Almond chocolate croissant
Jaci K.

The French Bakery is a popular bakery in Delray. It's close to the beach, near the busy avenue, but conveniently has its own parking so you can be in and out in a jiffy. I have seen countless cyclists meeting up here on the weekends and a constant flow of people going in and out. I finally decided the time has come to give it a shot! Right off the bat I knew this was going to be one for the books. Fresh baked bread displayed when you first walk in, two cases displaying sandwiches , pastries, and a variety of bread. A cooler case in the middle offering various desserts in to go containers. A GIANT espresso machine churning out the best smelling espresso. This place has the makings of an incredible bakery! I opted for an iced white chocolate latte and I must say I was very impressed. Instead of using the typical flavor syrup, they actually used white chocolate chips and brewed espresso over it. This did give a little bit of a weird texture since I ordered it iced, but I didn't mind. The espresso was extremely strong and smooth. Absolutely delicious. I came in with the intention of ordering a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant. To my surprise, I hit the jackpot with a chocolate almond croissant in one! I could honestly not believe the taste. The croissant itself was light, airy, and flaky. They were able to get a chocolate layer in the middle without compromising the fluffiness of the croissant. Also, the almonds were thin sliced on top so they were not too overpowering. My entire experience from taste to ambiance was 10/10. Highly recommend for anyone looking to grab a sweet treat!

Our new French bakery.....welcoming small staff and absolutely delicious baked goods!!

i watched 2 people within 5 min getting yelled at for reaching to get a loaf of bread on their own. The plastic opening in front of the display and bread bags below are a welcoming invitation to help yourself. There is a sign on the side, but not in clear site. Bothe customers were spoken to in an abrupt and uncalled for manner. When it was my turn to check out, the young man looked at me and said 'it's common sense!' As a 65 year old witnessing total disrespect to the previous 2 customers, I said 'I disagree,' and asked how often that happens. A young girl behind the counter said in unison, 'all the time.' Well, then it appears your signage is wrong.' I was yelled at, interrupted several times When just trying to express my view. I will call the Mgr, Nina, but I have a feeling the youn girl who yelled, Mia, and continuously interrupted is related to her. The first person to be scolded was my friend. She later shared that Mia was mimicking me to other customers..... DONE WITH THIS BAKERY--DESPITE THEIR REPUTATION AND GREAT BAKED GOODS.......MAISON BOUCHARD IS NOW OUR GO-TO---- We went to the Bakery across the street, 'Maison Bouchard'....the pastry chef previously worked the French Bakery. The Croissants and quiche are all I have tried, both out of this world.....we received a warm welcome, food is delicious and our business was appreciated.

Focaccia bread

How do I love thee, let me count the ways... I had driven by this quaint little French bakery for about a month on my way to work before I finally was able to pop in. I was not disappointed. I love that they are open so early, so that I can stop in for a quick breakfast treat on my way to work, and I can also pick up a tasty lunch. I thought I loved croissants. I don't know what croissants I've eaten before, but after getting their raspberry almond croissant and the pistachio cream croissant, I don't think I can look at a non French made croissant the same anymore. They were the crispiest, lightest, and tastiest croissants I've ever had. And even the next day (it was sooo hard to save one for the next day), they were still crispy, flakey, and divine. As I was picking out my croissants, I saw them bring out this tray from the oven of what I can only describe as heaven - but they called it their cheesy focaccia bread. I had to get it. They have a couple premade cold dishes, like pasta and quinoa salads. I decided to get the pesto penne pasta. Normally I don't like penne pasta because it can be dense and rubbery. I asked how they recommended I have the salad - hot or cold. They said it was good either way. I opted to have it cold, and it is now one of my favorite lunch options. Light and delicate, but flavorful, with the pesto, olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, and olives coming together for a tasty and surprisingly filling, the portion was not large, but when I had it with the focaccia, I ended up stretching it out over 2 lunches. I couldn't wait to heat up the focaccia the first day, and even cold it was some of the best focaccia I've had. I heated it up the 2nd day, and to be honest, I think it is great served either way. Oh, and if you happen to come at just the right time, you can get a baguette still warm from the oven. You know the bread is good when you have to sneak a bite in the car before you leave the parking lot. The staff is friendly and helpful - especially given how early they open. This has no become a regular treat and lunch option for me. My only regret is that they aren't open on my way home, but really, do I really need a baguette on my way to work and on my way home?! Maybe I shouldn't answer that question. They have other food options: croissant egg and meat sandwiches, quiches (I didn't get it this trip, but I've gotten it multiple times - very light, but filling), and other pastries (that I will someday try when/if the croissants release the hold they have over me. The sandwiches and quiche are VERY reasonably priced, especially since lunch seems to have gotten so expensive no matter way you go. Definitely check this little place out. You won't be disappointed.

