Although you are limited with your food, the options are slightly better than the buffet style over at Aspire Lounge. With that said, this also means you will need to wait about 5-10 minutes for your food to come out. I did see pictures of some of food options, and ones like the bacon roll and sausage sub did not look quite appetizing. It may be a bit of a hit or miss here with the food, but I can tell you that the mac and cheese was yummy. The sauce was cheesy and full of truffle oil, which I requested --maybe a little too much truffle oil to be honest. I added extra crispy onions from the side counter as well. There are some bread, salad, baked goods, and soup options that is free for all if the entree isn't enough for you. I did find this lounge more relaxing and bright, especially with the high ceilings. I'd come to this lounge for the atmosphere, but Aspire for the food; although both are not too far of a stretch. Or if you have the time, you can go to both like I did (because my flight was delayed).

The lounge itself is nice but the food is meh! The seatings are like very classy type, a nice bar at the side. Service: The bar tender is nice and also the guy who checks me in. Food: They have a small buffet type of breads, cereals and juices. They have a menu handed by a guy who checks u in and once you chose the food you want to order you will tell the bartender what you want then they will serve it to you. Here is the problem, all the food on the menu does not taste good, well I mean I ordered 2. First I had CLASSIC SAUSAGE SUB: it was 2 sliced sausage with ketchup on a bun, it taste ew, like I didn't eat any. I told myself maybe I'll try the POACHED EGG with AVOCADO: still taste ew, the egg is like mid hard boiled egg and the avocado has a plastic taste on it. So what did I do? I moved to the next door lounge and the food was waaayyy better!! 100x better. Price rating: Had access here cause of my Chase reserve card. The interior is pretty nice, I felt like the people go here just to feel that they are special because of the atmosphere, but the food was meh.

We were lucky enough to just show up and grab a semi-circle shaped booth by the bar without any wait. We LOVED that a) the cocktail menu clearly stated "All drinks vegan, please inform staff of any allergens before ordering" and b) that they had the shape of the glassware next to the drink name. The bartender even took some time to make recommendations based on both what was most popular with customers and what the house/staff favorites were. We ended up going with the Porty Licks (gin, pineapple liquor, passionfruit, toasted almond topped with edible flowers) and Green Room (bourbon, peach liquor, lemon, peach, basil yuzu). Both were really well balanced drinks! Next time I'd get the King Khan (spiced rum and a mango oat lassi) or the Hare Krishna (mango, oat milk, chilli, coconut cream, and cardamom - sounds like a lovely non-alcoholic beverage and dessert)!

My non vegan friend even picked into my plate. Great drinks! The staff were friendly and attentive! The decor of this place was amazing; looked like something out of a movie. Honestly, I was surprised that the lounge wasn't that full. We found seating right away near some windows. I think it was a view of the parking lot. It was still dark outside when we arrived early in the morning. The coffee is great! They serve Union Hand-Roasted Coffee in all of their lounges. The breakfast options are good here. I believe I had a fruit salad and a pastry. There were sausages, streaky bacon, porridge, and other items. I was still trying to wake up at that point. The one thing that I was most impressed with was the Tunnocks Tea Cakes. I'd never had this Scottish treat before. It's like a Mallomar marshmallow cookie, only it's not as sweet and the marshmallow is light & fluffy. It was nice that there was a special area of Scottish treats at the tea bar. They also had the Scottish tablets and shortbread. What a treat! It was a quiet lounge that even included some private work pods for those traveling alone. Most of the seats had charging stations. It was modern, clean, comfy, and quiet in there. It was nice just to be away from the busy terminal.

The food and drinks area are no longer self-service, but the staff member was friendly and helpful. Plus points for BA serving real champagne for its sparkling wine choice vs the usual Prosecco or cava. This lounge was also directly opposite my gate so it was a very simple jump from here over to the plane. If you're flying BA, save a little time and stop here before the flight.

We had trumpet, sax, organ, guitar bass and drums as well as a vocalist. We did a lot of Chicago songs as well as Blood, Sweat & Tears, Blodwin Pig, The Faces, Neil Young and the Ides of march. Fond memories and so happy to see this place rise once again from the ashes. I've visted several times for a coffee and often have one of their large Pain au raisins........much larger than any others in Edinburgh ! The staff are all very pleasant and I really love the laid back atmospphere in this new and much improved building. The builders did a really splendid job of the renovation. Teviot Row House is the oldest purpose built student union in the world. Sitting in George Sq…read morecampus overlooking Bristo Sq, Teviot offers a great and convenient service. I'm really glad that the other reviewers have given Teviot such high ratings and I just want to lend my support. I've heard many people complaining in the past and wanted to counter some of those opinions. Teviot first and foremost houses the student Library Bar- a nice bar with a library theme. Obviously there are cheap drinks and deals to be expected. My only complaint is the food. Take the burgers. The quality is fine, I mean their pretty dry and plain. But they seem a little expensive for what you get, given that its a student union. Also the number of times I have ordered a veggie burger only to be served a beef one is countless. I think the food is one of the main complaints I've heard from others, and I agree it could be improved. But this alone isn't enough to detract from the overall quality of the palce. Teviot also contains a club, several other bars (not always open) a Costa cafe, several sitting areas and rooms that can be hired by societies or used to hold meetings including a debating chamber. Overall Teviot just has a really nice feel that welcomes students. I've been in other student unions that have felt a bit cliquey or just run down. Teviot offers something for most students. And I have to say I love the 16th century Scottish based architecture.
