Dr.Franz is a gem of a human being. I don't see why she get's so much hate online. I used to pay almost $500 a month for direct primary care doctors here in central Florida for a family of 5. Her prices are so reasonable for as many visits as you need. read more

We have been patient of The FranzCenter for several years. They recently changed their policies and do not offer any sort of grace period for appointments. In fact, they expect you to arrive 30 minutes EARLY just to sit in a waiting room for at LEAST 30 minutes waiting for your appointment. Today, I arrived 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time only to be told that I either need to reschedule or they will charge me $150. They said it was because they were running behind and did not have time to see my daughter now. Mind you, I was five minutes late! We live on the other side of town, over 45 minutes of a drive. I do not recommend this practice anymore and have canceled my membership immediately. We will do business with physicians that want our business. read more

Do not recommend... I loved the idea of finding a holistic ped for my new baby but had an awful experience with the Franz Center. Extremely expensive to not even get to meet with pediatrician. We are told a $35 monthly charge is because they are holistic and insurance doesn't always pay so we have been paying it for months now. I drive an hour to get there and am told I have to pay 100% before leaving the office because they show my insurance as inactive (apparently the $35/month is for nothing). They would not work with me at all or send me a bill so I can figure it out before paying. That was not all, I was there with my 3 children and was repeatedly told I had to have someone else there because I can't be in 2 rooms at once. It's just me right now and she kept telling me I should have been told which I was not. After paying monthly, driving an hour away, missing work and keeping kids home from school they did not care at all, didn't even fake it. Sadly we like the doctors but the office staff and management is horrible and does not care about you or your children. The entire time we were there we were the only ones in the office. The place was empty. I can only assume that the $35/month is to pay the 7 people working there with 0 patients as they turned us away. Since then we have called several times which just goes to an answering service and have yet to talk to anyone. First call was sent to a new patient setup line, second call was dropped, so forth and so on. Eventually we we got routed to an answering machine that we left a message on. If I can save someone else I will. The first sign should have been that I was hounded once I inquired to sign up. When I had my first appt canceled the day before that I waited a week for and "found out" on my own the MD doesn't see children unless requested virtually and only on Fridays I decided to go elsewhere. They wouldn't refund my money and were no help. I was told my money wouldn't be refunded due to them using their "time". Obviously not in the business to "help children holistically" as advertised. Dr. Franz is the most money hungry doctor I have ever heard of!!!!!!!!!! I was told that we have to now pay $35 a month because, and I quote "Dr. Franz is the only holistic doctor in Orlando so you have to pay monthly to become a member". I found this so horrible. Not only am I paying $100 copays for each visit but now I have to pay $35/month just because you chose to. Sadly, I have left the practice and DID find another holistic doctor in the Kissimmee area that is not charging a monthly cost to see your child. IF YOU HAVE A CHILD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. In late August we established my son as a patient, we reviewed their vaccine friendly policies, all went well. In September my son had a week of diarrhea. I had to call for 4 days straight to get him seen for an appointment just to be told that Dr. Franz doesn't see sick patients in person and will only handle sick visits via virtual visit. When I asked if I could simply speak with a nurse to get advice on how to handle his diarrhea, I had to leave a voice message for the nurse. I never received a call back and we ultimately had to go to the ER to resolve his diarrhea. Fast forward to October and it's time to schedule his 12 month well visit. Now Franz is no longer seeing ANYONE in person (well or sick), and that all appointments are to be done virtually. Ok, so for a check up I'm just supposed to hold my kid up to my camera and then what? How is his general health being assessed? And here's the best part of all-I have to pay a $50 registration fee to even set up the virtual appointment. HUH? So now it costs $50 just to display my son on virtual visit? Franz has the worst office administration I have ever experienced and has shown me that she has zero ability to care for my son. Now I have to scramble and find a Pediatrician that will actually provide care for my son. I wouldn't put a stray dog in this woman's hands. If you're second guessing this place, you're right to do so. Took my newborn here on a recommendation from a colleague. The center front desk staff had a attitude and not friendly. I was taken to a different area to sit because I had a newborn The lady that took his weight and height barely knew what she was doing. Like she's never handled a newborn before. She measured his height incorrectly and I didn't see her wash her hands or use gloves. In fact in the middle of covid not one person had a mask on! The NP was nice and was informative. She recommended giving my baby water. I did some of my own research and contacted another doctor who was completely against giving water. I really like the care that my children receive here. All of the practitioners we have seen have been great. They definitely care for the kiddos and they even remember my child's name when we come in for well visits. The one thing that is a little frustrating is trying to get a same day appointment for a sick visit. If it's a Monday morning, you can forget it. I was trying to call and get through and would just get the same message that they were getting a high call volume or short staffed so call back later. Then the voice message would hang up. They are a small office with many many patients as they are one of the very few that take an integrative approach. Plan to use your local urgent care for things like same day sick visits because there's a good chance you won't get in. I've heard many complaints about their front office staff but I've never had a bad experience. They've always been pleasant and helpful. Right now they are 100% virtual unless you have a newborn, are getting a physical or your wellness vaccines. If you really need to see a doctor in person, I'd suggest urgent care. read more

