice and I really liked the bread it was made on. The chili fries were hearty and they were definitely a "share with the whole table " size! And you can't go wrong with a pitcher of a cold Heff! Service was quick and they also have a window out front if you just wanna stop by for a bite and head out. The Cotton Bottom is somewhat of an institution. It has been in the same location for years, but received a facelift about 15 years ago. The outdoor seating is lovely. It is primarily a bar, the menu is limited, but quite good. Be sure to try the garlic burger that is what they are famous for. Solid no frills place to grab drinks, hang out, and have a good burger! Stopped by after work one day and we were able to snag a spot outside. Service was prompt, we put in our drink orders quickly and eventually settled on some food too. The garlic cheeseburger is HUGE! I upgraded to fries on the side and I could only finish about half of my burger. My partner and her mom got regular cheeseburgers with chips and enjoyed them as well. I ordered a tequila sour and it was very good. Not too sweet and made just right. It looked like they had a good selection of beers if that's more your speed. It's embarrassing to admit, but I've lived in Salt Lake City for 7 years and had never been to The Cotton Bottom before this weekend. After doing a beautiful hike in Big Cottonwood, we were so hungry and in need of a burger ASAP. Luckily, Cotton Bottom is a short drive from the base of the canyon and they're known for their burgers. The garlic burger here is the most popular. They have an Impossible burger on their menu, which is what I got. I was a little disappointed to see that the Impossible burger was more expensive than their regular burgers. The burger comes packed with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, cheese, and a side of pickles. The burgers come with chips, or you can upgrade to a side of fries for $3.50 which seemed a bit high. The bun in comes on was interesting - really good - it was like a flat bun? I don't know how to describe it, but you can look at the photo for a reference. We happened to come on a night when there was live music on the patio and it was lovely. We sat outside and it was beautiful weather. The inside is very dive-y and small. It's a no frills burger joint, the service wasn't anything special, the orders were taken quickly, the food came out fast, and the food was good. Oh so good! My friends brought me here after we finished snowboarding. Located near the road leading up to the ski resorts sits this bar that has been serving for 70 years with the most delicious burgers. The star of the simple menu is the Garlic Cheeseburger. A single 1/3 lb smash style burger laced with granulated garlic topped with all the fresh veggies like lettuce, tomato and pickles and served on a soft large French loaf bread. At first glance when I saw the bread holding this burger together I knew it was unique and I knew it was going to be good. I ordered a side of fries that came with a delicious cup of "fry sauce" for dipping. Fries were great also. Cotton Bottom has a nice selection of domestic and craft beers to wash down your Garlic Burger. They also have just plain burgers with cheese if you don't care for Garlic. We were visiting from out of town and this place was recommended, worst mistake ever. I got the garlic burger and asked if I could have it medium, nope was the answer. That should have been my clue. The meat was burnt and no favor. The French fries were $16, I've never seen a basket of fries cost that much. They so proud of these plane no flavor fries. This is a popular local spot/dive bar in Holladay right across the street from the upscale Tuscany and Francks. The menu is not very big and basically consists of their famous garlic cheeseburger, chili, hot dogs, fries, chili dogs and chips. My boyfriend and I were not in the mood for a drink and just got water. I was a little annoyed that the servers would not serve you the water... you had to get your own. Also, the bun on the cheeseburger is quite weird because it's hoagie size and bigger than the burger. My boyfriend was disappointed because they also didn't mention the garlic burger comes with raw onions and he hates onions. I appreciate any restaurants that allow dogs. I stopped here for lunch and had the garlic burger and fries. The burger is really garlicky, and so good. The fries are nice and crispy and the outside. When sitting outside, they have a large water pitcher for customers to use. It was a beautiful day and nice to sit outside by what they call the White House. I decided to stop by for a burger and a beer today, and was not overly impressed with the experience. The burger wasn't too bad as far as taste goes, but definitely not worth the $13 +$3.50 to add fries. $16.50 for a burger and fries would be common for a fancy steakhouse burger, but definitely seemed overpriced for a dive bar garlic burger. The general atmosphere of their outdoor seating area was pretty casual, and I enjoyed the ambiance it provided. The servers generally seemed a bit annoyed with me throughout my time here, but I wasn't sure why. The food was pretty good, but something I'd probably pay $8 for, not $16.50. The location is really nice and close to so many hike places, so if you want a burger after a hike, this is the place to go to! Their garlic burgers are the famous burgers they have! And it's so so good, pretty good size burger stuffed with cheese lettuce tomatos. Service is pretty fast. They have outdoor dinings as well and tend to get packed on weekends. Driven past this place a number of times and finally decided to try it. Ambiance is fantastic, sat outside and the patios are lovely. This place is no frills with a really basic menu. My wife and each had a burger. After eating and being very underwhelmed by the food we both lamented that it'll be the only time we will have ever eaten there.
