I've been teaching English for over 3 1/2 years and this is, by far, the worst school that I've ever taught at. The director is a total narcissist who cares less about her employees than the owner of your average run of the mill sweatshop. During the time I worked there I witnessed employees being talked about behind their back to other teachers and their personal emails being read aloud to other staff. When someone put in a notice that they'd found another job and had to leave, the crazy Texan who runs this place sent her back a nasty email ridiculing her. How do I know? Because she read it to me! When I quit 2 months later, having found a saner, more respectful workplace, Tamara wrote that if I wanted my final paycheck she'd have the carabinieri (italian military police) bring it to my school. A not so veiled threat that she'd have me deported because I was in the country on a tourist, not a work, visa. Something she knew full well before hiring me. Her husband did finally pay me, but only because I had books belonging to the school that they wanted returned, and even then not without yelling at me for being a bad employee for 2 hours. It's the only place I've ever worked where employees are treated so badly... in front of other employees! So bad I even wrote a blog about it here http://mylifeintransit.com/2014/11/09/four-types-of-english-schools-to-avoid/. Please, if you're thinking of enrolling your child here, for god's sake don't! read more
