WORST POSSIBLE RESTAURANT, avoid / stay away, you have been warned!! We went there today for a meal 10 minutes before the place opened, and wasnt allowed in, so we waited outside in the rain whilst the staff sat comfortably inside. Okay, no problem.....so we walked around and came back when they opened. No smiles, a cold welcome we thought. We sat nevertheless, in very cramped seats (looked as though they are trying to get the last drop out of the place) and looked at the menu to order, and shortly afterwards the waiter (rather rude guy I'd say) came over. We were the only ones in the restaurant and we gave in our orders, which is when the rude waiter started his "upselling" routine - we ordered one mains, 2 rice dishes and some drinks and said we will order more shortly. However before we could go on finishing our order the rude waiter interrupted us and forced us to order a significantly greater number of dishes saying that "its difficult for us if you dont order minimum 2 mains per person" and said instead "we rather have this place completely empty than serve you". We were SHOCKED to hear such language as the place was empty and we were about to order about 13quid worth of food (with more to come) and we were then kicked out of the restaurant with the words "we need our table back".
The restaurant was completely empty, and we felt very very insulted with such behaviour. They were talking in Seleti language amongst themselves and I could say no more than the fact that they were simply THUGS dressed in waiter clothes. Heck, ive met thugs and they were more polite and friendly than these people were. Btw, throughout the conversation the rude waiter shouted at us and we were rather flabbergasted .
Other observations:
1) Wall paint was running thin and peeling off, possibly a food, health and safety issue.
2) Some staff spoke very little english or did not speak at all, possibly illegal
3) They claimed to be Indian but were in fact a sub-culture of Bangladesh called Seleti, be-smirching the name/face of Indian cuisine
4) They spoke to us in very threatening voices, and preferred the place empty - perhaps a place of illicit activities?
5) Never have I (we) seen such rude/crude behaviour anyway, let alone a blatant disrespect to customers. "Customer service" is not in their vocabulary. First time I have been kicked out of anything in my life, especially when I have gone in to spend about 20 quid or so for food
In short, save your money and eat elsewhere, do not give your customs to this place and certainly do not order from their take-away menu. I would not be surprised if they spat in your food if the phone conversation did not go smoothly or if you complained about delays in the delivery. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more
