Whenever I have to travel to Sandersville for work, I make a point to stop at the Dairy Lane. Yesterday, I had a chili dog at this place for the first time, and I was not disappointed. Drove an hour to try this place. Checked in on yelp. Drove by and it was empty. Confused, we drove by and saw a car in the drive thru. Pulled in to park. *Drive thru only* sign in the window. Not the best food ever, but sometimes it's just what's needed. 2 burgers, fries, and a drink for 10 bucks can't be beat.

Anytime I visit, it's a must that I stop for a cheese dog, onion rings, and cherry sprite. They have many other things on the menu I've eaten over the course of my life and I haven't had an experience awful or bad enough that required a manager or me to comment on here. It's a good place to stop by and grab a meal. Prices are also very convenient. They do have a drive thru...added it for a while now. So you do have to option to go that route if you don't want to go in or dine in. If you're ever in the middle georgia area and pass thru I suggest stopping by. But, Of course I'll be back. read more

Why go to mcdonald's when this is 2 minutes down the street!! The prices are updated from the pictures on here but we still got the 2 cheeseburgers combo and an order of cheese fries for only $8! The restaurant is definitely a little scary on the outside, but I am glad we didnt go somewhere else because we ended up coming back the next day for the same thing! read more

First time visit 7/15/23. Overall, what I expected. Disappointed drive thru only, but the pick up window moved very quickly. Service was efficient. Two cheeseburgers, onion rings, and peach milkshake. Burgers were stuck to paper wrappers. Same with o-rings. Burgers were heavy with mayo. Appropriately priced for size and quality. Nothing special. Peach milkshake was really good. Much better than fast food chains. I really like local places like this. Unfortunately too many are closing. read more

If you are ever taking the back roads through rural Georgia heading down to the coast then The Dairy Lane will hopefully be a reward for those taking the roads less travel and supporting local economies through mom and pop shops. Anyways, pardon my socio-economic commentary. The previous reviewer is quite right, you have to know what to order. My favorite is the Chili-cheese dog. First off, let me explain that I usually really really don't like chili-cheese dogs. Most places always use generic chili with chunks of under-seasoned ground beef, bland kidney beans, and use the painfully dull "chili/salt" powder mystery box. Not only is this bad chili, but its also not a chili designed for hot dogs. If you notice, most condiments are small and easy to place on top of the hot dog. Thus, why would one place a chunky bland soup essentially over a hot dog. It also doesn't help most buns are semi-stale and dries up any liquid the chili dog did have. Basically, the chili doesn't stand a chance. However, since I have such a low regard for chili-cheese dog I was so blown away by their chili-cheese dog. Maybe I am little at fault since I never order chili-cheese dogs anywhere and this place might the same as "whatever your favorite place" is. ***Skip to the Point Part*** The chili-cheese seems to be a made out of a natural all beef hot dog. Its not as pepper as a regular hot dog, much more mellow of a taste. It is topped with a chili meant to be poured on top of a hot dog as it made of really finely minced meat, no beans, and fits in between the two buns without spilling over. It also has pieces of melted Kraft single cheese. The bun is also steamed. This all results in a very almost sweet mellow chili-cheese dog that melts in your mouth. Very very delicious. Not the kind of the dog that will give you heart-burn or one that leaves you feel like you just ate a whole cow, or whatever hot dogs are made out of. Cheeseburgers also very good, kind of like the Krystal or White Castle ones. Don't forget to try their milkshakes and blasts, much more like a custard. Don't let the outside foot you. I know its not a sleek as some of the McCafes but this place is awesome. It looks like a place Friday Night Lights would have hung out in with its framed football jerseys some of hometown heroes. Plenty of parking and a very friendly staff. read more

This place has everything you could ever want from a simple restaurant in the South. Just imagine the Varsity, but without the pain that usually comes afterwards from dining there. The food is all pretty simple, but good. The brunswick stew is great here! I usually go with a chili covered something, some brunswick stew, and maybe a shake. The desserts here are really good too. One of my favorite spots in the south to go to for milkshakes, cheese dogs and chili cheese fries. Use to come here often in the 90s when I was a kid, there vanilla milkshakes are just so godlike that I just can forget about this place. A very cool little joint. Customer service is great. The food is typical greasy food drive up diner type, but they do it really well. The cheeseburgers, fries, and chili dogs are comparable to The Varsity except WAY better prices. The Chocolate Milkshake made my day. Perfectly blended and flavored. Had a big group of teenagers (33) and service was very good for the rush. The $5 t-shirts are a steal of a deal. Can't wait to go back to Sandersville for more of The Dairylane! read more

I've been going here since I was a little girl. I'm not from Sandersville but my family is. And I must say in 30 years they really have not done a thing to the place. Please, please please please for the love of all that is holy among ice cream and hamburger and hotdog vendors, change! Renovate! PLEASE RENOVATE. I hear ya, "renovating is expensive business" -but I still am appalled that it passes health inspections after every time I go in. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to buy delicious hotdogs and eat your delicious ice cream until I die but sometimes it's hard to wrap my head around once I've seen the interior of the Dairy Lane every time I go. My mom is from Sandersville, born in 1956. And when she says the dairy Lane has not changed, it has not changed!!!!
