    Fireplace getting some love.

If you visit, try the blueberry tea. I don't know which brand of liquors they use, but it's easily the most spectacular I have ever had. They even properly warm the glass for you. If you are snacky, ask if you can order the room service popcorn. Good lord. A huge basket overflowing with tasty bits. I can say that I have had great meals and I have had less than good meals on a few occasions over the years. Right now I am accompanying my S.O. At a conference, and I've sat here for almost 45 minutes. (Although I AM on the other side of the fireplace in the casual area that is partially taken over by conference trade show tables), I usually get service here, and I haven't seen a single server. I'm sure this older gentleman in a suit and name tag will be ... never mind. I have found most often, service to be better on off-hours rather than mealtime rush. Guess I'll meander back to the room and return when there's less chaos about.

Great room, pretty good service, over priced in places but worth the $$ in others. I visit here once or twice a year mainly for the Maple Old Fashioned from the bar and for a stroll around the grounds. We always try something new off the menu but it can be hit or miss. The wild mushrooms on toast with a soft sous vide egg was the highlight this time! The dressing on the elk burger was wonderful however the patty itself was a bit bland and heavy on the onions. $11 for a sleeve of draught hurts but their signature cocktails are worth it! Spend the extra $5 to get your whiskey/bourbon smoked table side!

Incredible lunch on the balcony enjoying their own craft beer called Roof Top Honey Lager the local bees provide the honey from the beehives on top of the Jasper Park Lodge. Started off with the squash soup and tomato carrot bisque soup, both of these were excellent. I also had a steak sandwich which was incredible on grilled sourdough bread. All in all it was a great lunch, our server was also very atentive.

The Jasper Park Lodge has begun upgrading their interior decor, and the Emerald Lounge is benefitting from a MUCH needed facelift. With such a spectacular vista, the room should be just as lovely. Drinks are pricey, but well made. I had the Vesper Martini, and although not as lemony as I thought it would be, was smooth and delicious, and icy cold. The little "snack" that is complimentary is out-of-the-bag pretzels. Not exactly what I would have expected from a Fairmont hotel, but it's free, so you can't complain too much!! Serving staff is knowledgeable, although a little cold. Our server warmed up towards the end of our brief visit.

Inside the Fairmont Jasper Lodge. Sat by the massive fireplace with a view of the lake. The assortment of our dishes made it even better! Arugula salad w/crispy brie, classic Caesar salad, Short rib poutine, mushroom sedatini pasta and scallop carbonara finished w/ lemon tart! Service warm and friendly.

    This beer is outstanding!

This place a great quiet little resort just out of Jasper. The lodge itself is great but the prices for food and beverage are over the top. Having said that I had the best ever beer I have ever had in my life! The Roof Top Honey Lager is made in Calgary by a local brewery using honey from the beehives on top of the Jasper Park Lodge. If you are ever in Jasper you have to try it!

I was really looking forward to coming here because it was our first stop in Alberta, and our first meal out & about. The service was okay, she was attentive but not a great conversationalist. I got the Bison burger which I found to be pretty flavorful so I was impressed. However, my friends got the poutine and the gravy that they use for this poutine was pretty awful....neither of them were close to even finishing half of it. Definitely wasn't a fan of that.

The great view didn't make up for the $25 hockey puck on a roll I was served.

The Whisky Jack Grill Jasper, Alberta Canada July 2026 I…read morewas in Jasper for two days, on a train vacation that got me out of the District for the semi quincentennial. On Amtrak the trip began in Washington, D.C., through Chicago, then Seattle, then Jasper. Amtrak got me to Seattle seamlessly; and VIA Rail Canada got me from Seattle to Jasper, just as painlessly. Really good planning by my Amtrak Vacations representative, Kevin Guadagnoli, who was working through Railbookers. During the time I had in Jasper, I had the chance to breathe, to observe, to inhale, and to enjoy. Jasper provided all of this, and The Whisky Jack Grill was a major part of the benefits of this trip. I was at the Grill in mid-afternoon, and Tereza was there with no wait and a menu, and a helpful attitude. I settled in with no prior knowledge of what the venue had to offer. Great start: the menu included a beef goulash (spicy smoked paprika beef, potato and onion with a fresh oven-baked baguette, $22) that I was sorely tempted to order, and a competitor - beef Stroganoff (served with linguine past, topped with sour cream and pickles, $34). But I was looking for a lighter option and found it with an appetizer: sticky-finger black pepper tofu! Peppercorn, honey-molasses, butter glazed tempura-fried tofu, served with a delicious Asian slaw ($22). That plus a 4 p.m. double gin and tonic ($12) brought the bill for my late lunch to $35.70 plus a $5 CAD tip. Really impressive service, excellent food, and reasonably priced. Conversation friendly, spacious, and relaxing. I doubt I'll have the chance to return to Jasper (I'm 70 and live in D.C. and my traveling days may be numbered) but if the four winds bring me back, I'll save space for The Whisky Jack Grill. (And I don't mean to be a pest, but according to the venue, there is no "e" in Whisky". Just saying, because that's what's on the postcard they left with my tab.)

The beef stroganoff special also looked delicious. Service was friendly, and the views of the mountains from inside the restaurant were beautiful! They also had a great local beer selection. We grabbed the blueberry pie to go, and it came with ice cream, so good. We would definitely come back during a future stay in Jasper!
