Eh definitely not a fan of this place. I live in the area so I've been a few times out of convenience, but I always instantly regret it. It's a huge bar, but severely understaffed. Every time I go there, it's impossible to get a server to help you. More than one time, I have spent over 45 minutes just trying to get a server to take my money so I can pay for my drink/meal. It appears that only the server who was taking care of you can check you out. I also just always get the impression that my patronage does not matter here. Whether I stay and consume here or leave makes no difference. read more

Awfully friendly to an American like me... especially one carrying in a huge pink Disney princess bag from the Toys R Us across the street. They brew their own beer, and it really hit the spot. Highly recommended, but I didn't try the food. It's the kind of place I'd make my regular establishment if I lived here. read more

Lots of fun- really great space and good solid food. The servers are smiley and attentive and they all speak English which is a relief if you are fatigued hearing French all the time. And the beer is excellent! Right near the National French Library and lots of shopping around. read more

Cons: blue cheese burger: blue cheese is a sauce, not actual cheese; "bien cuit" was served as a half-burned, half-medium-rare patty... still trying to figure out how they managed that one. I used to love that place and it was my regular go-to when I was still living in Paris. My last evening there left me really disappointed though. They somehow changed their beer and they don't taste at all like the one they used to brew on site. I think the tanks in the back are just there for decoration now, which is a shame when you know this is how they advertise their bars. Food was very blend and the whole place looked really dirty. What happened here? I used to love it so much. Main manager was not nice and rude, but fortunately our young waiter was really smiling and helpful. Don't go there on a Saturday night, they now hire a DJ (why?) and it gets SUPER LOUD. read more

Service was good, staff was friendly, free wifi. The bar, however, left much to be desired. I had a pint of the Dark de Triomphe, which was a "brune"--I've seen this translated as stout, but in this case was a brown ale. There was really no flavor to it other than bitterness (which was almost overwhelming), and it was also kind of flat. If you decide to check the place out, I would suggest sitting inside. It's on a major street and there's a building under construction across the way, which can be pretty disruptive. read more

Amanda and i spent several hours here waiting for a friend, and they were very accommodating. Food was fairly good pub food, and Amanda liked their beers well enough. The way the place was decked out, it was actually kinda easy to forget we were in Paris honestly. Nice place to wait for a movie to start, since the theater is right nearby. read more

Never had a beer worse than this served outside of France I work in this neighborhood and have hence gone to this bar/restaurant several times with both French and anglophone colleagues. Even though Paris desperately needs its own microbreweries (as well as an improved selection of beers at its cafés), the beer at this one is at best extremely disappointing. If the beer is fresh, it doesn't taste so. Furthermore, the taste is quite variable from week to week, going from barely drinkable, to not as good as a standard beer served at any other brasserie (like 1664, which isn't very good either). The beer is by no means "British", and if a French person tells you otherwise, it is simply because they don't know any better. I have never had a beer worse than this served outside of France. Compared to a French brasserie, the ambiance is somewhat Anglo-Saxon, but to call this a British pub is being way too generous. I will no longer go to this establishment until they get their act together. read more
