We had a good experience here for breakfast food came cooked to order. I had a latte and we shared the viral chocolate tiramisu cup. I liked it because it was not too sweet. This place never disappoints me--it's absolutely amazing! It was my first time trying the crepe and it was really good. The bacon, egg, and cheese was also delicious, and the crème brûlée pancake... oh boy, so good! The fruity waffle was another favorite--full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Definitely can see why this is the Viral French cafe I've been seeing everywhere! Visited with my husband, sister and brother! There's so much on the menu to choose from, but I'm a Benedict fan and that's how I feel out all breakfast spots. Initially ordered the classic Benedict in the croissant and Dubai affogato. But made my husband switch me because the classic comes with bacon, instead of ham. He ordered the ham and cheese Benedict of course. The Dubai affogato was my first encounter with anything 'Dubai' marketed. I was sooo happy with my coffee choice! It was subtly sweet and rich which paired very nicely with my savory croissant! Brother ordered the French toast to share with the table and it was AMAZING. I want to come back JUST for the French toast alone. I believe the menu said it was Sourdough French toast. My sister got the crème brûlée latte and crème brûlée French toast. Chat, she ate it all. I can't comment personally but if she didn't share I believe there's a great reason. Finally made it here when it wasn't busy! I came on a Tuesday before noon for brunch. The breakfast was awesome. The French toast tasted really good. It wasn't greasy the eggs were done right and I loved the tea, especially that it comes with a little leaf sticking out. The workers were really friendly and accommodating, and wanted to make sure we were taken care of and came and checked in on us even though we ordered at the front and sat down in the back. When it's not crowded it's actually a really nice ambience. There's beautiful paintings surrounding the inside that you can look at by local artist which I found really inspiring, even if you were to sit outside they have umbrellas if it gets too hot. As a self-proclaimed French girly, I was SO excited to try The French Cafe after seeing it all over social media. We ordered a mix of pastries, coffee, and savory items to really get a feel for the menu. Starting with the positives -- the cappuccino was genuinely great. Smooth, balanced, and exactly what you want with pastries. The viral chocolate mango dessert (iykyk) was also fun. I've had better versions locally, but it still scratches the itch and is worth trying at least once. We also tried one of the filled croissants that comes with a pipette to inject coffee into it, which was definitely a fun concept. Unfortunately, the flavor just didn't quite land for me. That same theme carried into the savory items. The bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was good but nothing particularly memorable. The croque monsieur was the biggest disappointment for me -- it's such a French staple, and I had high hopes. Both it and the breakfast sandwich had American cheese, which felt really off. Respectfully, American cheese has absolutely no business being anywhere near French food The croque monsieur was also cold in the middle, almost like it had been pressed earlier and reheated, which was a bummer. The social media hype has this place packed, but I do understand what reason I came in and I wanted to sample a few things just for myself and ended up ordering almost $50 worth of food and drinks. You will feel a little bit cramped because you have to stand in line and basically scout out a table so it's best to go with someone else if you want to sit and enjoy. I scoped out a dirty table while I was in line and went and put my sunglasses down on it to stay clean until they cleaned it and then once I got my food, I asked him to clean it. That's the only way I was able to get a table, especially one right by the front door other people I saw just walking around with their food and hands. The good thing about it is people do eat and go, but most people come and enjoy the atmosphere and each other's conversations. My mom came to town and wanted brunch. I thought we were in for a treat since the place was busy, but unfortunately this first visit fell very short. My husband's panini which was a hot item, was cold. They charged him for a side that was supposed to be included. He also realized later he wasn't asked how he wanted his eggs cooked, and he was disappointed the eggs were fried hard. My mom ordered turkey bacon on a breakfast sandwich and got turkey and bacon (there must have been a misunderstanding because the person taking the order didnt state they don't have turkey bacon). Weirdly enough, we didn't seem charged for the bacon. They did offer to correct the issue. She did enjoy the peach juice she had. I came to The French Cafe for the second time today. After two visits, I'd give this place three and a half stars if I could. The food and service are alright, but nothing to write home about. I don't know that I'd visit again for anything other than coffee and the baked goods. During this most recent visit my husband ordered the classic breakfast and I ordered the spinach quiche with potatoes. We had to wait a while for the food and his meal was served before mine. It was another 5-10 minutes before my meal arrived. When it did, I wasn't all that impressed by the quiche. The pastry was soggy, not crisp and flaky. The taste was ok but given how long it took to be served, I expected better. Our drinks were pretty good. I really enjoyed my Dubai pistachio latte. I would've loved to have some of their baked goods to go but as we were leaving, the brunch rush had already rolled in and I didn't feel like waiting in the long line. read more

