When you live in the "concrete jungle" you must make it a living, breathing space whenever possible. However, my dearest friend lives in NWA and often I want to buoy her spirits with flowers. Lately I have been terribly disappointed with the more typical floral arrangements that are available. And I detest the cheap glass containers that are produced by the millions and look so very blah. This time, rather than defaulting to another FTD florist, I went to Yelp and truly studied the comments made about each florist. I also looked at the photos that were available. It became instantly apparent that Flora and Pam Pemberton were very different in their approach and in the outcome for their clients. The picture of the flowers for Bailey was exactly what I had in mind - simple and yet gorgeous in that simplicity. I called Pam and her warmth radiated across the phone to me. We had a wonderful conversation about all things BUT flowers before we even started on the order! I had made a friend. She seemed to understand perfectly that I just did not want another cookie-cutter arrangement. When I hung up I felt as if I was in professional hands and that my order would be filled quickly and artistically. (Oh, did I forget to tell you that I called at the last minute? Yes, I called at 1:00 PM to see if I could still get a delivery that day! It did not phase her a bit) When my flowers arrived there were tears of joy and an appreciation for their artistic difference. The entire office was stunned by how very different and how beautiful they were. Pam even later sent a paragraph that helped us all know more about the artist who threw the pot that held the flowers.
