Kingston Upon Thames

I ordered 2 sofas and an armchair with electric recliner and head rests in August 2021. It has been…read morea catalogue of errors from the start and still (one year later) I haven't got a full set of fully functioning furniture that I paid £4,500 for. Phone calls and emails have been ignored and is the worst customer service I have ever come across.

Utterly shocking - incompetent and total disregard for even a basic level of customer service…read more Having reported a faulty mattress on a sofa bed (metal spring protruding from mattress) we were offered a complete replacement sofa bed. I also raised a secondary claim for a suit that was torn on the spring - the suit claim was paid out but only after chasing and threatening to go to the small claims court. The replacement sofa was delivered and the old one collected. The delivery team failed to secure the bed mechanism and subsequently gauged the wallpaper and plaster in our hallway and stairs. The delivery driver even stated ' he was being lazy not fastening the mechanism'. Third claim now raised and we are dealing with the Warehouse Manager ?!?!? Furniture Village send their 'decorators' round and we agree the making good and decorating. Decorator's arrive and state they can touch in the textured wall paper rather than wall papering over. I agree as long as they can match the texture. Suffice to say they filled the wallpaper, did not even sand it and there was no effort to match the texture. Plaster was not filled, paint not cut in so previous colour visible in places, one coat only so old previous colour visible under full light and...... Paint on the carpet, Paint on the decking and brickwork outside. You are incompetent at every level with a complete disdain for you customers. It is with regret that I have to resort to social media and review sites in order to be heard.

Morden

This is a large garden centre run by the National Trust in Morden Hall Park…read more The main event is an incredibly spacious outside area with a dizzying selection of plants. For so urban an area, the range and quality are both excellent. The garden centre itself is more your typical national trust shop, and definitely mid- to high-end, but they have a wide range of gardening tools, clothing and nick-knacks for decorating your garden, plus the usual range of NT books, gifts and lots of tempting impulse purchases. It is spaciously laid out but easy to navigate. There's a very nice cafe adjacent, so it makes for a great afternoon out.

On sunny days in Morden, you can see a long line of cars attempting to get into the garden centre…read morecar park. The access is the main problem and the car park can be a bit of a traffic jam when people are drawn out by the good weather. From the car park, you can access the main garden centre, Maidenhead Aquatics, a little cafe/gift shop and Morden Hall Park. I've reviewed the aquatic centre separately and will concentrate on the main garden centre. There is a large outdoor section with plants of all sizes for sale as well as tubs and ornaments. At this of year, I love hunting the aisles for newly sprouted herb and vegetable plants to put into my garden. I was able to purchase 4 varieties of tomatoes and some carrots this Sunday. Indoors, there is a good variety of seeds and gardening paraphernalia as well as a small section for pets and gifts. The staff are always helpful with suggestions and tips. The cafe is worth a visit for a tea time cake and cup of tea after a walk in the park. A pleasant day out in sun.

Wimbledon

Always a shop with eye-catching displays, this shop is located very near to Raynes Park station…read more Chock-full of lights (ceiling fixtures, table lamps etc.), mirrors and decorative objects for the home, there are also a multitude of cute cupboards and tables for your home. Not enormous pieces, but the ones that really make a place home - such as nests of tables, bathroom units etc. Prices seem fairly competitive with stores in Wimbledon/Kingston but without the hassle of having to find parking. The aftercare service is also good; the lady who runs it is very helpful and friendly and will offer advice if you like.
