Review Visit: July 20th, 2015 It wouldn't be an enchanted road trip in Canada without a stop at the Enchanted Forest! In the months leading up to our trip, we made a list of things we would like to do. Our Canadian guide (my cousin's wife) knew the route and mentioned many things to do along the way. The Enchanted Forest was one of the things we jotted down. Fast forward to us on the road and driving west; timing ended up working out great for us as we passed by Revelstoke during the afternoon. With that to our advantage, we pulled over to check out The Enchanted Forest. Going in, I had no idea what to expect. Thoughts of fancy forests with fog and unicorns are what sprang to mind. A forest dedicated to fairy tales is not what I imagined. But that's what the Enchanted Forest is. One dedicated to all those fairy tales we all hear as kids. Parking was a bit of a pain as the lot was smaller and we stopped by during the peak tourist season, but we eventually found a place and headed in. Entry was around $12 or so but since it's been awhile, please check their website for an accurate price. We all paid, grabbed maps and headed in. As we paid and headed in, I couldn't think that this was an actual place. It seemed like a fairy tale in of itself. A random forest dedicated to fairy tales and the like. But every step of the way just kept up that initial surprise. Every path and every turn lead to a small set up dedicated to some tale or some folk lore. Some I recognized, some I didn't. Here and there, you would find poems or excerpts from the origins of what the displays were based on. That helped figure out where and what certain displays were. Walking around, you can head whichever way you want and spend time with the displays, taking fun photos with most of them. You can't interact with them for the most part, aside from the ones that are made to be touched. I remember there being a tree house kids could play in. I remember there being a big bunny chair you could sit in. There was a shoe house small kids could explore. The house that Goldilocks commits Breaking and Entering in is now a real place. Even if you aren't a fan of tales and lore, this place is something to experience just for the sake of it is unique and unlike anything else I've experienced in my years of traveling. Also, the forests of Canada are a beauty of their own. You can browse the photos supplied below but you'd really need to see a video of it to get a good feel for the place. About the only negative I would have to say about this place is that the age/quality of some of the sculptures are lacking. Some have that homemade look, which has a charm of it's own but at the same time, weren't crafted the best. Some of the other things looked like they needed a fresh coat of paint or some touch ups. I assume the forest vegetation/biome isn't the greatest for these kinds of things. With that negative in mind, I am not docking this place for it as I think that it is also part of the charm in a weird way. It's like you are seeing a labor of someone's love brought to life. Kids who grew up reading would love this place. Adults who grew up with these stories would also love this place. It's like seeing a story adapted in to a movie. Those words and mental images brought to life. read more

For a family of four we paid just under 50$. I think this would be a great environment for families with children under the age of 7. The idea of the park is good... however the characters in the park are outdated and kinda creepy. For the amount of money they charged us to get in.. I think maybe they should update their characters. The little houses were cute. But again. Made for young children. The park doesn't take more then an hour to go through. read more

So sure, this may be for kids, but as an adult it is still pretty sweet. If you need to (or just want to, and I almost always want to) get into the spirit a bit more with spirits in your coffee mug and go explore. Just mind the kids running about. This is pretty much a dream for child-me. A lovely forest with paths, little characters everywhere, houses to climb in and on, fun nature facts on little stands about the fauna and animals around, a duck pond, and there is even a lovely little pond you can go paddle around in. There's a creepy little cave with a wizard, (yeah, a freaking wizard) anamatronic things, it is pretty much a fabulous 60's/70's nursery rhyme nightmare dream, and if you are a child of the 80's you know what I mean. The place and figures are all hand-crafted and made by the founder with passion, I imagine Doris Needham to be the most lovely eccentric and I would very much like to have tea with her. This place is so other-worldly and beautiful, if you're not jaded, old, and dull you must see it. If you are - at least bring children to see it and live through them. read more

This place is SO cute, i would defiantly come back! My son who is 10 months old even enjoyed it, looking at all the figurines! Sure, the figurines may not be the cutest looking things, but oh well that didn't bother us! We had a great time taking pictures & reading the little stories! The weather was beautiful so the walk around the woods was nice! read more

