    Doubleday in at dusk

I stayed the October 15th thru the 17th 2020 and it was a great experience. The room was nicely decked out in era pieces and the bed was great to sleep in and rest after going out into the battlefield to explore. The breakfast was real good, but the conversation with other guests is the best part of it. Got to meet a bunch of interesting people, and have great talks with them! And to John from California you were enjoyable to talk with after exploring all day and in the morning. I could not recommend this place more, it's location on the battlefield makes it easy to go out and explore right away without having to drive anywhere. And the owners of the place Greg and Sue run a great B&B and I will be staying there again! And this was my 1st fall trip and the colors were brilliant.

You can't get much closer to the battlefield than the Doubleday Inn. It's right on the battlefield and has some amazing views. It has a lovely living room and dining room as well as a relaxing back patio. We stayed in the Robert E. Lee suite. Very comfortable and roomy. Beware, the bathtub is quite high so if you're not tall you'll want to hold on to something when you step in. Todd and his wife were very personable and served a great breakfast of caramel French toast, fresh fruit and bacon. Wonderful stay!

Soooooo amazing. Inkeepers are great but the grounds are truly amazing. Just outside of town and very quiet. They really keep it that way. There are quiet hours (night) and no tvs. Lots of outside places to read and picnic. Great views. Right on the battlefield. Place can also be a bit creepy/fun for those interested in ghostly activity. I mean, it is on a battlefield!! Totally recommend it. Great prices too. Fully cooked breakfast.

Absolutely beautiful. Todd and Christine are the perfect hosts. Gorgeous home, incredibly welcoming.

Michael, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, as is the staff on site. The room was perfect and so comfortable! This is walking distance to many of the shops and sites around town. We are already planning our next visit for next year! If you're planning a trip to Gettysburg, I highly recommend staying at the Gaslight Inn. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

I called and texted multiple times to the number on the main front door. No avail. We had to stop a woman doing a ghost tour to let us in the side door. The room was exceptionally hot. 3rd floor. Also, it seemed a bit cheesy with the "scary" old looking pictures and dolls through out the room. We were hoping for something closer to actual decoration of the time not uncomfortable paintings and dolls. When leaving (we left early for a family emergency) I emailed (which is the fastest communication they said. Explaining we were leaving. No reply, sent another email, no reply. Then finally in the morning I wanted to confirm they got any of the emails, and finally one came back. Communication isn't the greatest. Also, the parking is horrible. If each room has a spot. There should be a sign that it is that's room parking spot. There is no signage and if you get there in the dark your screwed to even know it the right parking lot. I had high hopes for this B&B but it definitely fell short. If you're looking for a "spooky" place this may be it. It all seemed a bit fake to me. I did appreciate the 2 fake fireplaces we had in our room. It hit under 40 over our stay at night, these were great. If you have neck/back problem-bring your own pillows or whatever you need. The pillows reminded me of the deflating hospital pillows. Also, there's a shareable hot tub and we didn't know about it. Maybe because it was off season, things weren't running smoothly? Not sure.

I fully recommend the three-floor climb to walk off some calories from the delicious breakfasts!) Speaking of, innkeepers Carrie and Olivia took great care of us. We were even lucky enough to interact with Co-owner Christine Cambell who was also there for the weekend. (If she's there with you, pick her brain!!! She knows everything Gettysburg and is a most gracious hostess.) The property is very well thought out and appointed. While preserving lots of the look and feel of times gone by, it also affords guests with every modern convenience! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a wonderful retreat in one of our nation's most historic cities. You won't regret it. A. Clyde

The location is good. The breakfasts were uneven: one outstanding, one pretty awful (a cold Egg McMuffin and cottage cheese?), and one so-so. But perhaps they had a new or temporary cook, because other reviewers did not seem to find this to be the case. We did not find a book in our room with information? Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. All in all, we would return, as this was definitely the nicest of the three B&Bs in which I have stayed in Gettysburg.

I didn't ask why, but it was a nice gesture on their end. As a platinum elite member with IHG, they really try to accommodate for their members well. Staff was very friendly when checking in/out and when I was looking around for a plastic fork. This was my first time staying at Holiday Inn Gettysburg and I was amazed by how new everything looked. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker available to use. The bathroom had this large beautifully lit LED mirror. Room was clean and had brown modern minimalist design. Beds were really comfortable and I think they were new since there was a little sign saying "enjoy our new beds." As a Holiday Inn Express, they offer free breakfast. It's just your typical continental breakfast, but they still have some variety (cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pastries, bagels, fruit). I think the hotel is in a great location, right behind an outdoor mall, about 25 minutes from Liberty Ski Resort, few minutes from the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. These were the few reasons why I decided to book here. The hotel was visible while driving on Route 15, but once I took the exit, it was somewhat confusing to get to the actually Holiday Inn. You have to basically go through the outdoor mall The only complaint I had was the decreased shower head water pressure. The tub was a slippery, but they had a rubber grip, which I definitely used!

One elevator was down which made the Fourth of July weekend quite a long wait to catch an elevator. I am a platinum elite member and I asked for a 2 PM check out. He was unable to do that. But was able to offer a 12 PM check out. I just ended up leaving early. I got a room with two queen beds. One of the beds the sheets were not changed. There was hair all in them and I smelled them.. they smelled like dirty hair. Fortunately, the bed I slept in I believe the sheets were changed. There is no Internet TV at this hotel so if you want to watch YouTube, or Netflix, you are out of luck. The pool capacity at this hotel is only for nine people. It is the smallest hotel pool I've ever seen. All in all I wouldn't stay here again. I feel as a platinum elite member they could of done much better .
