Very bad experience. Was told by dentist I need all sorts of work that was going to cost $5000.00. I had infection under my bridge and would have to have a root canal done first which they could not do but an associate could then I was suppose to return to have a new bridge made. Before all that I would have to have a deep cleaning. I went in to get teeth cleaned. I was going to my family dentist in another city where I just moved from to Ocala. Meant every4 months and did not have any problems. I refused their service asked what I owed all of it. Was told $85.00. I paid it and went back to family dentist who is 1 1/2 hours away. He checked my teeth and did erays and found no infection and said I did not nerd a deep cleaning. It was all a scam to get money. Then they didn't use my insurance to bill for xrays. They sent me a bill for $290.00. read more

I'm not a new patient. I've had 2 appointments prior to this. I had an appointment scheduled for Friday morning. I called the office back Thursday afternoon to confirm my appointment. I arrive Friday morning and they told me I never confirmed my appointment and that they cannot fit me in. They even tried stating they called at 8 AM the day of my appointment. I was awake at 7 AM, no missed calls on my phone. I drove 30 minutes into town for no reason and now have to drive ANOTHER 30 minutes into town next week for my re-scheduled appointment. I wanted a regular cleaning - Hygienist refused. She said I needed a periodontal cleaning. As it was not covered by insurance and I was good with a regular cleaning. She refused to do it. I was very unhappy as I felt this was my decision to make and not hers. We will not be back! read more

Very bad experience these people did not check to see if you prequalified to get the work done. They just bill you they do a hack job. they have kids working on your mouth. Never Again! Buyer Beware! I went to The Dentist Place to have 1 tooth extracted. They did not extract it or give me any shots! But, they said I owed $179 for telling me they could refer me to another dentist for that extraction, because they don't do that one. When I refused to pay. They changed the charge to $79. This was at 2760 SE 17th St. STE 600. Ocala, FL 34471. Note: Years ago I had one like it extracted for $2.00. Yes! Two Dollars! It was done by my family dentist, not The Dentist Place! read more

They change dentists every year so no one stays for whatever reason. I had a crown put in and come to find out it is not sitting right. My husband goes to the dentist and now all of a sudden the new dentist says he needs fillings and crowns and everything else. This place is ridiculous. I moved from another state 4 years ago and I really should have did more investigating. This place is absolutely awful. Took my daughter there bc I was told they were in network, do the initial cleaning and first appt as usual and was told she will need sealants and one filling, I schedule for the sealants weeks later, go to appt and spend almost $400 to then be told after her insurance is actually not in network, then I call the insurance to find out that no they aren't anymore and also they never even filed the insurance claim from the 6 weeks prior either, so now I have a huge bill - been trying to get this resolved for two weeks now so I can get the statement from them and I call multiple times a week, I have emailed and no one will get back to me or email me my invoice so I can file the insurance claims myself bc no one in there office will do their job - I DO NOT recommend this place for so many reasons especially for kids. read more

When I walked in the door, I was quoted $203.00 for my daughter's cleaning. Only to find out the lady didn't add the cleaning (which is what I was there for) into that charge "accidentally". The new bill would be $269.00. I agreed to that. When I left, the lady said it would be $327.00. They only told me it would be $327.00 once all the work was done. I'll never go back. Avoid at all costs! You will wait 45 minutes past your scheduled appointment. This wasn't an isolated incident. Every time we went in it was 45 - 75 (I was Furious about the longest one) minutes. How dare they waste our time as though it's meaningless. No apologies were given. The Dentist himself, and his staff, were great and it took mere minutes to get us up and out of the chair. I'm still mind boggled by the wait time given the expediency with which our services were rendered. Heaven forbid you don't pay your bill within 24 hours; Ms. Wiggins will hunt you down and harass you until she gets every last penny. My child, who did not have a checking account or other method of payment, went in for a broken tooth and let them know I would be paying later that week when I was able to get time off work to go in. I received numerous phone calls and emails from Ms. Wiggins, shaking me down despite repeated assurances I would be in later that week. For the wait time and the heavy-handed collections tactics I would avoid this business like COVID-19. read more

My son had dental work done without my permission. I left him in the office for a cleaning and he left with 8 sealants that I didn't agree on. I was not contacted by the office at any point to get my permission. Their explanation was that he needed them and it was free ( covered by my insurance) . A month later I get a bill for $116. I called in and spoke to someone and was told that a manager will call me back ( I was told that before, when I went back to the office on the day of the visit). Nobody ever called. Now I got the bill for the second time. I'm contacting the Board of Dentistry and BBB and my insurance company as well, too let them know about insurance fraud. Beware of them pushing services on you so they can make more $$$. I don't recommend them and for sure not going back! read more