I could have sworn I have reviewed this bakery before. I guess not. My go to is the sunrise special, and a cappuccino . Ham and egg on a croissant . Perfect every time. But if you do not get them as they are being put on the shelf, it's served lukewarm at best. Plenty of different coffees , pastries, cakes and pies to choose from. The front desk workers are always friendly. You can sit in or take out. Excellent morning stop for a coffee, and whatever you decide to get with it.

Pistachio white Chocolate Croissant !!

This cute little French Bakery has been around since 2014. They make traditional French breads and pastries using artisan labor and equipment. Their breads and pastries are handcrafted by several French-trained artisans, as well as a team of local artisan bakers. Their baked goods are handcrafted and baked throughout the day in their hearth deck Bongard bread oven, where they bake daily baguettes, boule, epis, rye and sourdough. Their yummy hand-rolled croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, cookies, tarts and biscuits, are prepared in plain view and often served still warm from their ovens. My treat was the Pistachio white chocolate croissant....Delish !!!! The croissant was flaky and buttery and it was nice to be able to taste very vividly.....the notes of pistachio and white chocolate The bakery also offers a range of sandwiches and Focaccia on their lunch menu.

Deliciousness

A delightful find in Delray - delicious French pastry with beautiful ambiance. We ordered an assortment of croissants (chocolate, almond, chocolate almond and plain). All were buttery, flaky and delicious! There was a small lineup and all the customers were just as excited to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Such a friendly spot! We enjoyed the croissants on their covered outdoor patio. Worth the walk or drive to The French Bakery.

Raspberry Almond Croissant
Cherrie S.

I believe I rated this place before - praising them about their Raspberry Almond Croissant and Ham & Cheese Sandwich. Today, we went there to get those 2 plus a Pain Au Chocolat. To our dismay, the Pain Au Chocolat has hardly any chocolate filling (see photo). The Raspberry Almond Croissant is a bit hard like it was baked yesterday. The filling is thin but not as bad as the Pain Au Chocolat. I'm totally disappointed with this place as the quality of their pastries is going down. I hope they improve so we can give them better reviews next time.

It transports you to an Italian NY deli. The place is packed, bustling spot and that alone tells you everything you need to know. You know it's good when you walk in and the place is packed. We split the Chicken Cutlet Florentine and it was absolutely incredible. Heads up: the full size is massive, so splitting it is definitely the move and still totally worth it!! The service was super friendly despite how busy it was. I had my eye on the black & white cookie too because what's an authentic Italian deli without one? Sounds like my next visit to Boca includes trying more stuff!

When I…read morearrived, there was a long line and the place was packed -- always a good sign that something's being done right. The sandwich itself was good, made with quality ingredients and solid flavor overall. The bread and fillings were fresh, and you can tell they care about what they're serving. One small detail: I wasn't offered any sauce suggestions, and because of that, my sandwich ended up feeling a bit dry. I think a simple recommendation from the staff would've elevated the experience. Still, it was tasty and reasonably priced. The place is small, but it gets the job done -- very much a neighborhood deli vibe. Overall, a good, no-frills sandwich spot worth trying, especially if you're already in the area.

I had an iced cappuccino, while others in the group got matcha, pastries, and a few other drinks. We sat outside under an umbrella, which made for a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Everything tasted fresh and well made, and you can tell why this place has a loyal following. The only thing that surprised me was that, since it was Mother's Day and it was pretty obvious I was the mom in the group, no one wished me a happy Mother's Day. Not a huge deal, but it would've been a thoughtful touch. Also, parking is pretty limited, so be prepared and careful when pulling in. I suggest just getting a full pizza, eating a few slices there, and then taking what you couldn't finish home and reheating in an air fryer. The employees were very friendly and hard at work. On top of the fact that you were just a few steps away from the beach the ambiance gives the the feel of a New York pizza place. Trust me you can't go wrong with this spot.

Upon arrival, I was handed a large bag for my pickup. Given the size of the packaging, I reasonably assumed the entire order was included. When I got home and realized the salad was missing, I called to request a delivery for the omitted item. Not only did the staff refuse, but they also informed me it was my responsibility to verify the order was correct before leaving. As a customer, I expect a level of professional accuracy that doesn't require me to audit my own bag. When I drove back to the restaurant, the service remained dismissive. Despite being the only person in the building, I was ignored for several minutes. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I was taught that you never blame the customer for a staff error. There was no apology, no offer of a refund for the missing item, and no gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. Between the unprofessional attitude and the mediocre food, this was a deeply frustrating experience. I will not be returning.
