Beautiful view restaurant of world heritage site harbor. Waitress recommended scallops, pointed out the boat that brought them in and explained that lobster was overpriced this time of year. (They should give her a raise). The scallops were indeed wonderfully fresh and delicious. The seafood chowder was packed. I didn't feel rushed, and I enjoyed a delightful Nova Scotia white wine too. Excellent.

Went to dockside and had good service. The food was yummy. I ordered clam strips and fired which were pretty tasty. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful September weather and views. Would visit Dockside again.

This is the soupy rice after I ate the veggies. Gross

Food was terrible - the burgers were hard pucks and the stir fry was a soupy mess- the rice was swimming in a sweet sauce literally a cup of liquid on the plate. The veggies were clearly frozen. The fries were decent. The waitress was nice - she knew the food was terrible so didn't ask how it was. Don't go there. We had wanted to go to The Knot but it had a huge line. Lesson learned

We stopped here as there was a long wait for other restaurants. It has great outdoor seating. The food and service were fine. However, agree that cleanliness could be improved.

    Lobster dinner

The fish and chips were okay and so were the drinks. We ordered a lobster dinner that we split between ourselves. I thought it was okay, though it should be noted it isn't lobster season, but my girlfriend loved it. The Piña Colada was very milky but still pretty good! Our waitress was very nice and super helpful. The restaurant itself was very empty and somewhat dilapidated, but still we had a great view of the water.

We had an excellent meal when we walked in by chance on Valentine's Day weekend. The food was very good. Scallops and bacon were both perfectly cooked. The seafood platter was beautiful, plentiful and very reasonable. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were home cooked and delicious. The star dessert for me was the awesome peanut butter pie. It was smooth and flavorful and so visually appealing too. A highlight of our evening was our fantastic waiter, Kyle.

Great food and a wonderful view from the deck. Good food at a reasonable price. Good service with friendly staff.

Great area and quite reasonable food. The prices are fair and the views of the harbour make it worth your while. I had the fisherman's fleet platter - mussels, scallops, lobster claw, salmon and haddock. It was quite tasty. Would recommend.

This outdoor eating experience was the perfect cap to a beautiful day. While only open seasonally, this restaurant focuses on fresh seafood. They had six different types of oysters that you could get served on the half shell, broiled or done Rockefeller style. I had two of two different kinds of oysters, the Chebooktook from New Brunswick and the Gowanbrae from Prince Edward Island. They were served on ice with a slice of lemon and cocktail sauce in a cute little squeeze bottle. The oysters were perfectly shucked and delicious. For entrees, I got the seafood paella which was packed with a ton of seafood. There were shrimp clams in the shell, mussels, scallops and fish. The flavors were great and it was a definite treat. The price point was very fair based on the amount of seafood you got. The dish came out very hot and looked beautiful. We also got the Scallop Carbonara which was also delicious. It had all the traits of a perfectly executed carbonara with the addition of perfectly seared sea scallops. This dish was rich in its flavors and generous with the scallops. The team at The Half Shell was small but extremely efficient. Everyone jumped in and worked together to make for a great dining experience. The tables are fairly close together up by the bar, but frankly, we enjoyed that was we met a very nice couple from Dartmouth and had a great conversation over dinner like we were old friends. We would could highly recommend dinner here if you are in Lunenberg.

The atmosphere was nice with a pleasant view of the water, and the food was fantastic. We each had a burger with sweet potatoe fries with curry mayo. We shared the hot dill pickle dip for an appetizer and we DEVOURED it. Our server was very friendly as well, and made herself available to us whenever we needed without hovering. I would happily eat here again if we stayed nearby.

My wife and I started with the sweet potato fries, and they were fantastic--crispy, flavourful, and taken to the next level with that curry mayo. She ordered the Lobster Roll and absolutely loved it--super fresh, packed with flavour, and exactly what you'd hope for this close to the ocean. I went all in on the Lunenburger, and let me tell you--it's easily one of the best burgers I've ever had, if not the best. It was absolutely loaded: a juicy, flavour-packed beef patty, crispy bacon, sweet and flaky lobster, fresh arugula, tasty aioli, and to top it all off--a bacon-wrapped scallop that was just the cherry on top. Every bite was next-level. No wonder this place has won awards. From fresh seafood to creative pub fare, The Grand Banker delivers big on both quality and flavour. Highly recommend, especially for fellow burger lovers--you need to try the Lunenburger!

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. I…read moredon't enjoy writing negative reviews, but this was unacceptable. We visited The Old Fish Factory to celebrate my nephew's 5th birthday -- a group of three adults and two small children. The restaurant was more than half empty when we arrived, yet we stood at the front for ten minutes without being acknowledged. Several staff walked by, made eye contact, and kept walking. When someone finally seated us, the table was still dirty. She apologized and offered to clean it -- I ended up wiping it myself because it was still covered in crumbs after she half heartedly wiped it down. Service continued to deteriorate from there. It took another 10 minutes to take our drink and food order. We ordered two smash burgers, a wrap, two kids' meals, and a hummus appetizer. We asked for the kids' meals to come out with the appetizer, which seemed like a straightforward request. Unfortunately, we never saw our server again. Our drinks sat visibly on the bar for over 20 minutes. We tried flagging someone down -- we were brushed off with, "I'll see if I can find her." Eventually, someone else brought the kids' meals and appetizer. We asked again about our drinks, which were still untouched at the bar. Another person -- not our server -- finally grabbed them. No one came to check in. After we finished the appetizers, we waited. And waited. The kids, now long finished, grew restless. Forty-five minutes went by without a word. Nearly 90 minutes after ordering, our mains finally arrived. The wrap was cold inside. The burgers were burnt and tasted pre-frozen. The $9 "potato salad" was boiled potatoes with a drizzle of mayo -- truly. When I expressed -- calmly -- that the experience was unacceptable, the response was silence. No apology, no adjustment to the bill, no effort to make it right. Instead, they simply handed me the machine and said, "You just have to tap," implying they weren't expecting a tip -- not because they took accountability, but because they knew they hadn't earned one. I rarely leave reviews like this, and I'm not a picky diner. But this place was disorganized, indifferent, and dismissive from start to finish. We left disappointed, $150 poorer, and without so much as a simple "sorry." Lunenburg is full of wonderful places to eat -- this just isn't one of them.
