    Classic Breakfast

While on a short stay in Boston (to see Chris Brown ofc) we stopped by here for brunch. Overall, the place is spacious and clean. It has a dive vibe. Very retro and in a good way. The food was average. I had the classic breakfast- bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries and toast. My friend had a similar breakfast with the flight and a pancake on the side. The home fries were seasoned but did not come with onions or peppers. In NY, we are used to that but maybe it's not a thing in Boston. Would I come back? Eh. But it was a cute spot to visit.

There's a chain of the friendly toast that I had never been to one. I was in the Chestnut Hill Boston area and my kids and I stopped here for brunch. I started off with a champagne flight and they were very refreshing and satisfying. We had the tater tot appetizer, which was really very cheesy and yummy. My daughter had the breakfast burrito, my son had the Monster pancake breakfast, and I had the Monte Madame, which was out of this world. I wish they had one of these establishments in Rhode Island, but it's only an hour away, so I'm definitely going to be back, and you should definitely go as well if there's one in your area. The customer service was also phenomenal in the interior was very eclectic and Pretty we played I Spy due to all the interesting decor on the walls and counters, which was also very entertaining lol. DELICIOUS!!

Personally, I love Friendly Toast and I think it's a fun spot to bring friends from out of town to. They got some unique food options like the gochujang burger and some fun seasonal drinks, and I love their breakfast tacos. What's hard is their wait time can be long and the service can be slow sometimes, so it does feel like we need to set aside spending more than 2 hours at brunch Otherwise, highly recommend!

" Wow ; the street taco breakfast is joyfully delicious " Can you say yummy ? The street taco breakfast has my stomach doing cartwheels it's that good . On the tortilla it has maple syrup and it's good . The service is really good especially for a chain restaurant. The food is super delicious especially for a chain restaurant. The vibe is upbeat and friendly . The name is right on for the vibration of the restaurant. Parking is in abundance as it is in a mall . The price is reasonable for the portion size and quality.

This is a full blown restaurant with a hostess; they seat everybody. I was alone so I figured I would miss the line and sit as the bar. Yes a breakfast place with a bar. It is located in a mall so lots of parking and I am sure a hefty rent. That would account for the higher prices. There was a line to get in so that tells me something about the quality . Even though they had plenty of seating, the place filled right up. The serving size was average. I was stlll hungry afterwards. The omelet looked like two eggs. If it was three eggs, they must be from a small chicken. The home fries were diced potatoes, cooked but not dripping with oil. I could have had more. I could taste the pepper used for seasoning. I had a vegetable omelette with spinach, tomatoes, mushroom, broccoli and goat cheese. Yum. They must have pre-cooked the broccoli in order for the el dente texture. Overall the food is a notch above everyone but so are the prices. I would still return.

Breakfast all day, well,at least til close at 2pm. This Friday morning near noon visit was DLish! I had the Eggs Benny, a perfect 10 on the Hollandaise, which is the real point of enjoying any Benny dish, not too creamy or loose with the exact subtle amount of lemon in this recipe. English muffin was a little chewy and next time I'll request the egg yolks to be over easy. My good friend had the cinnamon swirl French toast. She loved the fresh maple butter sandwiched in the center of the 2 thick slices, good touch with the individual bottle of maple syrup. And fresh coffee by Peet's, and our server Jack kept our cups fresh and full. Love the cartoon like decor and color scheme. I can finally say I've been to the Friendly Toast and I know I will return, always good when the place and food match the hype!

Eggs with spinach and cheese, ham, home fries, and french with strawberries. Mimosa sample.

There were a lot of options for food and it was hard to decide! They have everything from Shakshuka to their "croffle"! ( croffle- croissant waffle with different toppings) We shared a Nutella and hazelnut croffle, and had omelets. The croffle was incredible- very decadent- and the omelets were very generous with their portions and had toast and home fried potatoes! It's a small spot, but doesn't feel crowded at all overall great experience and would come back!

There's tables mostly for smaller groups, but they easily accommodated us and another large group. I ordered the fig prosciutto panini, which was admittedly smaller than what I was expecting but delicious for breakfast. Coffee saved me from my early morning flight too-- effective and tasty. I think my only knock was that I'd have hoped my particular dish was a bit more generous in portioning, but given a look at the other things my friends ordered, this looks like it's not necessarily the norm across dishes. Great quick bite-- parking is pretty easy on this street in the morning too, so I'd recommend!

PATTY MELT REVIEW…read more Iconic diner on the edge of Chinatown, a couple blocks east of the Expressway. It's been around for decades and it's open 24/7. More of an authentic this-place-has-aged feel than the typical diner attempt to evoke an earlier era. Went in the morning and went for a patty melt-- because I could. It's too elusive these days, so being able to not only find one but have it at breakfast, a double win. Double patty is standard, not an add-on, and fries (probably frozen, but lengthy, crisp and fluffy) are included. No onions, no rye, but lettuce and tomato-- a non-traditional configuration. Nicely browned patties that had juiciness. The ingredients weren't anything to write home about, but the execution was great all around and so was the cheerful service from a seasoned veteran. Sure, I've had better with the proper rye, griddled onions, and higher quality beef, but an easy 4 stars for the execution, value, vibe, and being able to even order a patty melt before 10 in the morning. Bonus points for a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that was slightly warm. Breakfast items (eggs, crispy home fries, and pancakes) on a neighboring table looked good.

South Street Diner was one of the few places open that early, so I decided to give it a try. Parking was easy at that hour, and I thought it was kind of cool seeing a classic diner tucked in among all the large office buildings downtown. I was in the mood for pancakes and ended up ordering the diner special with eggs over medium, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon, and pancakes. Unfortunately, the food was mostly average to below average. The eggs were a little underdone, the home fries were slightly overcooked in spots, and the toast was pretty standard diner fare. The homemade salsa was actually a nice touch and added some flavor to the potatoes. The biggest disappointment was the corned beef hash. I was hoping for something homemade, but it reminded me of the canned version I grew up eating. The texture and flavor just weren't for me, and I ended up leaving most of it behind. The pancakes were okay but a little dense and doughy, nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the coffee was decent, the service was fine, and being open early is definitely a plus for travelers. Overall, I'd put this one close to 3 stars. It's convenient if you need breakfast before sunrise, but the food didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for.
