Writing this review as I chose this place based off of all the positive reviews. I brought my iphone 14 in for a screen replacement as I was going to be trading in my phone in the next couple months so I obviously just wanted the cheapest option (expecting that that option would work for the next few months and what he was selling was not junk). Within a second of getting my phone back, I could tell the screen wasn't working- it was glitching out, overheating, and wasn't responding so he said oh you just need to restart your phone so I did and same problem so he took it back and replaced with another screen. At first glance it seemed to be working and then the same problem happened again. He then proceeds to tell me that with the update, these screens don't work well (WHY are you selling something that doesn't work) and then says I have no choice but to pay more and for a better quality screen, which I did begrudgingly. In my opinion, he should have ate the difference in cost and gave me the upgraded screen as the first option he sold didn't work and was defective. The new screen has since caused all sorts of problems where now my phone doesn't light up for any notifications and constantly over heats and some times goes on autopilot and starts touching things I'm not touching on the screen. I feel like I got bamboozled and swindled from shady shady business practices without reliable or good parts. Buyer beware. read more

Short version: this place scams you by installing a cheap screen, telling you it is "genuine", and charging you to replace it once it inevitably breaks. Their "lifetime warranty" does not cover this screen inevitably breaking. I have used this place three times, and it's getting more and more shady. First, I take my sister there to get her phone screen replaced. The tech replaced the phone screen, he ws friendly, talked about a "lifetime repair warranty", the price was fair, so we took it. Two months later, screen gets "internal damage". "Internal damage" is a code word that the tech uses to say "sod off, I won't honor your warranty just because the cheap screen I installed in your phone broke. Pay me again, I'll do it again." But of course, I did not know that at the time. I genuinely thought my sister had somehow managed to damage her phone in those two months, and of course, I trusted the professional over a teenager. That screen was replaced again. A few months later I have my issues with my own phone, and since these are the cheapest guys in town I take my Pixel 8 to get my screen replaced there. I still feel suspicious about the place, so I ask him to explain the terms of my "lifetime repair warranty" that they love to advertise. What kind of things were covered? He was hostile, but clear. I recall him saying "Green lines on your screen? Not covered. You drop your phone, it's not my fault. If touch not working, then I fix it." The price was $200, before tax. When I come to pick my phone up, I ask him to show me my screen to see what was wrong with it, and I ask him exactly what screen he installed in my phone. He said that he installed a "genuine Google service pack". I then go to Illinois for school. It is not even one month later and a black dot appears around my camera, growing in size. Another week passes, another black dot appears on my screen. I understand that the screen is probably going to have to be replaced again, so I hope the warranty covers it. Then a green line appears. I take my phone out of my case to see if maybe the battery is bloated, and as soon as I do that, the screen literally pops out. "Genuine" google screens get glued in there. I was starting to feel that this was not a genuine Google screen, or that he'd messed up the installation. At this point I'm not coming back to CA for two more months, so I take it to a reputable technician near my university, show him the problem. He opens it up, takes one look at it and says "that's not a Google service pack" screen. Moreover, once he takes the screen off, he shows me a stamp that says "refurbished" on it. He inspects the film on the back of the screen, and points out impressions left by a screw the technician should have tightened before installing the screen, exactly where the black dot was. He showed me what a "Google service pack" box actually looked like: it was nothing like the box the guy showed me. The deal is simple. This shop lied about the screen they installed, they installed it poorly, and they do not take any responsibility for it. Out of three screens that they have replaced for us, two have broken. It is not worth saving $20 to then go pay $200 again. Breaking a screen sucks, and it feels nice to save money fixing it. Don't fall for that. Pay the extra $20 dollars and get it replaced properly, or send it to a mail-in shop for cheaper. read more

This was my first time having a repair done by The Fix. I have always used uBreakiFix. The Fix is located inside Walmart - Livermore. This is a great Walmart by the way, good clean store with customer friendly representatives. Once The Fix opened (located directly across from Walmart check out stands), the new employee on the job Saturday morning quickly fixed my iPhone. The iPhone was not charging, primarily due to the charging area being dirty and needed to be cleaned. I was charged a fair, reasonable price and the job was done within 15 minutes. Best of all, there is a sign out front that says "no taxes,' so you only pay a flat free for what you're charged. read more

I spent ONE MONTH without cell phone service (no talk, text, or data other than on wifi. Error message saying I'm not connected to a network and can only place emergency calls) after a screen replacement due to the technician, Elmin Habibov, damaged my cell phone's antenna during the screen replacement. I took it back to him FOUR (4) TIMES all while doing troubleshooting from my cell phone carrier (even getting my SIM card replaced) and extensive troubleshooting with Samsung to try and fix the issue. I finally requested my money back because he basically broke my phone. He finally said he'll order the antenna and try to repair it once it comes in. If that didn't work he offered a full refund. FINALLY my phone works after the antenna was replaced today, but I'm wondering who is going to compensate me for the $50 cell phone service fee that I lost for not being able use my cell phone service for a month?