Their employees running the front desk really don't care about the patients. We've been going there for 3 years and today, they wouldn't see us cause they're claiming that we were new patients. We have been on their payment packages forever and now we're out all that money. Also, if you're looking for treatment, this clinic won't ever prescribe anything. I put up with them because when I can actually get a child in an exam room the care is great. But more often than not they are awful and we end up at urgent cares, specialists, or walk-in clinics for care. I have been calling for a sick child for 12 days. I leave messages, emails, and call multiple times. I have yet to receive a response. I did however get a Facebook message 2 weeks later saying in can pay the after hour fee to speak to a care member... I would've taken it a week ago... My kids were patients since their birth as we are in favor of traditional medicine. Like any other business, Franz Center had good and bad, but the latest addition of the membership is just outrageous. We already pay for health insurance and it is just ridiculous to pay an extra $35 monthly especially when we visit the center only once per year. "Copay, co-insurance, and deductibles per child will still be collected at the time of service as usual according to your insurance plan" ( Franz Center Website) .If one opts-out the membership, each visit costs $240 out of pocket. Horrible communication. The company incorrectly billed us. Because we were overbilled, ny wife hadvto come out of pocket over $200 for an appointment. I called over five times to correct the issue but that didnt work. I had to travel from Kissimmee to catch the manager. We got that situation squared away which left a credit on our account. Two visits in two days because both of my kids have strep throat. The staff and nurses are wonderful. They remember my kids, ask about their lives and encourage them through even the tough stuff like throat cultures. The nurse practitioner who we saw today was wonderful and gave us many homeopathic options to help relieve the symptoms, along with the prescription for antibiotics to treat strep. Despite my kids going to The Franz Center for the past eight years, I was unaware that the opening hours are different on Friday. As a result, I called many times after 8 am (when they usually open) until 9 am (when they open on Fridays). I sent an inquiry through on Facebook regarding their Friday hours and someone responded within the hour. Their business hours listed on their website state M-Fri 8 am - 7 pm. This is confusing. I have always loved this office and the way that they do as minimal as possible. I am a firm believer in less is more and children being able to naturally heal or use natural resources to heal. I'm even more fond on having the ability to still be seen by a medical professional without having to vaccinate my child. However, recently, their policies have changed and it is not a good reflection of the actual work being provided. I will say this has nothing to do with the staff and that maybe it can be a hindrance in how staff and customer interact. All the practitioners are pleasant and have a kind relationship with each patient. However, the front desk can be a hit or miss with attitude and customer service. $240 for a 15 minute visit is taking advantage of how informed people choose an establishment for medical care. Disappointing. In fact some would say it's just plain wrong. Unfortunate, for such a great concept of medical care, Franz. If the goal is to establish a clientele that is capable of self healing or to have a more knowledgeable, natural approach to health, then I wouldn't need to see the doctor monthly. Meaning a monthly fee of $150 (for two children) is an absurd amount to pay for something that wouldn't go to use. And to be frank, because of the many awesome herbal teas and pellets you sell, a majority of the illnesses we have encountered have been able to be treated at HOME. And if you're going to penalize people for not choosing one of those outrageous packages by charging them $240 per visit (for very basic visits) then that seems like a reason not to visit this establishment. Worst pediatrician office ever. They reel you in and neglect you once you're a patient. They charge for every little thing and always try to push their products that never seem to work. My son had covid and i called after hours line when he had 104 fever to get recommendations before going to the hospital and no one ever called me back. Currently trying to get my daughters physical records to enroll her in vpk & they're telling me it's a 50 charge because they sent me one after her last well visit, which they did not so the lady had the nerve to say she'll make an exception this time as if it's my fault they never sent the physical. I have a scheduled appointment for my daughter. Show up on time, they proceed to take my daughters vitals (weight, height, temp) , about 5 minutes in total. Then they sat me in a room for a hour waiting to see the Dr. What's the point of a appointment? Yet ironically if you miss an appointment with the Dr. you can be charged a fee.....so they expect you to respect their time but care less about yours. read more

