The beef Stroganoff was fantastic and really tender. The staff are pretty welcoming and set a nice relaxed atmosphere so its a nice place to just pop in and chill out over a few beers.

The main bar follows the pub tradition of hanging random items from the ceiling and here you will find an eclectic range of toby jugs and tankards. There is parking out front and a large garden to enjoy a summertime beer, but the real reason for coming to the greyhound is the food. They serve gastro pub cuisine and I have eaten a number of very tasty meals here. You will get full waitress service and i would describe the menu as upper market classic English cuisine. The Sunday roasts are also good, especially the nut roast and they are accompanied by all the trimmings. You will pay between £8 - £15 for a main course, but seeing as the y source local, quality produce, this is about fair. There are also a good range of locally baked desserts to satisfy those with a sweet tooth, although I tend to go for the cheeseboard myself. Expect a good range of lagers and ales on tap and a respectable wine list. There are also quiz nights held on Monday's. All in all, a great pub bursting with character, which is run by friendly staff. It's nicely placed to have a little stroll around the churchyard opposite to work off the meal also.

With low ceilings and intimate little tables and booths, the Greys is the perfect place to snuggle up with friends or a special someone for a glass of red wine in the winter. In addition to the cosy indoor seating, they have a covered, heated patio at the side of the building and a few tables and chairs out front. As well as an impressive array of the usual ale, lager and cider, the Greys boast a fine selection of Belgian beers with very distinctive flavours...the raspberry and cherry are especially tasty. The pub is a hub of beer-drinking activity during the Hanover beer festival and is my favourite of the pubs involved. This pub is also great for live music...I once happened in on a beautiful folk singer. They quite often feature local and international musicians of all varieties, but they do seem to generally favour bluesy and folksy bands, which is fine by me! They also do a monthly music quiz, which will especially appeal to music buffs.

The vegetables were also good, freshly tasty and decently seasoned. The mashed potatoes tasted a little bland, but mixing it with the sauce of the meat pie made it tastier. I sampled my friend's pasta dish, and I thought the fish was delicious, and the pasta was also tasty, almost "al dente" pasta. We ordered a pint of Guinness and a pint of Strongbow cider, and were pretty good drinks to finish the meal. Bartenders were really nice and patient, so this place also has great service. Another thing I liked about this pub was that it has a good amount of space, it has two floors in case the first floor gets crowded. We sat down on a couple of sofas, and they were so comfortable and relaxing, making it probably the most comfortable pub I have been to. The pub also has free wi-fi, which is great if you need internet. Overall, this is probably my favourite pub in Brighton and the probably the best I have been to because of the food, service, and atmosphere. We were after a good Sunday roast - the Earth & Stars was too busy, the Wagon too empty, but The Victory was just right (I do consider myself as the Goldilocks of roast dinners). We were also attracted to the exotic range of meats on offer. Like the notorious Pub With No Name, zebra, kangaroo and kudu were all on the menu, as well as the norms - beef, lamb etc, plus a veggie toad in the hole. The prices were good too - circa £7.95. The portions were huge, and there was a good range of veg, roasted and mashed, and the food was served up swiftly and by a very friendly waitress. The pub also serves up a good range of food on weekdays, and there's a top notch range of ciders and beers in the fridge and on tap. When it gets too busy around the bar there is an upstairs seating area, and there's a courtyard for the smoking crew. I have now been converted into a Victory regular, and I will be heading back there next Sunday!

The pub itself is spacious, and decorated in that modern style which is fast becoming ubiquitous, of flecked carpet, dark wooden furniture and maroon walls: so not especially atmospheric or interesting, but comfortable enough (and, to be fair, all spotlessly clean - including the Gents' loos). The high point was the real ale selection: Harvey's Sussex Bitter, Hop Back's Summer Lightning, and King & Barnes Sussex Bitter, all well kept. It's quiet at week-ends, but gets busier in the evenings (and very busy for key sporting events, especially if Brighton and Hove Albion FC are playing at home, as the stadium is not far away). Service is friendly and efficient, and prices are pretty reasonable for Brighton. So, not a pub you'd go out of the way for, but fine to pop in, if you are in the area.

The pub has plenty of space and large TVs for watching sport and also a nice new pool table that you can play during half time. There's a fantastic selection of real ales on the bar and one of my favourite ciders - Weston's Traditional Scrumpy. Enjoy it with their lovely bangers and mash! The Pub also offers B&B rooms above but prices vary due to the time of year and amount of people etc. I'm sure its a lot cheaper and more relaxing than staying in the center of town though. The number 5 bus goes just over the road and can drop you directly into the middle of town in no time.

It's a real locals pub as it's tucked away in a residential area not far from Aldrington station. This makes it all the more friendly. It's just so welcoming, friendly, good decor and great food. What's not to like about it !? It has a great range of seating areas from tables of various sizes, to comfy sofas, cozy booths, and an outside seating area (both front and back). In here I have eaten the best roast dinner I have ever tasted. On Sunday I think they only serve roast dinners and you won't be disappointed. I am also a fan of their bangers and mash range. A wide range of fancy flavoured sausages with a choice of mash types and gravy options. I am in heaven!!!! Other friends have eaten the fish dishes here and burgers and everything is really good quality. The perfect place to hang out for a drink. Try out the quiz (on a Monday I think), listen to live music (Friday and Saturdays I believe). The music isn't too loud so you can't hear yourself speak, just a good atmosphere. If you've not been to this pub you have to go. Simple as that!
