I have been going to Fertility Institutes for over a year and during that time period I have had three egg freezing cycles. It's been hard finding a clinic where I feel comfortable. It's a long process of going in for blood work and ultrasounds. I'm happy I found Fertility Institutes. It seems as though most of the work is done by a nurse named Ana. She seems like she knows what she is doing, is professional, friendly, and on top of everything. Dr Freije is the doctor I've been working with. He is busy, but he takes time out to talk to me to be sure that I am psychologically, emotionally, and financially prepared to deal with this process. There are other doctors who maybe are willing to take money from people who they know aren't going to get a good result. My sense is that Dr. Freije gives a very conservative estimate to his patients as far as what their chance of success is and would rather not take someone's money. Overall I am happy with this place but at the same time the procedure is extremely expensive and although I don't want to do multiple cycles, it seems like I'm going to have to. There haven't been any mistakes though, just tweaking the protocol so I get a better response, they are on top of everything. I am glad I went with this place. read more

This place is a total scam. If I could give them zero stars I would. They have so many hidden fees they never tell you about. Place is outdated feels like you walked into an 80's lounge. Dr Presser didn't even know how to use the ultra sound machine - his technician had to show him. Also - he is non-responsive and never calls back. The financial services coordinator is extremely unprofessional and rude. Quoted us one price and changed it AFTER we started the process! Have to pay extra cost to get your own medical records?? Total scam. We felt this place just cared about making $$ and didn't have our best interests at heart. IVF/Surrogacy is one of the most important life decisions you can make. Please be careful. Horrible treatment. There are much better fertility clinics. The nurses here are kind, but the physicians could benefit from working on their bedside manner. My doctor here was insulting, patronizing, and practiced a paternalistic approach to healthcare rather than a transparent and collaborative approach. There were a few times where we were charged for things without being informed in advance. They made a situation that is difficult for most everyone even more difficult. If you have any questions about medications after hours or complications, it is a bit difficult to get in touch with a doctor, and be prepared to feel as if you are really taxing them and their resources if you have a question about meds after hours--even if your question is urgent and based on the fact that they forgot to provide you with all the information or changed something and didn't inform you. Even during the exams or when the doctor was deciding on a course of treatment, I felt like the doctor was acting defensive when I asked questions, no matter how demure and deferential I tried to be. He would respond as if I were questioning his judgment when I was merely trying to understand the information or the rationale or even just out of curiosity. I have never had a doctor like this before who acted as if I were being difficult simply for asking questions. Rough ultrasound. Ouch! The offices are clean, and the equipment is modern. The parking attendants are very nice. Currently, they are holding our sperm hostage by charging us an exorbitant fee to release it (even though our current fertility specialist is using their own courier, their own nitrogen tank, and providing them with a refilled tank) about which they never informed us when we initially banked it with them, and we will likely have to discuss it with them in arbitration later, even though I would be delighted to never have to deal with them again, because we don't anyone else to have to endure this kind of unprofessional treatment. Informed consent is one of the cornerstones of medical ethics after all. Incidentally, when shopping around for fertility clinics, don't be duped the SART data, consult the CDC data. read more

Negligent, uneducated nurses who don't know how to draw blood or speak to a patient. I was also never told about tests and procedures. I have work with this dr office for years an all the staff is really great an have always treated me like family. I am a surrogate mother help couples since 2004 an have always been matched up with the best couples that fit me an my believes if I had an questions or concerns they have always answered an had really great bedside manners. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for 4.5 years. We experienced all steps of trying to get pregnant with another fertility MD (timed intercourse with meds and IUI with meds) with no success. A close friend referred Dr. Steinberg and his team to us. We scheduled a consultation and were immediately won over. In our initial visit Dr. Steinberg laid out what our fertility difficulties were and what our options were. He went on to visually explain why our past treatments with the other MD would have never worked for what was causing our infertility and what would be the best treatment for getting pregnant. We worked closely with the team, especially Christine. Christine was my saving grace. No matter how stupid the question she would always answer professionally and empathetically; keeping my fears at ease. My husband and I had a rough road to finally getting to a successful pregnancy. BE AWARE! Normally I don't write reviews,but the way my wife was treated and the experience with them,give me no choice. We chose that clinic for gender selection and was the worse decisiorking there anymore.They practice a price much higher compare to others and you'll end up paying much more then initially told.After an unsuccessful frozen embryo transfer cycle,we took our remaining embryos to a different clinic,after paying ,of course,1200 cryopreservation and 500 transfer fee, otherwise thy will not release your property.Now they invented for me a new bill "storage fee" for 800.This is from the new accounted replacing Niloo ,by the name Jeannette.They have absolutely no shame in doing this,even after I was trying to explain cryopreservation and storage means the same thing. The instruction for treatment was thru Artesian app. but in 2 occasions Dr. told to follow a different procedure then stated on Artesian app. A total uncoordinated plan between nurse and Dr.,so to me is no wonder the procedure failed. PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you are considering going to The Fertility Institute. My husband and I ended up paying about $6000-$8000 more then their advertised prices. Our case was difficult and we found out AFTER we paid the nonrefundable down payment that DIFFICULT meant MUCH MORE MONEY in medications. Our approximate cost with this office and medications were about $19,000 when our originally understanding of the costs were about $12,000. Although I was worried after reading some negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. I was a surrogate and worked with Dr. Steinberg & his team in the summer of 2014. They were professional, responsive and caring. I got all of the information I needed in a timely manner. No one was ever rude, rushing or unprofessional. Dr. S answered all of my questions in a patient and kind manner. We had a successful IVF procedure, and I am pregnant with a little girl! The lady NILOO calls just wanting our credit card info and just is this annoying money collecting lady that doesn't care about the people or anything. I would give them Negative starts if there was such a thing. We went through 2 cycles with this clinic which were of no success. After our first round failed, i became pregnant a month later (on my own), At my second round, i was given some sort of shot to keep my uterus from contracting, hoping to help the odds. I was to sit for 20 mins after the shot to let my uterus 'spasm' before the embryo was implanted and then chances of it catching and holding were suppose to be higher. Later when we got to our hotel i felt my uterus spasming. I feel this KEPT me from conceiving.I think they are a money scam. Again I later got pregnant on my own. 5 years later they send me to collections for not paying an unknown storage fee for our frozen sperm we kept there during our first round but signed to destroy during our second round as we were using fresh. They say we never signed nor paid. We had signed and paid for previous years storage and they say they don't have anything! Our bill was at 0 when we left their offices after our failed second round. No phone calls in regards to our account no nothing. Sent us straight to the collectors which you have no way of fighting. Scammed us out of another $3000 US SCAMMERS!!!! read more

