Homemade corned beef hash, eggs, home fries and toast.
    Jamie G.

I've been going to this plus be for years. It's such a great breakfast spot that it's extremely popular. The menu has a great selection of breakfast foods from pancakes to eggs to omletes to waffles. The service quality and food quality are always top notch. The last time I visited here I had the homemade corned beef hash with eggs. It was excellent. The only watch outs are that it is a bit on the pricey side for breakfast. However, the service and quality make up for that, in my opinion. The second is that it can get very crowded, especially on Sundays. Just be aware there will probably be a wait. This place is popular for a reason!

The atmosphere was top-notch and totally gave off Gilmore Girls Luke's Café vibes. We sat at the bar and the service was amazing. I had the lobster Benedict and it was fantastic. I'd order it every time.

SERVICE While this place is usually packed, we walked in just after the weekday specials hour at 8:15AM and were immediately seated in our booth of choice. We were given menus and our coffee and requested waters were quickly filled. Our orders were quickly taken. Waiting benches indoor match the vibe and are right across the cafe bar area. Bathrooms were clean, with towels, and had hooks for bags, which is a nice feature. AMBIANCE The spot is fairly large with both booth, dining room, bar, and patio seating with ample parking lot room. There's a cute, diner feel with the "daily paper" menu and blackboard with specials. It's packed on other occasions but still quiet enough for conversation with dining partners. FOOD We ordered a variety of the eggs any style with our chosen sides of toast and fries or grits or beans. It took about 10-15 minutes to get our food, which was delivered correctly! Overall, a solid spot for the price point with a variety of breakfast (sweet and savory) and lunch fixes. Our coffee was refilled twice but required some flag down due to busy-ness, but otherwise service was quick.

came here early to avoid the crowds - this is a spot we've always wanted to hit but have never gotten a chance to due to how crowded it is. great diner style, big open space - great prices and good for breakfast. i was feeling healthy this morning and opted for the grilled tomato and spinach eggs benedict and it was delicious! buttermilk pancakes were large and satisfied the craving my partner had. overall a great time and recommend coming if you can, good american breakfast!

    Corned beef hash Benny.

The corned beef hash Benny was large and tasty. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. Could have drank a cup it was so good. Sat at counter and got offered for my drink choice almost immediately. Food came up fairly quickly. Decor was modern but place had a homey diner feel. All the plates I saw come out of the kitchen were large and visually appealing. Best of all, the kitchen staff made it a point to prompt the crew to deliver dishes as soon as they come up.

We had a nice brunch here on Sunday before Labor Day. It was busy but we were seated in about 25 mins. On sundays they only serve the breakfast menu, but there's plenty to choose from. Coffee and drinks come out right away and the food comes out relatively fast, everything cooked to order and fresh. Good service, friendly staff. I can see why this place is a favorite. The biggest plus is the parking lot! So no worrying about finding parking. Food was good, generous portions and great price point. Everything you're looking for in a breakfast/brunch place.

The sausage, eggs, and potatoes that come with the Donut French Toast.

Always bustling, get there early or be prepared to wait. Especially during weekends. A friend and I arrived about 8:30 AM for Sunday breakfast and not only did we get a parking spot but were also seated fairly quickly with menus and a good sight line to the specials board. Our server had us set up with coffee and water in good time to consider our selections. I almost went with the homemade Corned Beef Hash until I noticed the Donut French Toast. OMG, it was fantastic. Portion size is generous, the sausage, eggs, and potatoes arrived on a plate separate from three slices(?) of french toast. No syrup was required and I shared a slice with my breakfast mate without feeling any loss. As for her, she now wants to go back just for the Donut French Toast. And I wouldn't say no to the Homemade Hash. Overall the service is quick and the coffee plentiful. The Morning Paper is alway a mandatory destination for breakfast when I visit the Cape. Bon Apetit

