Sally Bowen is currently an Artist and Residence. Sally is an award winning watercolor and acrylic contemporary artist. Her current emphasis is her impression of Maiden Rock, a historic part of the Big Hole River. She has captured the area, it surrounding moods, weather, light features and charm. In the Gallery's front window, Sally is displaying some of her many paintings and wonderful greeting cards. We also feature craftspeople who produce hardwood cutting boards, beautiful and functional "Blue Pine" furniture and decor all gleaned from the southwestern corner of Montana. History

Established in 2011.

the Gallery @ FYN is an adjunct business to Feathering Your Nest. Both are located at 127 West Park St., Butte, MT. This region of Montana teams with arts and crafts people who are eager to exhibit their work. When we opened our nightwear and loungewear business we had space and energy to do more and promptly joined the Butte Uptown Art Walk group exhibiting the 1st Friday monthly, April thru October. We maintain the gallery and offer featured artists to exhibit on a monthly basis, year around. We exhibit a large collection of "Blue Pine" furniture and take custom orders for bathroom cabinet, barn doors as entry doors or to separate areas of a residence, flooring, kitchen cabinetry, trim and finish woodwork and other customer designed needs for your home or cabin.

When we visited, they were operating on a donation basis so we did stuff some money into the donation box as we started our time here. About an hour was enough to peruse through the exhibits. Some classic arts and landscapes, some modern contemporary art, a number of pro-conservation political messages here and there. Nothing outlandish. I especially enjoyed the "Big Sky" paintings by Dale Livezey and was really hoping that there might be a print I could purchase in the gift shop. Sadly no. His amazing landscapes showed a perfect sky with a gradation of color that I have never seen so well executed. It just smoothly blended from dark blue to lighter blue to very light blue with no lines. Perfectly smooth transition and I was very impressed. I would only say to the artist that there is no need to depict a moon, whether crescent or half. Gift shop is interesting, but little of the art on view is available here. Bummer. Street parking available.

A trip to the walking mall without stopping into the Ghost Art Gallery is just incomplete. I love…read moredropping in here from time to time to check out the art work ----ranging from oils to watercolors, photographs, giclee prints, ceramics, jewelry..... it's all there. This is a "gallery" in pure Montana style, not contemporary or rotating exhibitions, but rather a consistent stock of similar western art - often landscape and wildlife art (I think that's basically all Montana's artists do...). The staff is always very friendly, and there is also a custom frame shop upstairs that does a great job and carries limited edition prints if you can't afford an original. All in all a blessing to Helena's art scene!
