Some employees are great but the majority are just ok and there are a few that are just terrible - either rude or act like they would rather have their colon examined than talk to you. Management really need to improve employee training. Meats and produce are ok better than the Whole Foods that was briefly open here but I have had some meats that were not as fresh as I would have liked. All and all, I don't think they are worth their price mark up. You can get everything you would get there online (amazon) or at Publix (where a greater percentage of employees are nice) easier and cheaper. read more

Ok--so I cheated on Fresh Market & tried Whole Foods. But I came back. It's a calmer experience and I prefer their vegs and meats. Also I feel it's more about a good food/taste experience rather than just the organic schtick. And they ordered my frozen Louisiana crawfish for me so Hubby can make étouffée!! read more

This is a pretty small Fresh Market. I feel like I leave empty handed fairly often. They just don't have the selection of some of the other Fresh Markets that I've shopped. Smaller bakery, wine, and overall gifts selection. You can still find "the basics" that you'd expect- produce, the candy, flowers. I think the weekly deals can be very good as well. Convenient location and easy to get in and out of the parking lot because of the stoplight. read more

This is the worst Fresh Market ever. The produce is good, but everything else is either out of stock or old. I've seen plenty of canned or jarred foods on their shelves that were within days of expiring or had already expired. I brought this to the attention of one of the check-out employees and she said ok. I stood in the entry way after paying and she didn't tell anyone, but stood by her register waiting for the next customer. I guess they want to leave them on the shelves in case someone buys them. read more

Not really a fan of organic or natural food....but this is a great grocery store. I stop in from time to time when I need special ingredients to make certain dishes. They have a great variety of things. The prepared food section is great and they have some of the best desserts in town. read more

I used to like this place, that was until I saw that the produce was not well looked after. I'm talking particularly about the peppers. There was a huge amount of mold growing on the tomatillos, the Serrano peppers looked almost dried, and the remaining peppers just looked sick. Not returning. This place is expensive, and I'm not willing to put money down if they can't at least remove moldy food. read more

This place seems much more gourmet and upscale to me than healthy. I do enjoy their prepared food section and the bakery. I would com here to grab a Reuben and it would last me two meals. I recommend you ordering from the counter than picking up the prepackaged ones. For $1-2 more my sandwich doubles in size and easily lasts me two meals. I also recommend their French vanilla chocolate cake, red velvet cupcake, and tiramisu. Their dinner for two deals are also worth checking out. read more

Lots of good looking products but almost every single one is non organic (fruits and veggies) and the other products have "standard american diet"preservatives while claiming to be all natural. Go to earth fare or whole foods for higher overall quality. read more

I think they've thrown in the towel already. all of the helpful, polite deli ladies must have jumped ship already. Combined with less attention to prepared foods, out of stock on some wines, produce still looks great but so does Whole Foods...just sayin. It's a fine alternative to not having a Whole Foods locally. The staff is very helpful and the prices are pretty reasonable.

This place used to be five stars, but since Whole Foods opened down the street, it's been more the Not-So-Fresh Market than what it used to be. More times than I can count we've gotten rotten or moldy produce and, while the butcher used to be willing to cut us fresh salmon filets from the freezer, they won't anymore, you take what's in the case or do without. For what they charge, they should be willing to give the customer what they ask for. This time, the salmon actually SMELLED fishy, which fresh fish won't! No telling how long it had been sitting in that case. Fresh Market is still a nicer shopping experience (and less expensive) than the Whole Foods down the street, but not when you have to drive 15 miles to take rotten produce BACK or do without something because it's obviously not fresh. read more

The fresh market is what I consider a specialty grocery store in that they carry a lot of higher end products but you could never afford (literally they are a bit steep on prices) to shop there on a regular basis. They have a great coffee selection and if you want some good candies/chocolate you can find it there. They use to have the best jalapeño pimento cheese years back when they made it in house but now its obviously mass produced and not as good. Their bakery is good but overpriced for a lot of the items. The meats look excellent and they taste excellent as well but you will pay for it. They do have wine and beer. Not bad if you want to pick up something decent but really no better choice than what you will find in a larger grocery store such as Kroger. I take away a star mainly because I find they are high on items they really shouldn't be charging as much as they are and if they are busy their checkouts are hopelessly slow. read more

Love this place. The meat and produce is a lot fresher than what you would get at Krogers or Publix. It is not always more expensive. I bought some spinach and beans sprouts at Fresh Market and it was actually priced the same as Kroger. The meat and fish is more expensive but you are definitely paying for the quality. My husband and I are coffee drinkers so we just love their large collection of coffee beans here. It's also really nice to be able to grab a sample coffee or orange juice while you are here. I bought some sushi here the other day and was really surprised by how good it is. I have bought sushi at places like Kroger and Publix and they can never compare to the restaurant. The sushi at Fresh Market is really good and the raw salmon and tuna is very fresh. Now I did not check their prices for other things like oil or sugar or everyday staple....so I am not sure how their prices are for those things. However, if you love coffee, sushi and fresh meat, fish and produce, this is the place to go to in Augusta. read more

My shift is from 2:30 -11pm I open the drink and take a sip and it tastes horrible so I look at the date on it and it has been EXPIRED SINCE 11-14-17!!!!! Ridiculously overpriced nonorganic food. It's more like a food gift shop, purveying the kinds of meagerly nutritional baskets and prepared dishes my sister and her family adore. I love the fact that they will sell something like a pomegranate for $4.00, and less than a mile down the road both Publix and Kroger have the same thing for $2.50. Expensive compared to Kroger and Publix but not compared to Whole Foods. Best bets are the bakery (I can taste the butter in those cookies!), meat, and the cooked chicken and ribs. Upscale grocery store with a nice selection of fresh organic produce. I was happy that they carried pasture-raised "certified humane" eggs. It's not as good as the "animal welfare certified" eggs, but it's a better selection that what you may find at Kroger and Publix who carry a number of "organic," "cage free," and "free range" eggs. Yesterday, Saturday 6/28, I visited around 10:45 a.m. to purchase desserts and other implements for a dinner party. After gathering roses and a few other items I went to the dessert counter. There was 1 lady in the bakery dept waiting on customers and 2 others behind her spraying pans, putting together boxes, etc. There were 2 customers in front of me and still, no one stopped what they were doing to wait on customers. The first gentleman they were waiting on wanted crème brulee with a glaze, etc. which seemed to take an inordinate amount of time. I began walking around the store to find a manager and couldn't locate one. Came back, still waiting on customer number 1, none of the other bakery folks stopped the obviously all important task of spraying pans and putting together boxes. Customer number 2 asked if I wanted to go in front of her and I said no, but I did just want to ask if there were any other petit fours in the back as I hated to wait for over 10 minutes for something they only had 4 of visibly in the case. The lady behind the counter was rude and stated yes she did have some more but they were in the back. I walked away, put away my dozens of roses and other items, and walked out and called the store manager on my way to Publix in Columbia County, where I was immediately waited on in the bakery dept. and purchased petit fours and butter cream cakes that were even better than Fresh Market. I will not be back, and this is after shopping there since they opened. And Fresh Market, you better watch out, Whole Foods is coming. Earth Fare may not have given you a run for your money, but for the prices you charge and customer service skills worse than any other store in town, your margins are going to suffer. I would rather shop at what we all call "crack head" Kroger on 15th Street where they will stop what they are doing in the bakery dept to serve you than go back to your overpriced poor service.
