Tiffany assisted us in selecting our glasses, and she was exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire process. She made what can sometimes feel like a routine appointment into an outstanding customer experience. Her attention to detail and genuine care truly stood out. The reason why I am giving them only a one star review is due to their front desk staff. I went there and if I say this lady was rude, dismissive and disrespectful I would be too nice. I was standing in front of her for maybe 5 min and she just ignored me the entire time. Then when she did it was like how dare me making her work and ans some questions. I honestly felt like I shouldn't be there bothering her while she was basically resting. She didn't had a name tag so when I asked for her name she was very confrontational. I think she knew the way she treated me was wrong and didn't want to give me her name. The Eye Doctors Optometrist, if you have a Maya working at your front desk...do better. She was so rude that I left the office and ended up going to another place to get glasses for my daughter. read more

I had a good eye exam with the doctor. I ordered frames and contacts. It took 3 months to get my contacts. Long, frustrating story - they dropped the ball so many times which included them forgetting to order a second time because they mailed to a wrong address. They do not return phone calls and rarely answer the phone. I drove 20 miles twice to have a conversation and get updates on my order. I have no confidence in the office workers or the store manager's competency. read more

My eye doctor does fine work and the optical service is good. The staff at the check-in desk does not follow through, however. I have two insurances and have been getting overbilled for some time but only recently noticed it. I requested assistance in mid-December and was told they would re-enter my bill so I could get the refund I was due and they would call me back. No call came, so I went back to the office after Christmas and re-inquired. I was told by that staff member that the central billing company was the issue and she would make sure they handled my refund right away. Here is it February 9th and I only learned that the refund check was processed January 14th and I would have to wait 14 to 16 WEEKS to get my refund check. If you call the Eye Doctors and request the billing department, be prepared to hold for a very long time. I was on hold for almost 20 minutes before I hung up and called the appointment desk only to be given the number for central billing where I was on hold for another 24 minutes before anyone picked up. Meanwhile, you keep getting a recorded message to press 0 to leave a voicemail at any time. This is ridiculous treatment. The doctor's office should know how to accurately bill and, when they are wrong, THEY should issue the refund, not some central office (whose call center is not in the US, by the way) to wait another 4 months to get the refund. I am changing to a different practice for sure. I was leaning that way before due to my annual eye exams the past three years getting rescheduled a week or two before. If the doctor knows they consistently need time off at that time of year, they should block it out on the calendar in advance of the staff scheduling the next appointment. I'm so disappointed in my experiences with the Eye Doctors of Manhattan. read more

At no point in the voicemail reminders about my appoint did they mention 'confirmin' my appointment. to retain your appointment with the eye doctors optometrist Manhattan please plan to arrive at 3:45 PM for your appointment on Thursday, January 25, 2024 4 PM. I arrive at 3:40 pm (after leaving work early) for my appointment at 3:45. I was told my appointment was canceled because I didn't confirm it! WTF! Likewise, the customer service rep at check-in was RUDE!!! she couldn't understand why I was upset. Again, I took off work early to make an appointment, with an undisclosed confirmation requirement, that was CANCELE without my knowledge. Now I will have to take off early AGAIN and hope they don't cancel my rescheduled appointment. I was planning to purchase a new pair of designer sunglasses this year too. Another business will get that sale now. read more

To make a long story short, this practice has owed money to me for a billing error since 8 October, 2021. I have been in contact with the office manager, but I keep hearing the same excuses as to why I have not received my refund. It is not a lot of money, but it is the principle that is important to me. I had already purchased two pair of glasses in February of 2021, when I received an overdue billing statement in July of 2021. I initially disputed the charges as glasses cannot be ordered much less received until paid in full. I already had my glasses at that point for a few months. Then I received a letter stating I would be taken to collections if the amount was not paid in full. So I paid the amount due only to find out that I did not owe the money after all. The Doctors at The EyeDoctors are phenomenal, but the business practice is less than satisfactory. Customer service is essential to successful practice and this practice has forgotten that piece. read more

They have rescheduled my appointment over and over again after I continue to tell them I can't just change my appointment to any day because I have work with clients that are scheduled in advance and I have no free time other than the days I take off for appointments but that doesn't seem to matter. I will never get my annual eye check up dealing with them. read more

Don't like their business practices. Seems like they are always pushing for tests you don't need. Once I found out my eye pressure from the technician and was told a much higher figure by the optometrist. Who did not correct me when I stated my pressure values correctly. Seems like a desperate attempt to drum up business. They have also stopped providing cleaning supplies with the new glasses. No problems with the sales people though. read more

The office has way too much turnover, so insurance and order issues can be hit or miss.

