Based on my experience, I was very dissatisfied with the value received relative to the cost. Before mediation, I provided the firm with a detailed written analysis, including relevant Florida case law that I believed supported my position. Despite this, I did not observe meaningful engagement with opposing counsel prior to mediation, which was later confirmed during the mediation itself. During the mediation, I expected my attorney to actively lead the discussion and advocate on my behalf. I had initially been advised not to speak, yet during the session, much of the dialogue appeared to be directed to me instead of being handled by counsel. Additionally, when a statement was made suggesting that I caused a city violation -- which I believe to be inaccurate -- I did not observe my attorney step in to challenge or clarify that point. While the invoices reflect ongoing activity, a significant portion appeared to consist of emails, coordination, and internal discussions. From my perspective, many of these billable activities did not meaningfully advance my position or contribute toward a resolution. I understand that legal matters are complex and that outcomes cannot be guaranteed. However, in my opinion, the level of advocacy, communication, and overall value did not align with the fees incurred. This review reflects my personal experience and opinion as a client.
