Double Bay is generally good for some things - coffee, one or two stores, walking, cake (Simone Logue), if its you're lucky day, food; and not others - no suburban buzz except for on the weekend and only then strictly inside some cafes, no variety, not enough stores that cater to the under-50 crowd and if it's not your lucky day (and how many days does one really get lucky?) no good food. Bar one place. This deli. You may miss it - it can be as quiet as any store in Double Bay within a 3 block radius - so look INSIDE the stores rather than AT them from a little distance and you'll find it. It's kind of cute but mostly orderly and quaint and there's cheese on offer as well as different kinds of bread and pasta and chocolate and really yummy take-away baguettes that have ham and cheese in them or you can have them with prosciutto or pastrami. The staff are also very nice. read more