First let me say that I have always used the eye doctors and have been happy prior to this date. My appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for 7:50 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I was advised to come 10 minutes early. As instructed I showed up at 7:40. The door was locked until 8 a.m. This I can deal with. I went on to purchase new glasses and was told like many other times if you are not completely satisfied for any reason you can return them in 30 days. The lab tech told me to pick out a new frame which was $99.00. My original frame was over $200. One would think that this is their warranty so the will refund me the money difference. But NO they said it will cover their cost of remaking the lenses. If this is their policy they should advertise as such. I will go somewhere else for my glasses from now on. read more

My optometrist was good, but they charged me a fee for a contact exam when I have insurance and I've never been charged for that anywhere else. After the 2 week follow up, they told me they were going to order my contacts and never did. When I asked for an additional replacement pair, they gave it to me and told me they would just take a pair out of one of the boxes to replace them. Why should I have to give you a pair out of the boxes that you NEVER ORDERED for me? Had they been ordered I would've received them in time to not need a replacement. In short, I liked my doctor but I probably won't be back. read more

They gave me an appointment at the end of the work day and I still had to wait 45 minutes for the doctor to step in my room. At one point I had to peak out of the room to make sure they haven't forgotten about me?! After I got the prescription and ordered the contacts, it took them 3months to figure out the insurance (I have eye insurance through Kstate, one would think they have enough patients associated with the university to be familiar with the insurance procedure!) read more

I used to be a patient here when I lived in Manhattan. My husband and I were visiting and he forgot his whole toiletry bag (including glasses, contacts, etc). We were in a pinch since he has pretty sensitive eyes and his one pair of daily contacts are pretty fragile. The EyeDoctors worked with our current eye doctor to get his prescription and gave us a free sample to get us through the weekend. They went above and beyond to help us on a Saturday when we weren't even patients. Very grateful for the courtesy. read more

I tried this place out years ago, and more than once. Unfortunately, they never could get my prescription correct. One lens would be off so that I had to hold my glasses at angle, or something else. After multiple attempts for them to deliver the correct lenses, I just gave up and took the best they could do (three or more attempts with weeks of waiting). That was it for me, and I never returned there. I found a much better optician in town, who nailed it first time. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

This place is getting worse by the day. Plan on spending a lot of time sitting in this office even if you have an appointment - so never take your kids to this place. The customer service is hit and miss - the prices for the glasses are much higher than anyone else around. read more

But I have never been to an eye doctor that with held the contact prescription until you made a mandatory follow up appointment that you had to pay 45 dollars for otherwise you don't get your contacts. That's where they get you because they don't tell you that until you have to pay at the end after everything is done. Very bad business. I've been to The EyeDoctors for my annual eye check-ups two years in a row now and I had good experiences both times. Dr. Keller has been very personable and helpful every time I've seen him. I've only ever ordered contacts through them but I'm not the one paying for them, as I am a student on my parents' healthcare. After ordering my contacts, they gave me a goodie bag full of contact cases and solution samples and a coupon for glasses if I decided to order through them. I also think they do a lot more than my old eye doctor at home, as far as checking for eye health and taking photos of the back of the eyes, etc. read more

They charge an outrageous amount on the eye exam and mislead me into a retinal photograph that my insurance didn't cover. Last time, my eye exam and retinal photo elsewhere were 1/3 of the price. BTW, in my visit elsewhere, I was informed upfront on the out-of-pocket amount on the retinal photo. When you enter the office, you will understand where the grand interior appearance comes from. read more

Have been coming here for 3 years now and honestly every time gets worse. I came in one time and after I walked thru the building to get to the doctors office I was directed to go back to the front to check in. You have to do this because the door leading directly into the office from outside is always locked. So after this the lady that sent me upfront and clearly saw and acknowledged me coming back to the office and sitting down waiting on the appointment. She some how forgot I was there and me going to the front and checking in did absolutely no good, because I sat there for an hour and after the hour mark I asked what the problem was she proceeded to act like she didn't know I was sitting there for an hour and the person upfront actually did not check me in??? read more

I echo the sentiment. The doctors are fine but the rest is miserable. There has been a mistake made every single transaction my family has had with this place since Dr. Young has retired; forgetting to order contacts in the first place, lying about it when I called to check the status until I backed them in the corner about what date were they actually ordered, wrong contacts ordered, attempts to charge for contacts returned and weeks to get the billing sorted out, obnoxious front help snapping their gum while speaking to me, calls to come pick lenses up only to find I can't take them or try them until I make an appt... seriously I have to drive across town to make an appointment???! This place is just a mess and if you value your time and sanity I would avoid them. read more
