THE EXCHANGE CHURCH - RR CHILDRENS MINISTRY: I totally understand Kristi N. situation with children not adjusting to the new situation. I found that when my boys were having time adjusting I did not leave them in the classes alone. I would go in at the begining of the service and spend time with them. I joined in the activities and they soon became relaxed. I would leave a few minutes before the service ended. This time increased and soon they were totally comfortable in the class. I agree with the "Director" saying that she understood the problem. I personally had a child who DID NOT ADJUST to new situations. I did find that by increasing the time he was there alone he adjusted. GRANTED: there were times he had to come and sit with me - but I always had a book, crayons or something to keep him entertained. He knew that if he did not sit quietly he would have to leave. He was only 4 at the time. SO --- Do not be so harsh on the church. I am sure that there must of been some type of interruption or she would not of come and talked to you. I personally find it hard to listen and worship with a child not wanting to be there. I WOULD HOPE that you realize that this church is not as small as it looks. There are many happy children in the classes. The staff is loving and kind. They do, if necessary, do the "duty" that they have to do if there is a problem. I would say that 99% of the children look forward to the next week with happy hearts. MUSIC: Wow professional and aweswome. Can listen to it for hours. The staff has put together a professonal music ministry that even a "big" church would be proud to be leading the worship. COME listen if you have not heard them. BLESSING ABOUND ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE HOLY SPIRIT BOUNCES OFF OF THE WALLS AND INTO THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE. PREACHING: PASTOR TREY is so filled with the love and spirit of the LORD that his messages allow the Lord to be felt. He takes a sermon and adds a bit of humor to relax the congeration then hits the word. The Holy spirit is then set free to mingle among the congregaton and the people are blessed. THIS IS NOT YOUR OLD FASHION CHURCH: It is one that allows the HOlY SPIRIT to come in and worship along with the people. The Love of the Lord is first and foremost. If you have never met the "Lord with Skin On" (My joke) you will surely find him here. STAFF: Open to greet you and help fill your needs. There is a coffee bar, comfortable chairs in the lobby, and all are welcomed into the service. PLEASE - come and check this church out before you decide that the one negative comment is true. I truthfully think you will find that this was just one of those times where parent, child, and church were not on the same page. IS IT POSSIBLE that the church was visited at one of the first services that were in the new building? This may of caused some additional stress as all of the classes were in a totally new situation. I began attending this church after we received a mailer. The sermons are phenomenal and I still listen to them every week on iTunes here in Ohio. This church truly has God's blessings and is doing an amazing job of bringing people to the Lord. The service begins with about 30 minutes of music and then the sermon by typically Pastor Trey, but sometimes his wife Pastor Carrie. The have a really wonderful program for children and my two kids ages 2 and 5 had no problem staying in eKidz while I went into the service. The congregation is growing, but they have created small groups to keep a fellowship feel. I urge you to go at least twice to get the real feel. If you are in this area, this church is a MUST visit. read more

My husband and I were looking for a church closer to our home after attending a larger church in Austin for quite some time. We have eight children and knew no one at The Exchange when we decided to go and check it out. At the time the church was meeting at a local middle school. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot we felt welcomed. It was as if the church was waiting for us and knew we would come. The parking lot attendees were super friendly and welcoming and this echoed in everyone we came in contact with as we moved towards and into the service. Our children were very well taken care of and rather than just being cared for they were loved on and prayer over. We have now been attending The Exchange for over a year and a half and are very active members. The leadership of the church is beautiful and from Christ. There is not one person in the church who won't stop and take the time to talk to you or pray for you and we have come to know so many lifelong friends in a short amount of time. I have never been a part of something that is driving the vision of Christ so directly and clearly and feel very blessed that we took the chance to come and check out The Exchange in 2012. You should come check it out to get your own view of what I am talking about. You will be considered family from the moment you walk through the door.. My family and I have attended The Exchange Church for over 3 years now. From the very first time we visited, we were enamored. The staff and volunteers are super friendly, approachable and genuinely caring. Worship is awesome. They have a great kids program and the sermons are amazing and relevant. The Exchange is more than a church we go to on Sunday mornings. This church is a way of life for my family. Just a few Sundays ago, after we parked in front of church, my 7 year old jumps out of the car and ran into church as if were a toy store. I paused to think about the amazing things this church doing for our entire family...even in the little ones. Pastor Trey, Pastor Carrie and the entire staff are awesome leaders, caring members of the local community and have become life-long friends. Paul S, this is in response to your review. First off, I don't normally engage in Internet discussions, but your trolling has reached a level of deceit and falsehood that is truly shameful. I have attended The Exchange Church for over three years and have been an engaged and observant member the entire time. During two of these three years, I have been a member of a team that has been tasked with providing a safe environment for the congregation as well as any visitors that enter our doors. This team is compromised of members who