Not bad coffee, not great cookies Wanted to try a local place while in Ohio, this was the only location open in the area at the time. So I made the trek to try their coffee. Place is decorated well, lots of seating. The cashier/barista was friendly and helpful. They have coffee but it's only a portion of what they do. Most of their menu was going over their food options rather than their drinks. I opted for a toasted marshmallow latte and a cookie warmed up. I got my latte and took some sips. The latte was very light on coffee flavor. Mostly got milk and light sweetness of marshmallow. The cookie was over warmed, became crumbly and was not very flavorful. Price was a little high, but about them same as an average Starbucks order. As a local shop, it meets the requirements of a standard coffee place. It's nothing special, but functional. read more

The bagels here are awesome! My bacon, egg and cheese on a sesame was loaded with bacon and the scrambled egg was browned just enough. They offered four varieties of coffee, self serve, all of which were unique and piping hot. We took our food to go, but were tempted to stay in the cozy dining area. The Daily Cafe and Breakfast at Brookgate Shopping Center in Brook Park has been open for awhile but I never thought of trying it. I only had an hour so I decided to check it out. I wanted something quick and not too filling and decided to order the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant and the blueberry lavender lemonade. The croissant and bacon were a little soggy but everything else was perfect. The restrooms were clean and nicely decorated and the restaurant was very clean with plenty of booths, benches and tables for comfortable seating. I ordered the ham, cheese, egg on an English muffin sandwich. The ham was browned and was much larger than the English muffin, the egg was folded style and had to of been two. It was a heavy sandwich with plenty of filling and cheese. Price rivals fast food, I would absolutely order this again. Highly recommend. read more

What a treat this cafe is! My daughter and I stopped in and had breakfast (avocado toast for her and bacon, egg, & cheese croissant for me)! Both were very good! The employees were so nice, although I'm not sure if they were training or not, but there seemed to be a lot of workers and maybe one of them could have run out to the dining room to wipe off the tables. The shop was decorated so cute, and once I realized that the wallpaper was actually newspaper articles - i realized how clever the decor was and how fitting the name of the cafe was! I looked up coffee shops near my meeting and decided to stop in. I was immediately greeted and told the menu was recently updated so take my time and make a selection. I chose an iced mocha latte with vanilla flavoring and a bacon/egg/cheese on crossaint. It took about 10 mins for my order to be ready and it was worth the wait. My coffee was great and helped me through my early morning meeting. The sandwich smelled so good I had to open the box while at a stoplight. The crossaint was buttery and flaky. The bacon was crisp and thick cut. A great place to stop in for a quick breakfast and they had a display full of pastries that I will try the next time I'm in the area. read more

The food was fresh and tasty - our table tried a coffee, a smoothie, a tomato and mozzarella panini, and croissant breakfast sandwich, and a salad. Came here for breakfast with my husband and they did not disappoint! The burrito was delicious and a little under seasoned but nothing a little salt and pepper or hot sauce couldn't cure. The service was fast and their coffee was pretty good. It was nice and bright inside. Very clean and quiet. I'm not sure if this place gets really busy but they have a great selection for breakfast/brunch. When we got here it was just us two, but they have plenty of parking for when they do get busy. The burrito left a little to be desired. There wasn't much seasoning to it. I tried several selections on their menu, both breakfast and lunch. The breakfast burrito is super lackluster and totally needs salsa and several other things to give it flavor. Moving on, the club sandwich doesn't even have mayo. Instead it has some onion marmalade that is ok but I'm sorry.... all clubs need at least mayo... put your marmalade on in addition but at least put mayo. And also cut your bread to the right ratios (wayyy too thick of bread) and for the love of god, toast it. Next we have the Weekender. It's a regular breakfast platter. Nothing special, not good, not bad.... did I really eat anything at all? Oh wait I ate HuGE bread slices.... again cut your bread to normal sizes. The only time bread needs to be that thick is when its done as French toast.... which THEY DONT OFFER wtf guys!. Lastly the double chocolate chunk cookies... warmed. Ok there are two ways to do cookies... hard or soft... bc they warmed a hard cookie... it got unevenly soft and hard in places. I am of the opinion that hard cookies are like biscotti and need to be dunked... these were just a mess. I'm sorry but it was not good. read more

I've been to the cafe once before and had a good experience, however not so much today. I ordered the Classic Club no mayo. The description on the menu is: Turkey, bacon, ham, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and roasted onion marmalade. Sounds delicious. What I got was not the Classic Club. I was given turkey, ham, lettuce and tomato. No bacon, no cheese no roasted marmalade. This review is not about the restaurant but about their food truck. We attended a car show at Education Alternatives on Friday night. We approached the food truck to order and the young woman who was taking the orders walked away from the truck (this was less than half an hour after they opened at 5PM) to look at cars. The cook could not take our order, he asked us to come back in a few minutes. When we returned we asked what they had because there is no menu, she said hamburgers and fries and soda. We ordered two cheeseburgers, fries and two pepsi's and were told that it would be about 10 minutes. We came back picked up the boxes, went back to our car, opened the boxes to dry cheeseburgers, no toppings, no condiments, no napkins. So we went back up to the truck and I said I was unaware that the food came with absolutely nothing on it, could we get some lettuce, tomato, onion and some condiments. The cook very rudely asked me if I had ordered condiments, I replied I was not asked what we would like on our burgers, we took it for granted that they came with everything on them. The server/order taker/manager? then said "It's only common sense that there wouldn't be anything on them" , and I said "no it's common sense for a server to ask what you would like on your burger". There was no menu, napkins or condiments anywhere around the food truck and there is a flip up table where they could easily put a napkin dispenser, condiments packets and a menu noting that you must order exactly what you want on your food. We have been to many restaurants and car shows that offer food, we are either asked what we want on our burgers or everything comes on them or is available at or near the grill. I was appauled at the rudeness of the cook and disrespect of the so called "Manager". If this is the kind of employee that this place hires, we will not be patronizing this food truck or their establishment in the future, nor will anyone we attend shows with. read more

Stopped by at around 8:10 this morning to pick up a slice of cake for a co-workers birthday. Ordered a slice if the Red Velvet Cake. Got to work opened the box and the slice of cake was not Red Velvet. It was a chocolate layer cake with 3 layers of cake with a chocolate frosting layer and a white frosting layer. We really loved the combination of tables, booths, half booth/tables, and open area with couches... some out in the open and some kind of secluded for quieter conversation or privacy. Been meaning to try this little newbie restaurant as I watched it be refurbished from the old place that was here and I'm here today for a chicken salad on a croissant, broccoli cheddar soup, and expensive bottles water (all they carry) all served with a dill pickle spear. The presentation of the food was great. The ambience of the place is great but $22 for what I just described was a bit much. The soup didn't have a whole Lotta flavor. It was served in a square 'bowl' which was cute. The chicken salad had undercooked chicken which was also tough and some flavors I couldn't detect.
