Note they also offer happy hour (aka monkey hour ) Tuesday-Friday 3-5:30 I ordered the frazberry froze which was really good it literally tasted like a raspberry sorbet in drink form which I loved . Service was great our server was very attentive and checked up on us regularly and we got our food pretty quick . For my entree I ordered the chicken sandwich . Which was grilled chicken , bacon , Avacado and a creamy aioli served in a fresh bun and a side of fries ! Soooo good highly recommend. I truly miss when The Flying Monkey was located at HFD Airport. The setting was unmatched being able to enjoy a meal while watching planes take off and land created a unique and memorable experience. The food, at that time, consistently matched the atmosphere and made it a place worth returning to. Since its relocation, however, the experience has not been the same. While it's nice that they still offer live music and occasional events, the overall quality particularly the food no longer meets the standard I once associated with it. Come here about once a month or so. Never have had a bad experience. The decor is cute with a monkey theme but not as overkill. The service has always been good. The food has always been well prepared, well cooked, well presented and enjoyed by all we dine with. Another thing I appreciate is that the owner is there. Greeting people as they come in and making rounds. He cares about his business and his customers and it shows. This was my first time here. The place is covered in monkey decorum which I absolutely love and if you have any monkey lovers in your life, bring them there. You can purchase monkeys at the door. The bathroom even has monkey themed wallpaper. Now to the food. The food was delicious. My daughter and I ordered a few of odds and ends. We ordered the Delta Donuts, Flying Monkey Wings 8ct Spicy Monkey flavored, Flying Monkey Wings 8ct BBQ, and two B-52 Burritos. We were so stuffed after eating the donuts and most of the wings that we took the burritos home. The burritos do reheat perfectly so they are good the next day. The BBQ flavor was your basic BBQ and the spicy monkey was an interesting flavor. I definitely liked it. The service there was really good. We were seated right away. Our waitress was funny and checked in on us periodically but didn't interrupt us if she noticed we were in depth chatting. I came here for brunch with some foodie friends and we had a great time. This was my first time coming to this establishment and the restaurant provided great vibes. During are brunch, many of my foodie friends ordered some food and I was able to decide what I wanted. I eat with my eyes and some of my foodie friends ordered the Chicken and Waffles and their famous Chicken Wings. Some of the people who ordered the Chicken and Waffles said the chicken was on the dry side and needed more seasoning. Also, I didn't like how the Waffles looked because they seemed like they were undercooked. So, I know I wasn't ordering that and I was able to try a wing from one of my foodie friends. The Chicken Wings were good but for me, I would like my chicken to be fried hard. I decided to go with the brunch burger that was on menu called the Top Burger. The Top Burger was okay. My only option was to sit at the bar top which I did not wish to do because of the high chairs. Recently went back after so many years to cela birthday . It was a Friday and it was packed. Going in circles trying to find to find parking and waiting for our table in which we had reservations for. They did have a live band on Friday which was cool but it's very busy in there so you might be able to hear some of it . Our server was wonderful..very good. Once we put in our order our food took almost an hour! Took long. We were so hungry! But everyone seem To love what they had ordered. My salad, carne asada was spicy for my taste. The food that was presented to me was more like food imposters. The menu definitely misrepresented the food in front of me. The patty for the hot honey chicken sandwich looked like a food magnet. Also, how do you use the same patty for the Hot Honey Chicken patty and the Aviator Chicken entree with the exception of the melted cheese? I tried some festive drinks for the season including the O'Christmas tree margarita with coconut crème, the stroke of midnight (tasted like a rainbow cookie), The Grinchtini (too minty for me), Drunken Monkey rum punch (very tropical), Asian pear martini with elderflower, and S'mores takeoff (flavorful with vanilla chocolate hazelnut espresso). From my photos you can see presentation was on point. For appetizer I had juicy tasty flying monkey wings with spicy sauce, it came with crispy fried jalapeños. Even though the portion was small for entree, I'm happy I chose the tasty fuel for your flight; medium NY strip steak topped with yummy chimichurri sauce with poached eggs and home fries. I traded a bite with my man's waffle and fries entree, I thought the breast piece I tried was a bit dry; also his carne frita appetizer. I don't eat too much pork so a bite was enough for me, it had a lot of flavor and went well