I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet. I love Reform!…read more This is a pilates-esque workout on a contraption called the Reformer. You pick how hard it is based on some adjustments you can make to the machine. The workouts are 25 minutes each (includes upper+core or lower+core), or you can opt for a "double" which is just 2 classes back-to-back. I'm glad the classes aren't longer because the workout is so challenging that anything more would level me. The instructors are all so nice, and super willing to help you get to know what you're doing. The class sizes are small (10? 12?), and you get lots of individual attention. You do have to buy some grippy socks. If you have yoga socks with the grips on the bottom, that'll probably suffice. I saw someone with those neon pink grip socks you get at the trampoline park. They're pretty chill about it. I think if you sign up for an introductory class, you get some free socks with it too. The facility is nice and new, and there is free parking available. There are also free lockers in the facility. I think there are some additional services, like body composition testing, but I don't know too much about that. Anyway, if you're into fun fitness classes that are motivating and make you feel like Britney in 2003, go on and give Reform a try.

I had been lucky enough to have used a mega reformer in Toronto and when visiting my parents, was introduced to this awesome place. I can safely safe I'm hooked! The workouts kick my butt every time. The best part is that no matter what level you are, beginner to advanced, there are always modifications or ways to make the workout more challenging or scale it down. If you're looking for a workout that gets results, offers a motivating environment and supportive community, I highly recommend trying a class or two. You may end up hooked too! :)

I started doing Pilates because I hadn't tried it, thought it might help my core strength, and probably wouldn't hurt my feet. I didn't anticipate that it would help my feet. As a result of the core stability that I've gained, I have started running again and am over-the-moon. Everyone that I have interacted with at Pilates Space has been great, whether it's Laura and Charlie responding to my emails, doing private sessions with Charlie and Nataliya, or doing duet classes with Charlie and Jane. Charlie took a particular interest in my foot issues and made some recommendations on Melt Method techniques I could use to alleviate the tension, which I have used at home with great success. At first I didn't like that I needed to complete and Intro program to be able to participate in group classes, but after doing the program I realized it's value: I learned a lot, I met a number of instructors, and now that I know how classes progress, I won't be a nuisance with too many questions. I have always found the space to be clean and the lockers (in the women's change room, at least) have key locks available for free - note: not all the lockers have locks, so you might to have a back-up lock with you. I'm not a Pilates guru but I like being in places where I feel valued and appreciated and where other class members talk to each other, and I get this from Pilates Space.

Motion Matters physiotherapists are awesome. They are well trained, personable and really want to…read morehelp you feel better. I made an appointment with Motion Matters when pain in my knee and IT band stuck around for a couple months. As a runner I knew this was a fairly common problem but I wanted to find the cause and correct it before it got any worst. When I called Motion Matters they were able to get my an appointment within a week. Upon arriving for the first time they had me fill out 2 or 3 sheets of paper asking standard questions: "why are you here?" "How long has it hurt? "what else have you tried? "Did you get referred here by a physician?" etc. My physiotherapist introduced himself and asked some more specific questions about my injury and history as a runner. After a 5-10 minute chat we started a 40 minute long diagnostic checking my biomechanics for weaknesses and imbalances. When it was all done he gave me a list of 5-10 stretches and exercises to work on before my next appointment and we ended the session with a 5 minute deep tissue massage of the area. The second appointment was much more running focused. It was a shorter session, 30 minutes, and most of the time was spent on a treadmill running at various speeds while the physiotherapist recorded my gait. After running we looked at the video in slow motion to examine my foot fall and see what might have been causing the problem. He noticed a few things right away that I needed to work on and put me back on the treadmill to work on those issues so I could feel the difference. It was really nice getting instant feedback like this during my session. Once again I left with some drill and stretches to work on at home and he emailed me a copy of the videos of me on the treadmill. My knee and IT band feel much better now than when I started going to Motion Matters. I still get some tightness after long runs but I am fairly sure of the cause now and know what I need to keep doing to prevent it from getting too painful. Motion Matters doesn't do direct billing with your insurance so you need to pay yourself then resubmit the claim. An hour long session is around $90 and they'll give you an extra receipt at reception if you ask. Be sure to arrive 10 minutes early since you always have to wait a few minutes no matter what time you arrive. The waiting room has a tv and magazines at least.

Great experience at this clinic. My only dislike was that the treatment area was open concept with curtains - I am a greater fan of private treatment rooms.
