Short walk puts us here. Inside & outside seating. Our table is ready after about 30 mins. The interior is aged, wood look tile, maybe repurposed red brick, external electrical wiring run thru conduits. If it isn't old it sure looks it. Business is packed, service is slow( as expected) and servers are running. Drinks show up - ice tea in a carafe. Bonus I don't have to track someone down for refills. Lotsa choices on a 2-sided menu. Breakfast - Mexicana Omelet, and lunch Crab Cake Sandwich for my wife. The omelet came out warm, not hot. I'm going to attribute it to the level of business. Seems everyone was trying to get food out. The omelet was tasty and had a decent amount of ingredients. A red sauce topping enhanced the flavor, not over powered it. The Crab Cake was equally delicious. The cake was moist, not over grilled. There was a nice sized portion of avocado among the other greens. The chipotle mayo added a little kick to the taste. We were able to waltz into The Delectable Egg around 9 AM on a Monday morning and be seated immediately, which is good when you have two cranky kids in tow. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is very kid friendly with crayons and coloring menus for the kids as well as wikkistix which kept my 4 yo super ent I had the French Toast Royale and it was awesome. The brioche French toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Our server recommended their sausage links and she was right, they were very good. My husband had a version of the eggs Benedict which he said was good, but he wished he had gotten the French Toast Royale. Seriously, if you like French toast it's very good. I wish we would have had a bit of a better experience here, but I gotta be honest when it comes to everything. We used Yelp waitlist for a party of about 7. While we know it was a bigger group, it's exactly why we decided to use Yelp waitlist. When we got to the restaurant from our hotel, we checked in with the hostess and still had a bit of a wait, which was totally fine. What was a bit irritating was that we waited an additional half hour on top of our table being "ready." The restaurant kept seating people near the tables they were going to push together for us. Just a lack of communication, and we didn't even really get an apology. Just like an "oh, you're next" even though we had a few people seated after being told that. When we were seated, we were told that basically if we wanted to do bottomless, we had 40 minutes to drink it because they stop serving it about 15-30minutes before they close. Seemed odd, because if we were seated when we were supposed to be, we would have been able to enjoy bottomless. Oh well, we just each got one mimosa because we figured it's not a ton of fun to hammer down drinks that quickly haha. Beyond that, our food was pretty good and I can see why this is a popular spot. I got eggs benny, which was delish. My husband also really liked his meal, too. Our server was pretty good and she split our checks up super easy at the end of our meal, which was awesome. Again, I think maybe it was a bit of an off day, but maybe some type of apology would have been nice? In addition to Yelp waitlist, we ended up waiting about an hour total for our table, even by getting ahead in line with it.
