My Husband and I have five beautiful dogs" we love each one very much. Some of this sweeties are rescue. And a couple of them where so skinny and mistreated by there former owners. One of this is a beautiful golden" when my husband picked her up she was 25 pounds underweight and only six months old with the help of the doctors and the staff she has been gaining weight and now is healthy and a very happy playful beauty. Do. Not. Take. Your. Doodles. To. This. Place !!! Just picked up my golden doodle and my Aussie doodle. Aussie doodle looked fine as she has silky hair. The golden doodle they shaved completely claiming she had mats, I have been brushing her every day and I know for a fact she was not matted- that is why I brush her every single day. They were just too lazy to do a good job or worse they have no clue how to groom a doodle. I know doodle grooming is not easy, but my 9 year old grandson could have done a better job. We have been using the Dog Spot for almost 2 years and they have never done a great job, only mediocre, but this was a mess of major proportion and they charged $271 for two dogs in the past it was less than $180 with tip for our two dogs. Now I understand why they make you pay before they bring them to you otherwise no one would tip and I would not have paid $271 for the mess they made. I have taken my dogs to the Dog Spot for both grooming and boarding (primarily grooming). For the past two years, I have always been very pleased with how they handle and care for my 3 babies -- including a rescue pup we had who had minimal socialization. Everyone comes home happy, healthy and we'll taken care of. I definitely recommend them to anyone considering grooming and boarding. If they can do an incredible job on our wiggly wild man, they can work on anyone! Added (6/4/18) I am still so thankful for everyone there. I needed to get Prince Poodle groomed, and just moved back to Salado. When I saw reviews of the Dog Spot I called with some questions. The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and let me know that they don't use the small cage dryers (which are a big issue for me, since Prince overheats easily due to a medical condition). When I brought Prince in, they let me walk around and tour the place. Prince also got some free supervised playtime with puppies and small dogs when he wasn't being groomed. When I picked him up he looked good, no razor burns, and didn't seem stressed. He had a bandana on too, which my old groomer never did. His eyes also watered less than usual, post-groom. The groomers and staff really seemed to care about dogs. Not everyone who works with dogs does. Some just are in it for the money or get jaded or something (even vets sometimes). I'd feel comfortable bringing Prince back again. read more

We just moved to the area. We took our two dogs to the dog spot today. We have one neurotic dachshund that we were scared wouldn't be able to get groomed . Gina did an amazing job, maybe even the best groom they have ever had! We can't recommend the dog spot or Gina enough! She will be our groomer from now on! My wife took our Pomeranian to the dog spot yesterday to be groomed. He had taken him there probably five or six times before and always got the "lion" cut. When she dropped him off they asked if we wanted the same cut as before and she said yes. Instead of the lion cut they had totally shaved him, including his whiskers, except for his ears and a ball on his tail. When asked they said that in the past they had used the same clipper as before. Of course they had not totally shaved him except his ears. Needless to say, my wife was upset. The owner told my wife that she was being mean to her by addressing their gross incompetence and also recommended another place to get our 3 dogs groomed They also said that when they shave a dog you should cut their whiskers. We are people that try to support local businesses but we will not be back there. Customer service is non-existent. I guess since they are building on they don't need our business. read more

Wow! I love this place! They always do a amazing job on my pups. I always drop my pups(3 labs) off for bath & brushes and they always come back smelling wonderful! I've also done boarding for them when we travel and must say that they're are the best! They spend lots of time playing with them and loving on them! 5 stars is not enough. I have taken all 3 of my dogs to be groomed here and couldn't be happier. My oldest dog is 12 and is typically shaking and all worked up when I pick her up from grooming, but when I picked her up from The Dog Spot, she was calm and relaxed. They even asked if i needed her done quickly or if they could take it slow and keep her relaxed. Our 1.5 year old Corgi had never been to the groomer and they were so good and patient with her. Lastly, our 5 year old girl was scheduled for just a bath and brush out, but had a couple of mats and they worked her in for a full grooming. I am so thankful we food this gem. read more

We brought our two dogs in and received a detailed consultation and discussion about what we expected. When we picked up our babies they were absolutely beautiful. Not a stray hair or spot missed. I took my four month old pup to be boarded there for a whole week. I was super appreciative because he was so young. I can't explain how pleased I was. I even hounded them about how he was doing the entire time I was gone. The staff was so patient and polite. Got to see some action shots on Facebook of him in doggie daycare during the days. After I picked him up I was sent a report card. From beginning to end, this place is top notch. I know my pup loved it too. They really take the time to listen to what you want for grooming and I am always able to drop off and pick up at our convenience and they let our dog play in the daycare while she waits on us. They're reasonably priced and in line with other local dog groomers. They take notes on what they do and make sure to treat styles if you like them. The owners are super friendly and hands on. The Dog Spot is a great place to board your dog. They have kennels that can accommodate both of our dogs, so they can be together instead of just in a cage. They even have a doggie door so they can go into their own yard whenever they want to. read more
