What a warm, welcoming woman owned business; the owner, Sawsan, is a delightful, lovely woman. Many framing options in the shop plus a variety of beautiful, creative and unique artwork: paintings and various other mediums. I went in looking for a specific oil painting by J.Huber, another bird to add to and compliment my other two paintings. I was directed to where Huber's works were on display. I was immediately drawn to this painting, a California Scrub Jay I believe, and put it aside to purchase. I can't wait to see this piece e with my other two, a hummingbird and crow, gifts I received from my mother who purchased them from Sawsan's shop. Great experience, fun to see the owner's personal collections, favorites, framed art and her personal works she has painted or drawn. My husband had this print of an Australian Cattledog looking at the view of lake that he had gotten from Etsy. He had the print for over 2 years and was "working" on getting it framed. I decided to have it frame for Father's Day. The owner was so warm and friendly. She took the time to show us different color and textures of frames and she included my daughter in the decision making process. "Artistic Geniuses encountered on way to Biergarten!" On my way to the Beer Parlor nextdoor, I happened to notice they were having an art festival, so I popped into this delightful store. Many artists were on hand for the "Tri-Valley Artist Studio Tour." Each artist was super friendly, and explained their various works to me. They had everything from sculpture to watercolor to photography to acrylics to henna tattoos. I happened to mention my wife had lots of tattoos. At that point the tattoo artist grabbed me, and before I knew it I had a henna tattoo on my hand. Wonderful! Now I can tell my wife I also have a tattoo. She will love me! My friends at the beer garden next door noticed my tattoo immediately and were suitably impressed. I had a chance to talk to the nice owner, Sawsan, who gave me a little bit of history of this location. They have been in this location for decades! What a delightful set of people who work here, as well as the creative people displaying their works. They did a great job reframing a lithograph that I originally purchased in the 80's. I brought it in and told the owner that we would like give this a more modern look without investing a ton of money. So she took a look at it with us and suggested changing the colors of the matting, clean up the existing glass and frame, then reseal it. So I stumbled upon this place after a nearby shop owner sent me here because they had unique clocks displayed in their window... that's what I was looking for... a clock (not a frame). I mean, why go to a specialty frame store instead of a cheaper place like Michaels, or the like... well... So, the clocks that they had were unique, but they were made out of car parts and I was hoping for a different theme for a "fishing" room I was working on... but the owner, Sawsan, was so helpful and interested in my project that I felt like I was talking with another creative brain! It's difficult to find people who are interested in a project that has nothing to do with what they're selling. I did have something that needed to be framed, but I was heading to Michaels later that week to have them price it. After dealing with someone there who couldn't have cared less with my framing project, I turned back and went to the Frame Company. Yes, she was more expensive, but I truly feel like I received a superior product than I would have at Michaels. I also feel like she was able to work with me on matting color selection, and even better, she worked with me on a time schedule. She knew when my project was "due" (I had a limited amount of time to finish the room to surprise my son before he came home) and she worked to pick another matting color that would fit the frame measurements I had given her so that the project could be done on time. (I was having the frame made from vintage boards and I had given her the wrong measurements... whoops) The increase in cost was "paid for" by the increase in confidence I had in her choices and creativity. Sawsun helped us find a beautiful frame that fit our budget. She was very helpful and easily understood the "look" we wanted. There were many options and choices to choose from but she helped guide us with narrowing them down to a few key options to help us make a decision we won't regret. This is an excellent frame shop! We took a charcoal drawing in to be framed under glass. Sawsan was very helpful in picking out different combinations of frames and matting, all of which worked great with the drawing. From the time we dropped it off to when it was ready to pick up, it took about 2 weeks (special order frame, matting, special glass). The framed drawing was beautiful. We were very happy with the quality of her work. We have had artwork framed at other frame shops, but Sawsan's craftsmanship has been the best. I came here with high hopes to get a custom shadow box made for my brothers wedding gift. I was ready to pay top dollar for quality work. What I received was horrible customer service. Did not complete job when she had promised so I was unable to give him his gift on his wedding day. She did not even return my calls when I was asking if it was completed. For the price, the work done was just mediocre, $300 for mediocre work is not a good deal. The worst and most disappointing thing was not once did I ever get an apology. This is my first on line review to share the superb service I experienced with this frame company. As a frequent traveller, I often search for unique artwork on the trip. Last summer, I brought home a large silk artwork, a Xu style Embroidery from Szechuan, China. A beautiful and one of its kind collection. I brought it to Sawsan for reframing and found out that the delicate silk work was actually mounted on a plywood backing. With the warping nature of the plywood, it took Sawsan two weeks to press the plywood to make it straight enough to be famed. Not to mentioned that the warping of the plywood broke a museum acrylic during the framing process. At the end, It was framed with a museum glass due to its rigidity. I would say this framing work is a framer's nightmare. However, I'm so blessed that I had Sawsan handled the job. There was no one broken silk and she did not charge me for the expensive museum arcrylic. With her attention to detail and great patience, this beautiful framed portrait is now hanging in the foyer of my home.
