Just completed two deck renewals with Heartland. One deck is multi tiered. Quote was pretty steep…read morebut went ahead with it given my interaction and expectations from the sales guys. (Leaving names out). Once the work finally got started the issues and lack of communication started. There were issues with materials for the skirting. Big communication issues on cost differences. Ends of each deck surface were not consistently built and only one having boxed ends. No communication over that until it was way too late. Pricing of extra lumber for skirting framing rather steep given it came from local menards with 11% rebates. And by the way was only 2x4 and 1x4 hung from joists. Nothing complex. . I still dont believe the lumber quantity but here we are. And multiple trips with extra charges each time. Planning ahead clearly not part of the plan. Damage to other items in the area occurred for which i paid to fix. Over all decks are solid and i live with what i have but for the next person make sure you know what your getting. I clearly got less than my expectation. Guys on team were nice and mainly respectful other than comments with owner. Never met the owner and only had one call from him during the process. quick on payment requests though.