    Pepper and bacon omelette

A local place that always seems to be bustling. When we arrived, we were told a 25-30 minute wait. We were seated in under 15 and our waitress got to us immediately. The food was sizable without being too much. The omelette was cooked perfectly and the home fries were delicious. Unfortunately, they do not serve French fries. The burrito was good but could have used more bacon and jalapeño, but was a big portion. The stuffed French toast presented well but you couldn't really taste the coconut or cinnamon. Not too bad though. The homemade hash was cooked perfectly and I would highly recommend. Although the place was bustling, it wasn't too loud and you didn't really feel cramped. It's classic New England-Americana vibes and it's a great local place to visit.

    New Year's specials. I ordered #3.

NEW YEAR'S SPECIAL OPENING HYANNIS, MA (Reported by Steve A.) Extra, extra! Read all about it! Restaurant actually open on New Years! Restaurant full of patrons and willing to accept Yelp Elite! This reporter was granted the star seating in the diner, the first table just past the hostess stand. It was also the only open table, and later guests faced a wait in the middle of winter in the middle of Cape Cod. That is how you know this place is loved by locals. Despite the crowd, service was prompt and friendly for our entire visit. Our server was very open, noting that my chosen cornbread had an upcharge to replace the toast that came with my omelette. (Only $1.50, so absolutely make that change and get yourself that muffin!) She also offered several hot sauces for my choosing upon ordering the omelette, and I heard many other tables ordering the same Cholula for theirs. The star of this report is fresh ingredients. The omelette was hot and fluffy, stuffed full of ingredients. I don't mind that the cheese pooled in one side, since it was delicious white cheddar that pointed to "cheddar" not just being a storebought lower-quality block. Excellent omelette, but I must issue a full report: the home fries were rather plain tasting, and the sausage was but a link sausage. I did not catch that this was not the andouille sausage offered elsewhere on the menu, but I am sure they could have switched the sausages for the one I really wanted. New headline: LARGER SLICES BEAT LINK CHUNKS. The corn muffin had excellent flavor but was a little dry, as corn often does. Does not change my recommendation to order a muffin. Looking for a lede? How about "Dine En Masse at Diner In Mass."?

Pretty good breakfast. Very busy and crowded on top of your neighbor type seating! Grits too watery. 3.5 out of 5 stars

This is the place to go for breakfast on Cape Cod! The food is delicious and you don't have to wait very long! I recommend this for everybody!

Special omelet: Sausage, caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheddar. So good!

The Daily Paper is now my go-to breakfast spot on the Cape. To be transparent, it didn't used to be but I believe it's become more consistent and more delicious over the years. We came often and are never disappointed. I tend to order their omelet specials, but branch out occasionally to the smoked salmon plate or a benedict. Never unhappy. I also love their english muffins and their coffee! If you want yummy, reasonably priced breakfast, this is your spot!

The interior is pretty basic, small tables and small chairs, so a person of substance such as myself didn't find the seating comfortable. I tried: - French onion soup: this should have been an easy win. I found the Gruyere cheese to be overly thick, and the broth to be heavy handed on the wine. - Steak tartare: this was a good dish. The beef was thin cut, smooth, and the egg was cooked just right so the yolk added richness that then got offset by the capers. Due to the richness, you may actually find that this could be all you need for a meal, despite it looking small. - Croque Madame: le sigh, what a failure this sandwich was. Over easy egg? Not today, over medium, so not much runny yolk but a thicker one. This is a gigantic salt bomb, in addition. They serve your water in tiny glasses and every bite led to downing an entire glass of water. It's good they were on top of refilling the glasses, but even then I finished a quarter of this before I couldn't take it any more. I did saunter over to the counter where they have a lot of good looking pastries, so we'll see if the ones I bought end up redeeming this place. As it stands, I can't recommend this establishment unless you'd like to try the tartare.

We also tried the meatloaf, and it genuinely reminded us of our grandmother's from years ago -- comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. That's not something you find everywhere.
