I've been in two minds about reviewing Diamond Dog. On one hand, it's a fantastic treasure trove of vintage and second hand goodies. On the other hand, it's kinda my little secret. I think mostly because it's -gasp- in the West, this precious gem (oh yeah, I went there) of a store hasn't been picked over too much. Okay, so it's not dirty op shop in the country cheap, but it's far more reasonable than its eastern counterparts. And maybe I'm nuts, or maybe it's just because I go past it so often but it feels like the stock is of a better calibre than most. Most of all, it changes over pretty regularly so there's often something new to fondle. The only real problem is the opening hours. The Dog recently changed owners and despite living really close by and passing often, it seems to be open at odd times. I've had some stellar finds here though, and as far as vintage shopping goes you'll be hard pressed to find an independent store as well stocked anywhere in Australia for such great prices. read more
