They agreed to refund it, but told me they would keep 35% of my deposit as a cancellation fee. $600 To my knowledge, no materials had been ordered and no installation work had started because everyone was waiting for the HOA's decision. Despite that, they kept approximately $600 from my deposit. I understand that businesses need cancellation policies, but charging such a large fee before any materials were purchased or work was performed is unfair. I was unable to proceed due to circumstances outside of my control, and I don't believe keeping hundreds of dollars in this situation is reasonable. Specially with todays economy I hope Fence Mall reconsiders how it handles situations like this, because it left me feeling like I paid $600 for absolutely nothing.
