I came to The Frisco Bar for happy hour to meet a friend. It's very close to my job. The service was ok. I met her on a Friday and there was a large group there. The servers were mostly focused on the large group and not individuals coming in. The ambiance is a sports bar. The have good well options for $4 and good happy hour wings for $5 on the food menu. Parking is ample for the corner piece that it is, step inside it is a really decent looking setup with about 15 High tables in about six or seven regular seating tables as well as the stools in front of the bar I'd say about 15 seats as well. Only reason for the mediocre rating and it's probably a four-star rating but a nice bar like this doesn't have tomato juice to make a Bloody Mary or any kind of cream or coconut blend to make a pina colada? They are not that hard and maybe they have the vodka and Gins and such. Jacob was taking care of us and he's an exceptionally friendly person and made decent suggestions that I'm glad he was able to tell us. My friend had a sangria which was a little strong and sweet which was the target for that and I got a hold of a dollar beer that they're trying to get rid of which actually tasted good and smooth. One weird thing is going to the men's restrooms as you open a door there are the urinals right in front of the door so if you ladies will like a peep show just casually walk past there or close your eyes whichever turns your fancy but terrible design. I'm probably going against the grain with this review but expect a little more out of it but who's to say that this isn't a place you need to at least visit once. read more

I have lived in Frisco for 20 years and had a regular place to go to watch the 4th of July fireworks. This year the location pivoted and so did we. We decided to check out The Frisco Bar due to the close proximity to the fireworks. What an excellent find!!! The staff was extremely friendly!!! My cocktail was slightly off (truly not a big deal), but the manager, Angel, came out and apologized and made it right. How nice is that?! We had the street tacos and they were great. I wish I had come with a bigger appetite but I will return to try the other options. Dog people out there? Dogs are welcomed on the patio. Not dog people? Well, that sounds like a personal problem, but you can always go inside to enjoy this great neighborhood bar. Firework people? Yep, you can see the Rough Riders fireworks from the comfort of their nice patio. Just the right number of tables to find a seat but not over crowded where you're forced to smell someone's poor choice in cologne/ perfume. Music is kind of all over the map, but it works. Don't like a song, hang tight, your song will come ion. The music on the patio is the right volume where you can enjoy it and still have a conversation at your table. They could use water misters on the patio (does have fans and cover) , but if you start to melt step inside and cool off for a bit. They do do have patio heaters, so hello fall and winter! Heads up to folks with younger kids. They are not allowed inside after a certain hour - 21 and up. The manager was polite and explained why they weren't letting this family with a 7-9 year old child. She told us that is their policy and mentioned there were songs that weren't really appropriate for a young child. As a mom, major respect on that...GOOD ON THEM!!!!! Parking is great too! The patrons range from older biker looking people that probably got into some trouble in their younger years while rocking to CCR or Lynard Skinner, to the clean cut gentleman who've just come off the PGA course, to everything in between. If you come here, please don't mess up our new watering hole. Talk to people here. Be friendly. Get to know others. And if you see a couple with a giant scary looking dog, that'll be my husband and I. His name is Loyd. He's a rescue dog that we got as a puppy and he only barks if you don't say hi to him. This may be a slightly biased review as the Frisco Bar is also a 49ers bar during game days! It is awesome having most, if not all the tvs on the game with sound. The group here is great and there is a waitress that tends specifically to the fans (as well as some more waiters). I've been here several times, only on game days though, and I must say, their service has improved every time I have been there. I tried their turkey wrap this past game day and it was really good. I needed some kick to it so they were more than glad to add some jalapeños in there for me. Note this is a bar so they carry all sorts of bar food (burgers, wraps, pizza, wings, etc) but also items like lumpia. The food for bar standards is great! read more

Always a good place to meet local friends for drinks and appetizers - right combination of "dive bar" and "fun, energetic atmosphere". On Karaoke Nights, there are some really good singers - but I watched them encourage those who were "not yet there" but were courageously trying. Appetizers are done very well - l recommend grabbing a sampler with friends and then reordering the ones you like. The service is courteous and fast - I've never had to wait long to get a drink. This place is a little sketchy but the food was ok. Came in with my 11 year old son around 6:00 on a Saturday, hoping to watch the Rangers and get some wings (this places was recommended). I got a burger, kid got wings since that's what he wanted. I get that this isn't Buffalo Wild Wings and you don't have 100 different seasonings, but when the server said they only come one way, I was a little surprised. She said the sauce was mild, but my son said it was way too hot for him and he usually likes hot stuff. My burger was fine, nothing special but it was cooked right and tasted good, and the margaritas were above average. On to the music. At 6:00 on a Saturday with other families and kids in the restaurant, I wouldn't expect to hear explicit hip-hop at a high volume. I could see another family with little kids and they looked uncomfortable as were we. I asked another guy if he could change it and he said it was being controlled by customers and they were picking the songs. The crowd was mostly older and white, so I found this a little surprising, but nothing we could do about it except suffer. A few country songs came on, then more hiphop, not the clean, radio version, the nasty n-word, b-word, p-word versions. I asked again if they could at least turn the music down and another person (manager, I think, had green hair) did something on her phone and it seems like she was able to skip past the really profane songs. Also, why do you take someone's credit card when they first sit down "to get you started." This seemed weird and I've never seen this done. I told the server I wasn't starting a tab, we were here for dinner. She said she does that so I don't have to wait for her at the end. Strange, but ok. Obvoisouly the bar can't control the music their patrons pick, but maybe just a sign somewhere to save the nasty hip hop until after the families left. Then there was a the guy swearing up a storm outside; my son was passing by to get something out the car and his GF said "hey, calm down, there's a kid over there," to which he replied he didn't give a F who was around. The sole purpose for our trip to Frisco Bar was the karaoke alone and it did not disappoint. This past week karaoke was on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at 8:00 and I'm not quite sure if it's the same each week. First week of school done! We survived and it was a success! Of course we decide it's time for happy hour right after school (or as we call it: "choir practice") Someone chose this place so I'll head over not knowing where it was but thanks to wase I got there pretty fast. I noticed there weren't a lot of parking spots so I had to park a bit far and walk. I get inside and the place it's pretty full at 5:30pm on a Friday evening. It's also pretty loud. I find my group and of course I check in on yelp! I immediately received a free appetizer with the purchase of two drinks. WIN!! Thank you yelp! I ordered the nachos with "sirloin steak" and a beer. Others in the table ordered the loaded fries and the quesadillas. Let's just say that I was extremely happy with the fact that I didn't have to pay for those nachos. The value was 12$ and honestly they were garbage. The cheese felt so processed that we couldn't even get one chip from the plate. The "sirloin" felt like a very cheap taco meat and the guacamole was worse than taco bueno's. My friend ordered a 10$ mojito that wasn't more than a glorified lemonade. She told the waitress the drink was too weak. The waitress takes it back, no apologies btw, and then after a while someone else brings her a new drink that was a little better than the first one. She of course was charged the whole 10$ for that drink. We didn't understand what was the hype about this place. Food - crap, service- blah and ambiance-loud. Wow trying to be fare but they make it hard to give them 2 stars. The live band sounds like they have never played together before. The waitress brought my food no napkin or silverware, I had to ask for it at the bar. No salsa nor sauce or flavor on the quesadillas. Luckily the bar hop came and cleaned the crusty, sticky table half way through my meal. Now I sit here, no one has been by for over 27 minutes meanwhile waitress across the room visiting, laughing living her best life!