None have come close to matching the quality and professionalism of The Dentist Place of Ocala & Dr. Carol Fiola. They contact you prior to your appointment, for confirmation, and have never kept me waiting past my appointment time. On my last checkup/cleaning I mentioned a vacation i was going on. No big deal, small talk right.. Six months later "How was your vacation?" was the first thing Carol asked upon seeing me!!!! Hows that for sincere interest in a patient. In a day & age when health care providers treat you more like cattle than a client The Dentist Place of Ocala is a breath of fresh air. Give 'em a try. I'm sure they will impress. read more

I am never coming back here again. I've been a patient here for over 6 years so why is it that every time I come just for my routine 6 month cleaning, they make me fill out new paperwork and pay for "X-Rays" again. Every time. They just want money thats it. Plus every time I visit there is completely new staff and I don't recognize anyone. The hygienist was "out sick" and they told me the dentist would clean my teeth, ok fine. She scales a few bottom teeth, ok cleaning done. She walks out and doesn't discuss anything with me or show me any pictures or X-Rays but yet they want me to come back for a treatment plan. I don't know who the other person was but she struggled to use the equipment and I felt uncomfortable and felt that they did not know what they were doing. Whatever they did I could have done at home. She said that I could've chose to not come when they told me that the hygienist was out. Then the front desk was rude to me and I told them I'm never coming back. This place is a complete joke. read more

Very disappointed. Our family of 5 have been patients of the dentist place for years and received some of the most unprofessional service today by the receptionist and carol Fiola. Apparently times have changed with her being hired there. I should have read the multiple negative reviews, it seems as though this is happening often. No words to describe how much I appreciate this office. It was my first visit and I hate the dentist - truly have a phobia of the dentist - wrote it all over my paperwork. They were FANTASTIC! Very calming environment. No "dentist office smell", wonderful staff, very caring and very calming. Everyone accepted my "fear" of the dentist and didn't make me feel bad about it! I haven't gotten my teeth cleaned in years...I was over due. I called around serveral places to see just how much a cleaning would cost me. I found out you needed ex-rays done, a exam, and then you could get a cleaning depending on what the doc said. Everywhere I called was $250 and more just to get t the point of maybe getting them cleaned. I was disappointed but made an appointment elsewhere, and then I called "The Dentist Place of Ocala," and I could barely believe the deal they were having ex-rays, exam, and cleaning for less than $100.. So, I asked he when I could be seen, and because of the bad weather that day, she was able to fit me in that day. When I got to "The Dentist Place of Ocala," the front desk lady was very pleasant, gave me some paperwork to fill out and I waited. Then my name was called and from that moment we were in full gear. I had the ex-rays taken, the exam, the meeting the doctor and then the approval for the cleaning. Everything was so professional and just perfect customer service. Everything was explained to me in full detail and no shorts were taken or surprises at the end when it came time to pay the bill. I felt like I was treated like a person and not just another number chart. This Dentist was the first Dentist I chose after relocating to Florida. Dr Wintermans performed Dental work that wasn't approved by my Insurance. Then charged me with an 850.00 bill. Insurance told them Crown was not medically nessessary, that a filling was all the tooth needed. When I disputed it with the office Manager among many other office personal, I was told they would do nothing for me that I was responsible for the Bill. I had several conversations with them, they would not even split the cost with me, before we had been done discussing options with them they sent the bill to collections. I had same Dentist for 15 years and had never been treated like that. Do not Use this Dentist! Many others out there. read more

My family has been going to The Dentist Place for about 2 years. On one of my visits they tried to sell me Invisalign braces. I am in my 50's and this is the first time I was ever told I needed braces. I was informed that my "Investment" would be around $5000.00. Yea right. The last visit they told me I needed deep cleaning and fluoride treatment to avoid possible gum disease. I was told that my "Investment" for this procedure would be a little more than $90.00, and that the remainder of the cleaning billing would be submitted through insurance. I paid the "Investment" amount, had the deep cleaning, cleaning and fluoride treatment. Now this place is trying to bill me another $100.00 bucks. I called their office to question the billing, and was told that I signed an agreement and that there was a disclosure contained within that stated the cost was an estimate.