I write this review hoping to save other women from the pain a trauma I suffered at the Fertility Center. Avoid this clinic! They are terrible and I wish I had gone to one of the other great clinics nearby. First, they don't use enough anesthesia during the egg collection procedure so you are half-awake the entire time and you feel the needle stabbing you inside over and over again. The pain is excruciating and I was crying the entire time. The (male) doctors told me that I didn't know what I was talking about because the procedure is not supposed to be painful. This type of condescending and insensitive treatment is typical of all the staff at the Fertility Center. The nurse "Anna" is extremely rude. See will call you "honey" and "mama" and if you ask her for clarification on medication instructions she will behave as if you are the dumbest person in the world and tell you to reread your email. No one is available by phone. Once the pharmacy sent me the wrong steroid and I needed to talk to her at 6 pm for help and she was yelling at me that this error was my fault. The worst - and this gets to the level of medical malpractice - is that the clinic lost the eggs collected after one cycle and did not tell me about it. I only found out later because was suspicious when they told me that they only had one viable embryo after two cycles and 30+ eggs collected. After the embryo failed to transfer, I called back and asked the doctor to go through and look at all the eggs and what happened with each. He said, "Oh my G-d, we made a huge mistake! We didn't include a whole month's worth of eggs." They also screwed the medication several times. They overprescribed follistim and menopur - costing thousands of dollars extra - and forgot to tell the pharmacy I needed a dose of ganirelix. After I just spent the entire day driving home from the clinic, I received a call from nurse "Jane" (who has since left because she told me the clinic is the worst one she's ever worked at) that she screwed up and forgot the prescription and told me that I needed to drive all the way back to LA during rush hour to pick up the prescription because I needed to take it immediately. I told her that i would not be able to get back in time before MDR pharmacy closed and that she would have to meet me halfway. Nurse "Anna" sent me a text afterward telling me that this was my problem. Their finance person "Niloo" is extremely rude and will sneak in thousands of dollars in extra lab charges and tell you that you authorized them. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS CROWD, I cannot stress enough how dodge they are at this facility. My wife and I attended an initial consultation in 2011 and they completed what I can only describe as a totally bogus medical on myself being the male partner, nothing on my wife, after paying them an exorbitant initial fee, we left and I was totally uncomfortable with the whole experience, not long later they started demanding further payments. We immediately cancelled all further services with this organisation and walked away. Now 5 years later and totally out of the blue, they send us a bill for the storage of a sperm sample. We cancelled they services back in 2011 and were tldo that was it. They had no consent for the ongoing storage and are now threatening us with collection agencies. Do yourself a favour, go to CSP, we had wonderful experience there and now have a beautiful baby girl. We are now looking at taking counter legal action against this organisation, the lawyer we used with CSP told us at the time we had a lucky escape and CSP also mention how many people come to them after initial dealings with Dr Sternberg's fertility centre. My experience at Fertility Institutes started in 2008. I did some research and at the time they appeared to be on the cutting edge of gender selection, which wasn't that important to me, but my husband's family was adamant about it. Everything seemed legit on the website and over the phone (I traveled from FL to CA for my procedures), but from the moment I stepped foot in the place, something was off. It was like entering the twilight zone. Everyone spoke the same foreign language (that I couldn't understand) and looked alike. It was just odd....And the facility was so....'sterile,' which you would think is a good thing, right?! But no, it just all seemed so incredibly FAKE. Which it was. Nothing was personal at all. Nothing about the communication, the experience...it just all felt almost robotic and scripted. Anyway, out of the 13 viable male embryos we produced...'NONE' of them survived. Not the fresh cycle and not the frozen cycle. Yes, after the initial failure and even with all of my skepticism, we tortured ourselves again with hope and with their phony procedure and tried using our remaining frozen male embryos, which was our only reason for choosing that particular fertility institute. So again, supposedly, none of the 13 viable embryos were successful. Such a crock. I believe if they were as good as they proclaimed to be, they either sold my viable embryos or else maybe they really just sucked that bad at what they do. In either case, we knew there was no way in hell we'd ever go back to that God-forsaken place! (It looked like a scam, it smelled like a scam...therefore, I believe, a total scam!!) If that wasn't devastating enough, and the whole ordeal completely just off, awful, etc...8 years after trying to forget about it and putting it behind us and eventually moving on...8 years after vowing to never go back there again, even if someone paid ME to...8 years after we drained our entire savings for this phony ass, crooked company...they had the audacity to start calling me and telling me I owed them more money for the storage of the female embryos. 8 years later. Seriously??! I signed off on those embryos 8 years prior when I figured them all out for the lying, deceiving, money hungry crooks they were! But supposedly they couldn't find records of that. Of course they couldn't. Scammers. Now they want to put me through collections after I've already spent tens of thousands of dollars...wasted on NOTHING!! I do NOT think so!!
