Really nice track for a public muni, but they jacked their prices up so much that they're being arrogant.

It's been a year since last playing here, so when I booked my sales meetings this year I made sure to pack the sticks and book a T-time here. The course has a bunch of great holes, some easy and some very challenging but overall a very fair course. The entire staff was very professional & friendly. read more

It's been years since I've played here, but it used to be one of my go-to courses when I lived in the area. It was nothing special, just dependable and reasonably priced. I had to be in the area this weekend and decided to check it out again, especially after reading some positive reviews of the renovation. Wow. I was so impressed. Not only was the staff super friendly and helpful, but the course exceeded all my expectations. Tee boxes were in great condition, the greens were perfect with lots of undulation, and the facilities were clearly well cared for. Even the often overlooked signage was well thought out. You will never wonder where the driving range is, or where the next tee box is like a lot of courses I play. You will see a sign that points you in the right direction. The real kicker though was how well priced it was. I played after 11am in the summer which is usually cheaper to begin with, but I pay $5-10 more than this in the Lauderdale area for half the quality. They obviously put a lot of effort and money into this renovation and should be rewarded for it. Go play The Florida Club! You will not be disappointed. read more

I reserved a two-some through Golf Now, but had to cancel it. 24-hour notice required, but I canceled 48-hours ahead of time. Cool, right? NO! The Florida Club ran the card anyway, and refused my rebate request. I was told the Florida Club was a special place, demand was high, but somehow 48 hours was insufficient time to re-book. I had my credit card company reverse the charge while awaiting settlement. My requests for response from the Florida Club and Golf Now's CEO Brett Darrow have been ignored. Not impressed! read more

I'm not sure why you would go to Florida Golf Club over other similarly priced courses in the area. They are not at all concerned about operating safely during COVID or the well-being of their customers whatsoever. I've golfed numerous courses over the past 4-5 years and am usually impressed by the sport as a whole for having such great staff and reasonable individuals at most every course I visit. Not once have I felt compelled to write a review until today. We had a foursome booked for a Monday and showed up to pay, letting them know we would have a threesome, as our fourth golfer believed they were exposed to COVID. They seemed like they understood the situation, as I feel like any reasonable person/employee would, not wanting to expose other golfers or their staff to COVID. I was most definitely wrong. Two days later I received a notification from GolfNow stating that my card was being charged for not showing up to my tee time. Thinking this was obviously a system generated error, I reached out to the pro shop and spoke to the head pro (Brendan, I believe). Not only was he rude and condescending, he openly acknowledged that he did not operate differently during COVID times and would rather have individuals show up to their tee time knowing they have been potentially exposed to COVID than not show up at all. He continually referred to their 24 hour cancellation policy, to which he also acknowledged their club was operating under normal functionality and procedure and didn't seem at all concerned about COVID. I was pretty taken aback by his incompetence and arrogance surrounding the situation and our conversation as a whole. Brendan had no interest in resolving or coming to a fair conclusion regarding this situation. All in all, I was charged for 4 tee times when we only had 3 golfers in order to help not spread COVID, although I was not made aware of this additional charge when we initially checked in for our tee time at the clubhouse. The managements lack of concern for its customers and employees safety during these times is truly alarming. After a GolfNow representative I contacted (the company who handles their reservations and tee times directly through the course website) attempted to contact the head pro (Brendan), explain the situation, and get a refund for me as well, they still declined. It's one thing to have a stubborn golf pro, it's another to put others health and well-being at risk and not cooperate with a company that you partner directly with. read more

