The bar has a wide variety of drinks so there's something for everyone! I enjoyed the mermaid punch. The blended pina colada was also good! They also offer food, however I hadn't ordered any. There are a lot of seating/cabana options for rent, I'd advise looking into that. We didn't and we had to look around for some open free seating, but it worked out! I was initially nervous from reading the yelp and google reviews. However, you have to come for yourself. No this isn't a turnt up club party type of place. It's extremely chill, and cool with great drinks and decent food. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed the surfing thing the girls were super helpful. The bartender was dope ! People were friendly. I honestly didn't have a problem at all. I seen a lot of racial comments, however I didn't experience it. The Cove is my favorite place to hangout! Every time I walk in, the admissions staff are very friendly and get me checked in quickly. The food drink selection is great, and the bartenders are very friendly. I could spend hours floating in the lazy river, and there's more than enough noodles for everyone to use while they float. My favorite feature at The Cove is the Proflow surf machine. The surf coaches are awesome, and are very hands on! I never feel nervous when I ride because the coaches are right there to push me in, hold on to me, and are very encouraging. The Cove is amazing! read more

The music is definitely awful, what you see on instagram is not what they actually play. The vibe protectors take it way too serious. Definitely wish they gave you copies of the receipts to see what you spent and in general wasn't a good experience considering my group spent $2k+ here. Very racist establishment, we bought tickets and had cabana's booked as a reservation for today! Already purchased and paid for!! We are a huge african American family and over 45 people where going but the establishment canceled our reservation and refunded our money the night before we were to show up.m which was today. We already have rooms and air bnbs booked and paid for as well. This was an extremely rude, disrespectful, and racist thing to do. They said out of their own mouths in the email that they were getting tagged too much on fb by us and information calls so they canceled. What type of mess is that? But due to them seeing they where getting tagged by over 40 black people for this one weekend they felt it was too much I guess to have that many african Americans under one roof. Racist!!!! I've been seeing this place trending and I thought that it would be a great vibe for my friends birthday. I'm an influencer with lots of followers and wanted to promote the establishment. We booked 2 tables and were coming from over an hour away. We called earlier in the day asking if we could get a bigger table and said that we'd pay more if we can have someone else's table. I believe they took what we said aggressively and made a big deal about it. They called us when were 20 mins away and said that they weren't going to let us in because we were on a party bus which doesn't make sense. (Or because we are black and they thought we'd cause trouble by wanting to buy someone else's table) They refunded us before even calling. None of us are the type to cause trouble. For an establishment to make you feel unwanted or welcomed is never a good thing. I will never in my life support this place and I hope that they learn their lesson because I will happily let everyone know that this place is full of nasty and racist people. I say that because I read the negative reviews and at the end of the day, I don't appreciate liars, exaggerators and people that throw in race to get people to side with them and put a business out of business. I think one family had a bad experience and flooding the comments. And in the off chance this business did have issues in the past and corrected them, good on them. Literally reading the reviews had me second guessing and not wanting to go here but it just didn't sit right with me that this place in college station could be as racist as the racism reported in Jasper, Texas. The we that they described this place, I imagined no black people here and getting dirty looks. That was far from the truth--literally everything that was said. 1) "They follow you to the car." Literally, no one gets in and out privileges to the venue. Escorting you to the car is their way of getting around that rule in case someone legitimately forgets something. It's a COLLEGE town. The venue is in COLLEGE station and the Texas A&M campus is within 5mins. They don't want people sneaking in alcohol and getting hammered drunk and then being accountable for it. 2) "They called the police on me." They have one security guard in police uniform next to admissions the whole time. 3) "They watch me the whole time." Their security folks stand in locations around the venue the whole time. They don't single anyone out. 4) "I got terrible service at the bar." They stay busy but they still work hard to get everyone drinks. We had three bartenders check on us in my party within the time we were at the bar drinking 2 drinks. 5) "The music sucks." they literally play every genre of music to appeal to a diverse crowd. All in all it was a good time and there were a LOT of black people there. Like half their patrons. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. Writing this late but I visited a couple of weeks ago. The place is great and everything is super nice. However, I couldn't help but notice an employee's behavior. Her name was Katie and she was rude to other employees in front of us! It was a busy weekend but she's highly unprofessional. If you want to say something to someone, you come closer to them not yell at the front desk people from over the counter that too in front of your guests. The girls at the front looked nothing but shocked at her behavior. For a place that constantly talks about safeguarding good vibes for guests AND employees, the latter sure aren't experiencing them. My wife and I like to check this place out at least 2x a year; in the peak season of summer when it's busier and the final "hibernation" weekend when it's slower, but the water is still warm enough, to get the best of both worlds. Overall, a 3 star rating from us. So since it's "OK", we're willing to put in the time for a 3 hr drive from Dallas. For a 5 star rating, 3 suggestions: 1. Add some songs from the 80s and 90s to the play mix. 2. Add to the drink (cocktail) menu. 3. Keep things maintained or have replaced; signs of wear and tear already with the blue floats and a locking device to store belongings wasn't working during our last visit. *One big suggestion to anyone coming for the first time, especially during the hotter months (June-Aug): Bring sandals, crocs, etc. to protect your feet from the VERY HOT synthetic turf area, for playing games, and/or crossing to get to the cabanas and bungalows. read more
