Small comedy venue with super friendly staff. I originally bought tickets to the 7 pm Will Burkart show, but when more friends joined last minute, the staff quickly switched us to the 9 pm so we could all sit together. Much appreciated! The food and drinks are just okay, but there's a cute patio out back that adds to the charm.

Came to see a comedy show and was surprised to find out how the Creek and the Cave was more welcoming and comfortable than the outside. Small tables where you can order food and drinks from the table, and a private bar in the back if you want to show up beforehand for a drink. Each show has about 15-20 comedians that give about 5 minutes of jokes. Good, but also challenging to remember everyone's names and their jokes after the show. Our bachelorette group had a difficult time trying to reminisce on the show haha.

It was our first visit to this venue and we loved the comedians we were able to see. Easy to find location on 7th street but we decided to Uber because of the parking situation. I'm not comfortable with street parking but there are some spots to try that. Highly recommend the salsa- we learned the menu was curated and designed by the chef. This salsa has a cucumber/tomato base. It's got tons of flavor and tastes really fresh. The servers here were quick and before the show had some time to answer questions. This comedy club has something going on 7 days a week- we will definitely be back!

This is a special shout out to the baldheaded doorman who was super super pleasant to me last night. I wanted to get into the 7 o'clock SOLD OUT show and he let me wait and he kept me updated. There ended up being no seating so I came back for the 9 o'clock show. I waited for Hannah Einbinder to come out after the show and asked a few of the staff about it, everyone was very polite, and although I didn't get to meet her, my experience here was above outstanding and I will surely come back. I was extra excited that there was not a drink minimum and I did want a cup of coffee and I was very happy that the coffee was delicious. This is always a bonus at a bar. Bald headed doorman--KEEP BEING YOU!!! ---great menu with great non-alcohol options ----I did not like the chairs but maybe the "lean back" was the point

Really neat club. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Saw 2 great comics and 1 that was just ok(I may not have been target audience) Will definitely go back next time in Austin.

Had a great time seeing Joe Rogan last week at the Creek and the Cave. Tickets were $35, and the venue only tacked on like $3 for a ticketing fee. No issues getting in, and I got a great spot at a table near the stage. Was rolling solo, so I decided to treat myself to a cocktail. Matthew was my server and he was great, and I was shocked that an Old Fashioned was only priced at $8.25. Even more shockingly, it was delicious! I had a second drink, the Honey Cave, which I didn't enjoy quite as much but was still good. My only issue was he brought me the check and walked away and I had a touchless payment option... except they took our phones away so I had no way to pay. They added a 25% gratuity to the card I gave when I arrived, which is fine, except that's less than I would have tipped Matthew. All in all a fun night and I can't wait to see another show there.

This is my first ever comedy club here in Austin, Texas and it truly was an experience! My partner and I we saw Jon Dore and he was truly hysterical! I've seen him on a few shows before haha. The creek and the cave has both an outdoor and indoor venue for different shows we only got to be in the inside portion which was completely fine. The service was outstanding the servers and bartenders are on top of all the guests before, during, and after the performance. Really famous comedians perform here at this comedy club and we highly recommend this one for sure ^.^ P.S - Parking is a little hectic due to the street parking so I suggest taking a Lyft or an Uber.

    Late Night Mic Happy Hour on Sun/Mon from 10pm - 2am, and Tues - Thurs from 12-2am. $4 Domestic/Import, $5 Craft Beer, & $6 Wells drinks !

Ask the Community - The Creek and The Cave

    Is there a drink minimum?

    Nope!

Does the venue usually sell out or can I get tickets day of?

Depends on the day of the week and who's performing. Most weekday shows you can get tickets there.

Do you have to give your phone up?

I've been three times and never had to give up mine. I'm sure it depends on the act, but doubt it.

I was back on Tuesday for The Filthy Show which reminded me of late 80's early 90's comedy (NSFW).

Scoped out the venue which was bigger than anticipated and really enjoyed the fish tank TVs. So fun! The show was entertaining and up to date with references all relevant to the current times. Security guard makes a really dumb statement as he touches my leg-- "hmm did you have surgery recently?" WTF? Bro get your fuggin hand off my leg you creep. Not okay. Then we get seated. 2 drink minimum. Wait staff was rude. I had the light on to call the server...no one came. I waved down a server who was helping a group directly in front of me...she snarkily said I have to leave my light on and that MY server would come to take my order. My server never came back except to hand me the closing check. I try to explain to her that I never got my second drink. She said oh well, last call passed (which she never told me). I ask for a receipt and she doesn't give it. I leave no tip. My charge was about 18.50. I look at my card statement the next day and it was rounded up to $20. What's so funny about this...after I told her the situation about the drink and we had no resolution...she literally went to the group on the left of me, and brought the guy a drink that he never received either! I thought the bar was closed??? Where is my drink??? Terrible. As for the comedy. They sucked. From the opener doing some lame "Robert De Niro" impression, to Brian Simpson (a pro). The jokes were not funny in the slightest. The audience didn't really laugh either. Overall, this was my 2nd time here and the negative experience is too much to look over. 2 stars.

Good variety of comedians come through here and they sell tall boy beers for like $7 or $8 which isn't bad.

Let me tell you, he was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. My wife and I were dying laughing the whole time. He's a genuinely talented comedian and deserves sold-out crowds. If Cory B comes through Austin again, do yourself a favor and go see him--you won't be disappointed. Now, onto the venue and menu: Started with an espresso martini--solid but nothing fancy. Strong pour (bartender was generous!), but the balance could be better. I'd give it a 6.8/10. Tried the Love Potion next--much better, really enjoyable. Solid 7/10. Appetizer: bacon mac and cheese balls--not our favorite. They weren't very hot, had a strange texture, and just felt off overall. Around a 5.5/10 for us. My wife got chicken tenders and fries as a snack--classic frozen bar food, but perfectly fine for munching during the show. A steady 6/10. Service was excellent--our server was super attentive, quick, and on top of everything. We never waited long for drinks or food. The venue itself is great for comedy, the show was fantastic, the drinks were good, and the food was... mid. But honestly, you're not there for the food. My advice: eat a solid meal beforehand if you're picky about eats, then come ready to laugh. Overall, an awesome night and a memorable birthday. We're already looking for our next show at this spot!
