I remember entering Enterprise as a fresh grad, sweating in my long-sleeved shirt and tie after walking almost the entire length of Ayala Avenue to hand out resumes. I was there to apply for a job at an ad agency (I didn't get an offer from them until 7 years later, what's up with that?) but I do remember thinking that I'd accept any job from any company in that building. To me, that building (more than PBCom or GT Tower or any other building along Ayala) was and still is the epitome of Makati.
That offer I got in 2012? I eventually declined it and went somewhere else, only to find myself going back to Enterprise starting 2013 and almost every day since then when my wife signed with that same ad agency. To me, that building is still Makati, with its sprawling food court, Starbucks (and now Jamba Juice!) branches, 3 banks and its proximity to Greenbelt. Every time I feel dejected, or uninspired, or demotivated, stepping into Enteprise reminds me of what it was like to want a job, any job. And it makes me grateful for being where I am today. read more