are licensed by the State of Texas, Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau as Personal Protection Officers and Commissioned Security Officers. While some may see this level of security oversight to be unnecessary within the confines of a church, it is exactly the place where people come to prey on the hurting, the needy and the dejected. On several occasions, you have been witnessed by different members of the congregation, including myself, strategically placing yourself into situations with youth and entering into verbal flirting and physical touching that has been deemed inappropriate by many and is the classic red flag of a predator. When confronted by our Pastors on this on multiple occasions, you chose to continue your pattern of probing to see how far you could go before someone noticed or said something. During the last warning, you were specifically instructed that if you placed yourself in the immediate presence of youth without other adults around, you would be asked to leave and not return. YOU chose to dismiss the requests of our Pastors and again purposefully put yourself into close presence with two youth in a room with no one else present. When this was discovered, you were confronted a final time and asked to leave and not return. Your "apology" was not what an innocent person would offer up when confronted with what you were confronted with. You seemed more inconvenienced than apologetic. You were never able to accept that your actions were inappropriate and would not be tolerated at our church. To say that our Pastors did not show love, forgiveness and acceptance couldn't be farther from the truth. During each of the confrontations, you were specifically instructed what specific behavior was wrong and what was expected of you. YOU chose to continue the disturbing pattern that will not be tolerated. Grace is the forgiveness of transgressions that allows for repentance. Repentance is turning away 180 degrees from that past transgression and moving forward. An insincere apology while continuing the same behavior is not repentance. We take the safety and protection of each and every person that enters our doors very seriously and will never allow someone an opportunity to prey on or hurt someone who is entrusted to our care. It is truly sad that you have chosen to lash out with lies in an attempt to justify your actions. While it is true that you are not allowed to attend this church, we continue to pray that the Holy Spirit give you insight and wisdom and reveal to you what is very evident to others. Only the Holy Spirit can bring conviction which leads to true repentance and that is what I am praying for. It is very unfortunate that this matter has to be laid out in a public forum, but your lies and misleading statements warrant the full truth to be disclosed. read more

First let me start off by saying I never post reviews but in this case I found it to be necessary. My family and I are currently members of a large church in Round Rock and while we are happy there we thought that it may be a better fit for us to seek out a smaller church. We received a flyer about the Exchange Church in the mail and decided to give it a try. The info on the flyer and their website looked like the place we might have been looking for. We decided to visit the church for our first time on Sunday, November 11, 2012. We have two small children so we decided to go to the 9:30 service thinking that it may be easier for them to transition into the church's children's program going to the earlier service. When we arrived the greeters at the door were welcoming, asking if this was our first visit. Once we said that it was, she took us around to show us the children's area. Our 3 1/2 year old decided that she did not want to stay with the kids so she was going to sit with us during the service. We left our 19 month old son in the children's area and ventured on our way to the service which is held in the auditorium of a middle school. Not too far into the music worship they called for us to get our son as he was having a hard time adjusting to all of the new people and was upset. I went and got him and tried to sit with him in the children's area to see if that would make him feel more comfortable. After a few minutes sitting with him he calmed down and I decided we are here to hear God's word and I so I took him to sit with us during the service. We are very respectful parents and would NEVER allow our children to create distractions or disrupt the service. After our son made a few small peeps, I decided to take him out of the auditorium. On my way out, I noticed that by the exit door there was an area where we could still be a part of the service without causing any disruption. My family and I sat on the floor and tried to make the most of the situation to be able to hear the service. A woman came up to us asking if we tried the childcare and I explained to her that our son was not comfortable with it. She stayed for a bit and then went back to her seat. Not ten minutes later she came back. She leaned down and told me "I am going to have to ask you to step out into the hall to prevent further disruptions." She even went so far as to say "here let me help you with your things." I could NOT believe it. We were basically being kicked out of church!! My husband had no idea what was going on, so we all followed her out into the hall. I was furious. I could not even look at her. Our children were behaving not doing a thing wrong and she had the nerve to treat us this way. She asked us how long we had been coming here and my husband told her it was our first time. She then went on to tell us that she was the First Impressions Director-WHAT??? First Impression huh- She should be ashamed of herself to make us feel this way. We are beleivers in God and confident in our faith, but I have to ask myself, what if we were a family of non- believers looking for change and came to this church. After this experience one would never go back and this could possibly taint their view of all churches and the Christian Faith. When we left she didn't say a word other than "yes I remember when my kids were that age, its hard". I left very upset and I still sit here in shock and disbelief today. We will never go back nor recommend this church to anyone. This is NOT how a church should make anyone feel. read more
