When we arrived, our room had been generously upgraded from standard to deluxe. It's very quiet, although there are busloads of tourists who all arrive and depart at the same time!
The room is a bit shabby, but it's very clean. We wish there was a table and chairs, rather than two oversize arm chairs.
We had an early tour at Milford Sound, which meant we had to leave before most restaurants in town would have been able to serve us. The man who checked us in suggested we order the box breakfast from the hotel to take along. It seemed like a good idea, but it was a big disappointment.
It probably should have occurred to me, but it didn't, that the bacon and egg croissant would be pretty unappetizing served cold. What we received was a sliced croissant with a fried egg and bacon slices bacon. There wasn't anything else, no butter or spread. (I thought it was going to be what we call egg salad: chopped hardboiled eggs mixed with some mayonnaise and other mix-ins, like bacon.) There were two sandwiches in each box, along with a tub of yogurt (no spoon), an apple, and apple-orange juice.
Too bad we didn't know to walk to a nearby bakery to buy a lovely pastry for our breakfast on the go.