This is easily the best Enchanted Forest I have ever been too. I come here every year and I am always met with the highest possible standards. The statues are absolute masterpieces and create very vivid stories. Sure some people would say that they are creepy or poorly made but that's art. Life isn't perfect, sometimes you need to spice it up! Let's just say if you don't stop here you are truly missing out! Yesterday we finished the kids sections at Skytrek and asked what time the enchanted forest was open until, they double checked and said 8pm. We then walked down from there to Enchanted forest and arrived at 4:34 pm. Exactly. We went inside and were told the park was closed at 4:30. We asked if we could go in anyway since 4:30 was the cut off and we were so close to that time. A simple no would have been fine. Instead the older blonde lady behind the counter lost her cool and said we only had 25mins for a 45min walk etc etc. We were both shocked by her response and since we had our 5yr old son with us we REALLY didnt appreciate her awful attitude, expressive hand gestures and overall negative tone. I told her she didnt need to be so grumpy since we only asked. We weren't banging on the door to get in or anything like that. She continued to argue she wasnt grumpy and rattled off some more nonsense while we swiftly tried to turn around our babies stroller and get our family out the door. My son spent the next little while wondering why the lady wouldnt let us in and was being mean. I actually didnt know how to answer him. This is not the experience I hoped he would leave with. I have given 3 stars because I have been here numerous times over the years and it has been a good experience. We have never been treated poorly before. I strongly encourage someone to coach that woman in proper customer service. She could have handled it much more kindly and professionally. I will definitely hesitate on a future visit after this experience. Also I would be curious to know why we were told they were open until 8pm. It also states that online. Is there a part of the park that stays open while another part closes? Ty PS, Skytrek staff were all kind and efficient. I grew up in Salem, Oregon, one of many towns in North America that boasts a homebrew theme park in the Enchanted Forest/Storybook Park/Fairytale Fen genre. Naturally, when my photos of the Revelstoke Enchanted Forest hit Facebook, my high school friends wanted to know how the BC version stacked up to its Oregon counterpart. Of course, no interloper Enchanted Forest will ever replace Salem's very own in my heart, but I think I can make a little room in there for the BC EF without crowding things too much. It's actually pretty unfair to compare the parks; they share a name and a basic format, but little else. Doris Needham was more folk artist than businesswoman, and aside from one animatronic wizard (a later addition, I suspect), she clearly wasn't interested in Disneyesque imagineering and special effects. She also wasn't very interested in entertaining adults. All of the storybook dioramas here are child height, and the few interactive displays are too small to be comfortably accessed by anyone over the age of eight. Adults who have reservations about letting their kids run off and play in an unfamiliar environment without direct (painfully direct. Two feet away with an unwrapped Band-Aid in hand direct) supervision won't have a good time here. And that's something the BC and OR EFs have in common. I keep telling you people: if your kids expect Disneyland, then Disneyland is the only 50+ year old theme park you should ever visit. But do you listen?... For non-fretters, and for the handful of roadside attraction enthusiasts who would choose to come to a storybook park sans kids, Needham's wildly imaginative folk art sensibilities will charm and amaze. In terms of raw artistry and imagination, Needham's Enchanted Forest is actually closer to grownup folk art parks like the Fun Farm in Bend, OR and the Dickeyville Grotto in WI than my hometown park. It's inspired imagination gone wild and given an unlimited supply of concrete. I wondered if some of the unfamiliar stories and nursery rhymes told in Needham's dioramas were her own invention. Given the evidence, it seems entirely possible. If you like folk art wonderlands, or if you have kids who need an imagination workout after hours in the car, Revelstoke's Enchanted Forest is your place. read more

I had a high expectation on this place naming Enchanted Forest. However, the miniatures inside look terribly awful. They killed my fantasies towards fairy tales. It is nice for the place to incorporate the well-known stories which I have enjoyed when I was a kid. However, again, it would be nice if they look better. The only thing I enjoyed was the tall trees around. read more

I've been going here almost every year for as long as I can remember. In my opinion it's the perfect stop. It never seems to get old.

Not sure what the big draw is to this place. It's literally one pathway with in a Forrest with a treehouse in the middle. The rest of the items are creepy and weird looking. The price for admission here should be $5 max. read more

No family rates & expensive... Not so enchanting how they were seen treating staff. Unimpressed.