with the tostones. For desert I ordered a delicious banana fosters shortcake to split; butter cake with bananas flamed (like a brûlée) with rum and brown sugar, topped with pecans and whipped cream. I don't revisit too many places because I like to try new spots, but I'll come back for this desert and to try more food items and drinks. We were a large crowd of 30+ and the server was on point. I had great expectations going in, but unfortunately they were not met. I dined in as a group of 4. Our server was very nice and friendly. However, she took our orders not writing it down. When servers do this it makes me nervous that they will not get something right. It was not busy at all in the restaurant, we were seated on the left side and there was only 1 other woman in the restaurant dining on that side the entire time we were there and there was no patrons at the bar either. We waited longer than usual for our food. When it finally was brought out, by a different employee, i noted i was given the wrong salad dressing. I had ordered the scallop cobb salad but asked for it with apple cider vinaigrette - instead of the house made ranch dressing it usually comes with. I have a dairy intolerance and while i can eat dairy, it upsets my stomach, so that is why i asked for the dressing substitution. Well my salad came with the ranch dressing on it. Having waited extra long for our food and not wanting for my company to feel obligated for me to wait while they remade my food, i did not say anything when our original server finally came back to our table to check on us. I also do not trust sending food back to kitchens. I ate my food, and my group all enjoyed their items. But i was very disappointed that i waited so long for my food and when it finally came it was made wrong because the server couldn't bother to write my order down in the first place to make sure it was correct. I was looking for a new happy hour spot and decided to give this place a try. Hubs and I got there about 4:30 and snagged two seats at the bar. Kathy was our bartender and boy was she wonderful! She greeted us with a smile, super attentive, and very kind. We were sure to let the management team know about her excellent service on our way out. Now let's talk about food, we stuck to the happy hour menu and ordered the chicken sliders, the burger sliders, the spicy shrimp and the fried mozzarella. The spicy shrimp were definitely our favorite followed by the chicken sliders! We asked for some of their house made ranch for dipping, which was delicious! The burger sliders did not come with all of the toppings that were listed in the menu and we had to ask for them. After waiting the burgers became cold and weren't they weren't that great. The fried mozzarella appeared to have sat under the heat lamp too long and was lackluster. On to drinks! Hubs ordered the golden monkey beer which he thoroughly enjoyed! I decided to go with one of the seasonal cocktails, ordering the banana bread old fashion! Hands-down, my new favorite! I took a picture of the ingredients so I can try to re-create it at home as well lol! As for ambience, the live music started at about 6pm! We really enjoyed it. So much so that we bought a CD from the singer - Kenny Hamber! He was fantastic and even sat next to us at the bar and shared some great conversation during his break! We had to wait 30 minutes to get wine we ordered when we sat down bc they needed to wash wine glasses, and then they used water glasses anyway (or server forgot?) and it went downhill from there. It was fairly busy, but even taking that into account service seemed a bit slow, especially for a family with two kids. Everyone's food was decent enough, and the menu had a decent menu that hit on both sides (breakfast and lunch) of brunch. But no one over the top raved about their food. My husband had the Elote pappardelle the portion size was great it was very creamy and delicious if you're looking for a (heavy ) pasta dish the steak that came with it was done to perfection . What a phenomenal happy hour visit!!! I don't have a single bad thing to say about my visit. The drinks were amazing, as was the food, and the service! The bartenders were both very friendly and went the extra mile to ask my name subsequently addressed me as such. After initially being greeted and tasting my delicious rum punch the other bartender told me it was my server's second day! She was doing an amazing job. For my drinks, I had the rum punch and the margarita ($6 during happy hour), both were delicious. The margarita had a jalapeño salt rim on it - something I've never seen before, but I love it! For food I got the happy hour burger and wedge salad. I was shocked at the size of the burger for $8 - definitely a full size burger and not smaller happy hour portion. The wedge salad was one of the best salads I've ever tried - they were very generous with the toppings. My friend ordered the buffalo wings - I didn't try them, but they looked & smelled delicious. Looks like the menu can get a bit pricey for dinner, so I would probably stick to happy hour, but I'll definitely be back.