I am a regular customer of the FLA Club. I find the course great but the staff difficult to put up with. More times than not, the bag staff is sitting in carts are standing around as I drive in. They regularly do not greet me or take my bag out of my car. However, when I finish, they're on me like flies wiping down my clubs for a tip. Every time I'm there, the Starter has a sign on his both asking for tips. Yesterday, I came into the Shop with my friend for whom I purchased a Summer Membership. He lives out of town and this was his first time back since the Summer Membership went into effect. The Shop Attendant could not find his name on the Summer list, and asked my friend 5x how he spells his last name. At that point the Golf Professional, Brendon Murphy, interrupted and told us he would help us as soon as he finished with the 3 or 4 golfers--all of whom came into the Shop after us. When he finally got around to us, he couldn't find my friend's name on the list. Despite me being a "regular," he denied my request to have my friend pay the summer rate. Brendon treated me and my friend with total rudeness and insinuated I was lying. He treated us as 2 teenagers trying to sneak in a round. The FLA Club is lucky that the Fox Club has closed, otherwise we would have spent our $90 Greens Fees and $25 bar tab at the Fox Club. It will be a long time before I return to the FLA Club and I sure as Hell won't be joining as a Summer Member next year. while the course is great and the conditions are mint, the consumer experience is not up to par. Brendon Murphy is a PGA Professional who clearly doesn't seem to like interacting with golfers except through weekly emails advertising his $80/hour lesson plan. Seems the FLA Club's ownership is fine having such a representative, as I've know more than a few who have been treated indignantly by Mr. Murphy and his Staff. My recommendation, try one of the other public golf facilities in the area. read more

**Update** I played the course today and what an improvement. Fairways and greens are all in good shape. New management has taken over and they are getting things back on track! ** Course conditions are pretty poor, especially for this time of year. They have a sign on the pro shop door blaming El Niño for conditions. Funny thing though other local courses are in great shape. Weeds and brown throughout most fairways. Price is low but in return you experience very slow pace of play. Hopefully they are committed to improvements; only time will tell. read more

Renovations are A+. Staff is friendly. Last 3 holes are a good test. #16 is bananas. One of my favorite courses north of palm beach county.

Beautiful course, horrible customer service. Played seven holes when the thunder and lightning started at 10:15. Got to the cart barn and waited until 10:45. Pro shop said the superintendent had to evaluate before any rain checks were issued. We decided to quit since rain, thunder, and lightning continued. Four bag guys stayed nice and dry in the barn while old men lugged bags to their cars in pouring rain. I've never seen anything like it. At 11:00 pro shop said it could be another hour before the superintendent could make a determination. We left without a rain check. I'll never go back there again. read more

The new course is set up for younger people who like to walk a lot from cart to green,the new cart setup with alarms on them when you get approx 40 or so yards from the green make it hard on older people,they need to change that a little ,other than that the course is really nice. read more

DO NOT book this course now. They are getting ready to close for a summer, renovation, so "construction" has started. They should call it "destruction." We booked a 2:21 tee time on the phone yesterday for today. When we got there the bag boy told us that all of the fairways had been sprayed with Roundup, and there is no grass left. Needless to say we could see from the parking lot that they were BROWN. The manager told me that we should have been told that this was happening, but we were not. Yes the price was decent ($20 for 18 holes after 1:30) but we NEVER would have driven 35 minutes to play here had we known. We were advised not to touch our face/eyes while playing due to the toxic chemicals. We would have gone elsewhere, but one of our group was on a time crunch, so we decided to stay. AVOID at all cost. read more

The course itself would get four stars and this was a regular stop on our golf trip. Apparently, management has changed and drained the "fun" out of golf. It's a VERY serious game. Duane, the new manager went out of his way to stop serving my group, for the protection of his golf course. I need to share that he did this after serving our entire group of 8, 24 drinks over a 5 hour round. That is three beers a guy on a very hot day. As you can imagine we were relatively unaffected. Oh, did I also mention that the entire crew is in their 40's and 50's. Lock up your children and wives, you can imagine the havoc we could cause. I write this because it just a shame, we enjoyed that place and in years past the previous Managment enjoyed sitting with us on the back porch and buying us a round. But in my opinion Duane has decided it's time to run an elitist club that will turn away fun and on average $750-$1000 in green's fees, pro shop purchases and food and beverage. The good thing is Florida is filled with great courses that would love to entertain us and take our money.