We took my daughter here after moving to Florida when she was 6 months. We moved out of state for 2 years and as soon as we got back; we reestablished care with them. She's almost 7 now. My daughter loves all the people working there, as do my husband and I. It's nice to go somewhere that understands that western medicine (aka "just fix the symptoms.") isn't the only way or the right way to do things. The medication they sell has all worked wonders for any sickness we've had through the years. AIR professional has gotten rid of our fevers and really bad colds in mere days. We've been taking our daughter to Franz Center since she was born in December 2020. We've had nothing but a great experience! The front desk staff has been amazing, sweet and welcoming. Anais always has the most friendly smile! Liza always knows how to make our girl smile even through all of her measurements and we absolutely adore Erin, our nurse practitioner. I see there are many other reviews mentioning the opposite, but none of those have been like our experience, and with a new baby we've already had close to 10 visits. Wow! We just had the most incredible experience at the Franz Center. We have been going here for 3 years and this visit was truly PERFECTION. My son caught a cold so I called and was immediately offered a same day and next day appointment. When we arrived we were brought in within 5 minutes by the FRIENDLIEST woman who took the time to make friends with my son and make him feel 100% comfortable as she weighed him etc. She made him smile and laugh even though he wasn't feeling well and so did Liza. They were amazing. Next we went into a room where we waited for the doctor. She came in within 5 minutes and spent a lot of time thoroughly checking on my son. She offered us natural treatments which I LOVE and he is already feeling much better. We got I to the car and he told me how much fun he had at the doctor. Wow! I am blown away. The Franz Center used to be a decent practice. However, since the covid, they have become absolutely impossible to deal with. They complain of constantly being short-staffed. They will unilaterally "convert" your child's in-person appointment to a virtual appointment. Then if you complain about it, they will not apologize, but rather will chastise you for daring to complain about it, insisting it is not their fault. Yet, I don't care whose fault it is. It is not my problem. I need a doctor that is reliable. To that end, they now have a call center that answers because it is like an hour hold time. Nobody calls back or emails back. The call center will just put you through to a voicemail and then no one calls back. Most recently, my daughter was seen and was promised an email with a list of prescribed items. We did not receive it. Days went by with attempted emails and phone calls. When I finally heard back from the manager, she left a voicemail that dismissed me from the practice. No apology and did not provide the promised email. She accused me of having all the information I need, and shamed me for daring to write an email in which I was critical of their unresponsiveness. My sense is that I was dealing with people that really could care less about the children and do not care how they treat people. The $50 charge for an "after-hours" phone call [when they don't answer the phone during the day] was perhaps the most accurate indication of this phenomenon. My advice to people that want to feel like they are not a burden when calling their doctor for the care of their children -- stay away! read more

This place used to rock! For one year we were in love with this place, but now that they are "moving to computer instead of paper files" we've been waiting for 2 HOURS for the last 4 appointments. HAlf of the nurses are very rude, don't care at all for the kids, and gave my child a shot in the little open room in the middle of the hallway because all the rooms were busy. I love this practice! Dr. Franz and her staff are all so caring and both my children love going there. She practices Eastern medicine but is also trained in natural remedies and homeopathy and Chinese medicine. I appreciate having options to treat my children without medications if there is an alternative natural remedy. To me this is very important. The Franz Center is a life saver. Finally, a doctor who will work with both natural remedies (homeopathy as well as Eastern medicine) and western medicine. Although at times, their wait time can be longer than desired, I realize that this is part of having a doctor who actually spends time with the patient. There is room for conversation and to ask questions. I rather wait and then have this type of service than to be ushered through and not given the same type of detailed care. I've had issues with this place throughout the years with things like it being impossible to get someone to answer the phone/email and being denied to be seen bc we were one minute past the grace period even though we live an hour and a half away and there was a bad wreck on i4. But today was the last straw. 2 days ago my daughter had a fever but we thought it was related to teething but yesterday morning fluid was coming out of her ears so we suspected a ruptured ear drum. My husband called to make an appt. And they made a virtual one. He asked them shouldn't she be seen In person since you actually need to look inside the ear to see what is going on but they assured him it was ok. So today I did the virtual appt and the PA asked about the fluid and I told her it was coming out both ears. She asked if she was messing with her ears and I told her no but she isn't drinking like she normally does (another symptom of ruptured ear drum) and then this lady asks me if there's anything going on with me????? Like what in the world??? No ??? I'm just trying to make sure my daughter is ok bc I've never seen this before and then she tells me I " seem off". Then she proceeds to tell me about all the teas my 11 month old needs to drink and I ask her doesn't she need antibiotics for her ear??? AND THIS LADY TELLS ME SHE DOESNT KNOW WITHOUT SEEING THE EAR AND I NEED TO COME IN ON MONDAY. so basically she only saw me today so she could bill me and my insurance twice. And then idk why she kept asking about me? Was this insurance fraud? Was she trying to bill services for me too?? I guess I'll never know. But I took my daughter to an urgent care where she does have a really bad double ear infection with a ruptured drum and is finally on some medicine for so she can feel better.