First things first - literally no notes - my experience was flawless! Now, this is a quaint, well-run, busy establishment. Loud, quick-moving but long line, lots of kids, crowded. We grabbed a table inside & I waited in line to order. There's QR codes of the menu everywhere & we had an easy time ordering. Such great options! I opted for the Gauffre de Chef, my husband got the fruity waffle, and I got pop the veggie omelette. I also got both of them orange juice, a nitro cold brew, the latte flight, and a pistachio croissant. We didn't even finish half our food and it was so delicious. So many delicious food items as well as a bigger drink menu and a larger dessert option made me once again be happy that this is so close to my house. There seemed to be some confusion on the flow for getting in line, as I got in at a quiet moment. The start of the line is where a sign was placed for Pick-Up so mild confusion there. Ordered the crème brûlée French toast which looked great in the menu. The toast itself was black and tough, covered in a curdled crème. The brûlée was barely melted and wasn't fun to bite down on a chunk of essentially rock candy. Far from enjoyable, but do appreciate the amount of fresh fruit on this dish. Here's what brought it to a 3.... The Issue is there is no ORDER to grabbing a table so good luck to you. I think this could be improved overall for a better experience and was a significant contributing factor in the score. I mean it when I say this was the best brunch experience I've ever had. I've been to many many places before but this place takes the ...eclair. Literally. The place is set up like a pastry shop in France. The theme is right on track. The customer service is top tier. Everything was made fresh. I found myself just ordering stuff just because lol. I ended up getting the coffee flight- it was amazing. For entrees, I had the southwest panini and I added extra egg for the protein. My table mate ordered the salmon croissant with lemon crème French toast. Of course we mixed and matched and sampled each others food....and when I tell you everything exceeded expectations.... OWNERSHIP CHANGE Wow. Not sure how long it's been since our last vist, but the vibe is SO different. Looks like they may be associated with Baldwin Perk. Gone is the pleasant French Cafe ambience. The menu has been expanded but we have our 2 favorite items. Hopefully that's what we ordered. Their screen menus flash from one thing to the next, so we couldn't really tell if our old faves were there or not. Once we got to the cashier, there were printed menus. Wish I had those while we waited in line, but didn't want to lose my place. Seems like printed menu was different that the screen menu - very disorienting. But I will say, they are remarkably busy on this Saturday morning on Easter weekend. So we must be in the minority. Our bad for going on a holiday weekend. Definitely not on our must-do list any longer. But we do recommend the Quiche Lorraine and Croissant Breakfast with breakfast potatoes. We saw lots of coffee drinks and juices pass our table during our 35 minute wait for the food. We must've ordered the wrong thing because folks that came in after us got their food before we got ours. Oh, and while people circled looking for tables, there was a young lady working on her laptop after finishing her drink. Then she took a restroom break. And another couple of ladies having a long after-pastry chat were there all the time we were and remained even as we were leaving. I understand this is usually deemed okay. When it came to our table it was not even the flavors they advertise. I went up and waited in line again, told them the flavors weren't what I ordered, and they replaced one of them. Stopped by on a Thursday afternoon! We ordered a cortado with almond milk, cappuccino with 2%, a veggie crepe and ham n cheese croissant. When delivered the first coffee, the server said "Americano with soy?" and we said no. She delivered it to the table next to us. That couple said that that wasn't their drink either, so the server brought us back that same cup she delivered to the table next to us and said she mixed up the orders and this was our drink. By the time it reached us again, there was barely any foam left, coffee was let cold and it was spilled against the rim onto the plate. The drink didn't look like a cappuccino and it did taste like soy. At least my cortado was good. Crepe was more of the sweeter side than savory. There wasn't much veggies in there but what threw me off was the sauce. It was ranch? I thought it was supposed to be pesto. The ham n cheese croissant was good but could have been warmer. We heard about this spot from a friend and decided to visit on a very busy Sunday morning. We knew this place was special when we saw the line of people waiting to order. Although the line was long, it moved quickly thanks to the very efficient staff. It may have moved faster if people had taken advantage of the giant menu signs on the walls, or menu books on the counters. The staff worked quickly and there were many people rushing around to service the crowd. Our pastries were given to us right away, but we had to wait 40 minutes for our takeout croque monsieur. We were given a number on a metal stand to take back to our car and return 35-45 minutes later. That felt awkward, as if we were stealing it and we never had to present it again. I noticed they did not give us all the croissants we ordered, so I went back in. I explained at least twice, whilst showing my receipt. The cashier seemed confused at first and pointed to my order as if it was correct. Once she realized there were 2 almond croissants, she quickly got us another to correct the order. We left and returned 40 minutes later to the area labeled Pickup and told someone what we were waiting for. They handed it over without checking our receipt or number. Everything was good. The service was great. I would recommend the almond croissant and the chocolate almond croissant only if you like almond filling. I enjoyed it but not everyone in my group liked that much filling. There was plenty of parking in the lot around the plaza. It was a nice place with lots of outdoor seating and a few tables inside. My fiancé had been wanting to visit here for some time, so we decided we'd stop in and fuel up for our Disney day. It was packed, but the line moved fast enough. There were so many delicious options but I kept it simple with a spinach quiche with fruit, and he ordered the Berry Mix French Toast. We both ordered strawberry iced matcha to drink. You get a table stand with your order number and seat yourself. They have lots of seating (indoor and outdoor) so even though it was busy we were able to find a spot quickly. After about 15 minutes my quiche arrived. It was full of spinach and so tasty! It could have been warmer. About 5 mins after the quiche arrived our drinks came. They were wrong. They brought us iced matcha with lavender even though our receipt clearly showed strawberry (which the cashier typed in). We were prepared to just role with it (after waiting 20 minutes we weren't keen to wait another spell) but when they returned a few moments last with the French toast I had tasted the lavender and it was not agreeing with me. I mentioned it and they apologized and brought out the correct drink about 5 minutes later. The French toast was outstanding. Overall this would be a 4 star rating if the drink snafu didn't happen and if my meal didn't arrive substantially ahead of my partner's. That seems to just be the nature of the beast with the system they have in place, but for my preference I like to get my drink first then my meal and preferably have everything on a ticket arrive together to enjoy the meal. read more
